ple tely discharged, the outside mir rors must
be reset. Only then will the automatic mir ror
fo lding function workproperly. #

Engaging the outside mir rors #
Vehicles without electrical lyfolding out‐
side mir rors: manually mo vethe outside
mir ror into the cor rect position. #
Vehicles with electrical lyfolding outside
mir rors: press and hold button 1.
Yo u will hear a click and the mir ror will audi‐
bly engage in position. The outside mir ror will
now be set tothe cor rect position. Au
tomatic anti-dazzle mir rors function &
WARNING Risk of bu rns and poisoning
due tothe anti-dazzle mir ror electrolyte
Electrolyte may escape if theglass in an
automatic anti-dazzle mir ror breaks. The electrolyte is harmful and causes ir
rita‐
tion. It mu stnot come into contact wi thyour
skin, eyes,respiratory organs or clo thing or
be swallo wed. #
Ifyo u come into contact with electro‐
ly te , obser vethefo llowing:
R Rinse the electrolyte from your skin
and seek medical attention immedi‐
atel y.
R If electrolyte comes into contact
with your eyes, rinse them thor‐
oughly with clean water and seek
medical attention immediately.
R Ifth e electrolyte is swallo wed,
immediately rinse your mouth out
th oroughly. Do not induce vomiting.
Seek medical attention immediately.
R Immedia tely ch ange out of clo thing
which has come into con tact wi th
electrolyte.
R If an allergic reaction occurs, seek
medical attention immediatel y.15 0
Light and sight

The inside
rearview mir ror and the outside mir‐
ro r on the driver's side automatically go into
anti-dazzle mode if light from a headlamp hits
th e sensor on the inside rearview mir ror.
Sy stem limitations
The sy stem does not go into anti-dazzle mode in
th efo llowing situations:
R the engine is switched off
R reve rsege ar is engaged
R the interior lighting is switched on Fr
ont-passenger outside mir ror parking posi‐
tion function The pa
rking position makes parking easier.
In thefo llowing situations, the front-passen ger
outside mir ror will swivel down wards in the
direction of there ar wheel on the front passeng‐
er's side:
R The parking position is stored (/ page151)
R The front-passenger mir ror is selected
R Reversege ar is engaged The front-passenger outside mir
ror will mo ve
back toits original position in thefo llowing sit‐
uations:
R You shift the transmission toano ther trans‐
mission position
R You are tra velling at speeds greaterth an
15 km/h
R You press the button forth e outside mir ror

The red or blue indicator lamp on button 1
lights up or goes out.
The colours of the indicator lamp ha vethefo l‐
lowing meaning:
R Blue: stationary ventilation is switched on. R
Red:thest ationary heater is swit ched on.
R Yello w: the departure time is preselected.
The stationary heater / stationary ventilation will
switch off au tomatical lyafte r 50 minutes.
Operation using the app: thest ationary
heater/ ventilation can also be operated via the
Mercedes me connect app. Further information

thefo llowing before starting the engine:
R the legal stipulations in the area where your
ve hicle is par ked allow engine starting via
smartphone.
R it is safe tostart and runth e engine where
yo ur vehicle is par ked.
R the fuel tank is su fficiently filled.

WARNING Risk of crushing or entrap‐

engine
Limbs could be crushed or trapped if the
engine is star ted unintentionally during
service or maintenance work. #
Alw ays secure the engine against unin‐
te ntional starting before car rying out
maintenance or repair work. Re

yo u can car ryout a maximum of two consecu‐
tive starting attem pts. The vehicle must be star‐
te d once with theke y before trying tostart the
ve hicle again with the smartphone. you can stop
th eve hicle again at any time.

The engine is switched off automatically in the
fo llowing situations if all vehicle conditions for
an automatic engine stop are me t:
R you brake theve hicle toast andstill in trans‐
mission position hori.
R you depress the brake pedal when tra velling

you turn thesteering wheel hard at a low
speed.
% In transmission position k,the engine is
not switched off automatically even when
th e HOLD function is switched on.
The engine is restar ted automatically if:
R youre lease the brake pedal in transmission
position hwhen the HOLD function is not
active.
R you en gage transmission position hork.
R you en gage drive program B.
R you depress the accelera tor pedal.
R an auto matic engine start is necessar y.
ECO start/ stop function symbols in the multi‐
function display:
R the symbol è(green) appears when the
ve hicle is at a standstill: the engine was
switched off bythe ECO start/ stop function.
R the symbol ç(yellow) appears when the
ve hicle is at a standstill: not all vehicle condi‐
tions for an engine stop ha vebeen met. R
neither the symbol ènorç appears
when theve hicle is at a standstill: an intelli‐
ge nt stop inhibitor was de tected, e.g. a stop
sign.
% If, in spite of an intelligent stop inhibitor, the
engine should be switched off bythe ECO
st art/ stop function, you ha vethefo llowing
options:
R switch on the HOLD function in transmis‐
sion position hori.
R engage transmission position j.
If th e engine was switched off bythe ECO start/
st op function and you lea vetheve hicle, a warn‐
ing tone sounds and the engine is not restar ted.
The display message Vehicle is operational
Switch off ignition before exiting also appears in
th e multifunction displa y.Ifyo u do not swit choff
th e ignition, the ignition is automatically
switched off af terth re e minutes. Deactivating or activating

If indicator lamp 2lights up, the ECO start/
st op function is activated.

The ECO display will show you when you ha ve
driven economically:

led simultaneously

The additional range achi eved as a result of your
driving style in comparison with a driver with a
ve ry sporty driving style is shown under Bonusfrom start. The
range displ ayed does not indicate
a fixe dre duction in consum ption. ECO Assist function
Ve
hicles with a 48 V on-board electrical sys‐
te m (EQ Boo sttech nology):
ECO Assist analyses data forth eve hicle's expec‐
te dro ute. This allo wsthe sy stem tooptimally
adjust the driving style fo rth ero ute ahead, sa ve
fuel and recuperate. If the sy stem de tects an
eve nt ahead (e.g. a speed limit or a roundabout),
it will appear on the multifunction displa y.The
