and unusual driving characteristics, e.g .pullin gto

or tires. If yous uspect that at ireisd efective,
re duce your speed. Stop thev ehicle as soon as
possible tocheckifw heels and tires ha vebeen
damaged or ar enolonger functioning properly.
Hidden tir edamag ecould also be causing the
unusual drivin gcharacteristics. If no signs of
dama gecan be de tected, ha vethet ires and

The sy stem checks thet irep ressur eand thet ire

by means of atirep ressure sensor.
Ne wt irep ressur esensors, e.g. in winter tires,
ar ea utomatically taught-in during thef irst jour‐
ne yt heya reused.
It is thed rive r's responsibility tosetthe tir epres‐
sur etot herecommended cold tir epressur esuit‐
able fort he operating situation (/ page206).
No tethat thec orrect tir epressur efor thec urrent
ope rating situatio nmustfirst be taught-in tothe
tir ep ressur emonitoring sy stem. If asubs tantial
loss of pressur eoccu rs,t he warning thre shold for
th ew arning messag eisaligned tothet aught-in
