The pa rk ing lights, low beam and daytime ru n‐
ning la mp s are switched on automatically
depending on th e ignition st atus, whe th er th e
engine is ru nning and on th e ambient light.

WA RNING Risk of accident when th e low
beam is switched off in poor visibility
When th e light switch is set to X , th e low
beam may not be switched on automatically
if th ere is fo g, snow or ot her causes of poor
visibility such as spr ay .

Cornering light
Cornering light function
Cornering light impr ove s th e illumination of th e
ro ad ove r a wide angle in th e turning direction,
enabling better visibility in tight bends, fo r ex am‐
ple. It can on ly be activated when low beam is
swit ch ed on.
The function is active: R
At speeds below 25 mp h (40 km/h) when
th e turn signal light is switched on or th e
st eering wheel is turned. R
At speeds between 25 mp h (40 km/h) and
45 mp h (70 km/h) when th e st eering wheel
is turned.
Tr af fi c circle and intersection function: th e
cornering light is acti va te d on bo th sides th ro ugh
an ev aluation of th e cur re nt GPS position of th e
ve hicle. It re mains active until af te r th e ve hicle
has left th e traf fi c circle or th e intersection.

Ad aptive Highbeam Assist does not re cog‐
nize th e fo llowing ro ad users:R
Ro ad users without lights, e.g. pedes‐
trians R
Ro ad users with poor lighting, e.g.
cyclists R
Ro ad users whose lighting is obstructed,
e.g. by a bar ri er On ve ry ra re occasions, Ad aptive Highbeam
Assist may fa il to re cognize ot her ro ad users
with th eir ow n lighting, or may re cognize
th em to o late.
In th ese or similar situations, th e automatic
high beam is not deactivated or is activated
despite th e presence of ot her ro ad users.
