Whenthe easy entryandexitfeature adjuststhesteering wheel andthe driver's seat,youandothervehicle occupants – particularlychildren – could become trapped.
#Duringthe adjustment process oftheeasy entryandexitfeature, make surethat no one has any body parts inthesweep ofthe seat orthesteering wheel.
Ifthere is arisk of becoming trappedbythesteering wheel:
#Movethe adjustment lever ofthesteer‐ing wheel.The adjustment process isstopped.
Ifthere is arisk of becoming trappedbythedriver's seat:
#Pressthe seat adjustment switch.The adjustment process isstopped.
Vehicles with memory function:You canstopthe adjustment processbypressing one ofthememory function position buttons.

Ifchildren activatethe easy entryandexitfeature,theycan become trapped, particu‐larlywhen unattended.

#When leavingthevehicle, alwaystakethe SmartKeywithyou and lockthevehicle.
Ifthe easy entryandexitfeature is active,thesteering wheel will moveupwards andthe driv‐er's seat will moveback inthefollowing situa‐tions:
Ryou switchthe ignition off whenthe driver'sdoor is open
Ryou openthe driver's door whenthe ignitionis switched off
%Thesteering wheel will moveupwards onlyifit is not already as high as it will go. The driv‐er's seat will movebackwards only if it is notalready intherearmost position.
Thesteering wheel andthe driver's seat willmovebacktothe last drive position inthefol‐lowing cases:
Ryou switchthe power supplyorthe ignitionon whenthe driver's door is closed
Ryou closethe driver's door whenthe ignitionis switched on
The last drive position isstored inthefollowingsituations:

#Only usethe memory function onthedriver's side whenthevehicle isstation‐ary.
&WARNINGRisk of entrapment when set‐tingthe seat withthe memory function
Whenthe memory function adjuststhe seatorsteering wheel,you andothervehicleoccupants – particularlychildren – couldbecome trapped.
#Duringthe setting procedure ofthememory function, ensurethat no bodyparts are inthe sweep ofthe seat orthesteering wheel.

#If somebody becomes trapped, immedi‐atelyreleasethe memory function posi‐tion button.The adjustment process isstopped.

RDriver's side:steering wheel position andposition ofthe outside mirrorsonthe driver'sand front passenger sides
RHead-up Display#Setthe seat,thesteering wheel,the Head-upDisplay andthe outside mirrortothe desiredposition.
#Brieflypress memory button M andthenpress preset position button1,2 or 3 withinthree seconds.An acoustic signal sounds. The settings arestored.

Combustion engines emit poisonousexhaustgases such as carbon monoxide. Exhaustgases can enterthevehicle interior ifthetrunk lid is open whenthe engine isrunning,especially ifthevehicle is in motion.
#Always switch offthe engine beforeopeningthe trunk lid.
#Never drive withthe trunk lid open.
&WARNINGRisk of injuryfrom unsecureditems inthevehicle
If objects, luggage or loads are not securedor not secured sufficiently,theycould slip,tipover or bethrown around andthereby hitvehicle occupants.
There is arisk of injury,particularly intheevent of sudden braking or a suddenchangein direction.

#Beforethe journey,secure objects, lug‐gageor loads against slipping or tippingover.

#Before any contact, allowthe car partstocool down.
The drivingcharacteristics ofyourvehicle aredependent onthe distribution ofthe load withinthevehicle.You should bearthefollowing inmind when loadingthevehicle:
Rneverexceedthe permissible gross mass orthe gross axleweightratingforthevehicle(including occupants). Thevalues are speci‐fied onthevehicle identification plate onthevehicle's B-pillar.
Rthe load must not protrude abovethe upperedge ofthe seat backrests.
Ralways placethe load behind unoccupiedseats if possible.
Rsecurethe load usingthe parcel net hooks.Distributethe load onthe parcel net hooksevenly.
