ne wfuses having th ecorrect amperage .
Blown fuses must be replace dwit hfuses of th e
sam erating ,whic hyou can recognize by th e
color and value .The fus erating sare listed in th e
fus eallocation chart .The fus eallocation chart is
in th evehicl edocumen twallet .
The fuses in your vehicl eserve to close down
fault ycircuits. If afus eblows ,all th ecompo -
nent son th ecircuit and their function sstop
operating .
If anewly inserted fus ealso blows ,have th e
caus etrace dand rectifie dat aqualified special-
ist workshop, e.g. an authorize dMercedes-Ben z
Center.
!Only use fuses that have been approve dfor
Mercedes-Ben zvehicles and whic hhave th e
correct fus erating for th esystem concerned.
Otherwise, component sor systems could be
damaged.
!Mak esure that no moisture can ente rth e
fus ebox when th ecover is open .
!When closingth ecover ,mak esure that it is
lyin gcorrectly on th efus ebox .Moistur eseep -

ng in or dirt could otherwise impair th eoper -
ation of th efuses.

XSwitc hoff all electrical consumers.
XMak esure that th eignition is switched off
(Ypage 121).

to position 0in th eignition loc kand remove it

XSecur eth evehicl eagainst rollin gaway
(Ypage 137).
All indicator lamps in th einstrumen tcluste r
must be off .

XFold cover0043down and remove it .

GWARNING
When th ehoo dis open and th ewindshield
wiper sare set in motion ,you can be injured by
th ewiper linkage. Ther eis aris kof injury.
Always switch off th ewindshield wiper sand
th eignition before opening th ehood.
XOpen th ehoo d (Ypage 273).
XTo open :release retaining clamps 0043and
remove cover 0044.
XUseadry cloth to remove any moisture from
th efus ebox .
XUndo screws 0087on th efus ebox .
XRemove fus ebox cover 0085forwards .
XTo close: check whether th eseal is lyin gcor-
rectl yin cover 0085.
XInsertcover 0085at th erear of th efus ebox int o
th eretainer.
XFold down cover 0085of th efus ebox and
tighten screws 0087.
XInsertcover 0044and secure wit hretaining
clamps 0043.
XClose th ehood.
Fuse box in the trunk
XOpen th etrunk lid.
XPrise open cover 0043with a flat object at th e
to pright and to pleft-han dside .
XOpen cover 0043downwards in th edirection of
th earrow.
