Yo u can use the headlamp range adjuster toadjust

load condition. The light cone will change as the
seats are occupied or the load compartment is loa-
ded or unloaded. This can cause visibility condi-
tions todeteriorate and you could dazzle oncoming

yo u operate a turn signal indicator while the haz-
ard warning light system is switched on, only the
turn signal lamps on there leva nt side of theve hi-
cle will light up.
The hazard warning light system will switch on
automatically in thefo llowing situations:
R The airbag is deplo yed
R The vehicle is heavily braked from a speed of
more than 70 km/h toa standstill.
The hazard warning light system will automatically
switch o. when theve hicle rega ins a speed of
more than 10 km/h aTer maximum full-stop brak-

R Your speed is greater than 130 km/h.

disks which are appr ovedby Mercedes-Benz instal-

abo ve2,500 m. Otherwise, you may damage the
diesel engine.
When driving in mountainous areas, no tethat
engine output, and therefore start-o. gradeability,
will decrease with increasing ele vation. The ECO
start/stop function is no longer available when
driving at ele vations higher than 2,500 m abo ve

The maximum permissible trailer loads are valid for

TIC AIRMATIC is an air suspension system with an all-

und le vel control system, which also ensures the
best possible suspension and constant ground

cle's dis tance from the obstacle.
In addition, warning tones are emit ted. When the
distance tothe obstacle is su1cient, you will hear
an intermittent warning tone. The shor terth e dis-
ta nce tothe obstacle, the shor terth e frequency of
th e intermittent warning tones becomes. When the
minimum distance is reached, you hear a continu-
ous warning tone.
The warning display for each side of theve hicle is
divided into /ve yellow and two red segments.
PA RKTRONIC is active if measurement operational
re adiness indicator 2lights up.

The reve rsing camera is located next totheta ilgate
handle and is pr otected from raindrops and dust
by means of a 0ap. When there ve rsing camera is
activated, this 0ap opens (/ page 152).
The 0ap closes again when you ha veended the
manoeuv ring process or you switch theve hicle o..
Fo rte ch nical reasons, the 0ap may remain open
brie0y aTer there ve rsing camera has been deacti-
va ted.
Yo u can activate the automatic display function of
th ere ve rsing camera in the multimedia system
(/ page 170). When you engage reve rsege ar, the
image from there ve rsing camera is shown auto-
matically in the media displa y.Dynamic guide lines
show the path theve hicle will take forth e cur rent
steering mo vement. This helps youto orient your-
self and toavo id obstacles when reve rsing.
The reve rsing camera is only an aid. It is not a sub-
stitute foryo u paying attention tothe sur round-
ings. You are alw aysre sponsible for safe manoeu-
vring and parking. Make sure that there are no per-
sons, animals or objects etc. in the manoeuvring
area while manoeuvring and parking in parking
spaces.

The reve rsing camera may show a distor ted view of
obstacles, show them incor rectly or not at all. The re
ve rsing camera cannot show all objects which
are very near toor under there ar bumper. It will
not warnyou of a collision, people or objects.
The area behind theve hicle is displa yed as a mir-
ro r image, as in the inside rearview mir ror.
When you shiT out of reve rsege ar, the dynamic
guide lines are faded out. If, aTer shiTing out of
re ve rsege ar, you drive faster than 16 km/h, the
re ve rsing camera is deactivated.

The reve rsing camera will not function or will only
partially function in thefo llowing situations:
R ifth eta ilgate is open
R ifth ere is heavy rain, snow or fog
R ifth e light conditions are poor, e.g. at night
R ifth e camera lens is co vered, dirty or misted
up
R if cameras, or vehicle components in which the
cameras are /tted, are damaged. Ha vethe
cameras, their positions and their setting
ch ecked at a quali/ed specialist workshop.
% The media display cont rast may be impaired
due todirect sunlight or other light sources. In
th is case, pay particular attention.
% Have the media display repaired or replaced if,
fo rex ample, pixel er rors conside rably restrict
its use.
% Objects that are not at ground le vel appear
fur ther aw ay than they actual lyare. This
includes, forex ample:
R the bumper of a vehicle par ked behind
R the dr awbar of a trailer
R the ball neck of a trailer hitch
R theta il-end of a lor ry
R slanted posts
Only use the guide lines of the camera image
fo r orientation. Do not tr avel fur ther than the
lo we st ho rizontal guide line when app roaching
objects. You may otherwise damage your vehi-
cle and/or the object.
