 Avoid using the washer for more than 20 sec- onds at a time. Do not operate the washerwhen the washer fluid reservoir is empty orthe pump may fail.  During cold weather, add a recommended washer solution that will not freeze in the washer fluid reservoir. The light illuminates when a door is opened. It goes off approximately 30 sec-onds after the door is closed. However, the light goes off immediately with all doors closed in the followingcases: • When the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position or the operation mode isput in ON. • When the power door lock function is used to lock the vehicle. • When the remote control transmitter of the keyless entry system or the F.A.S.T.-key is used to lock the vehicle. • When the door lock/unlock switch is pressed to lock the vehicle while carry-ing the F.A.S.T.-key. Auto cut-out function If the light is left switched on with theignition switch in the “OFF” or “ACC” position or the operation mode in OFF or ACC, and a door is opened, it goes offautomatically after approximately 30 min- utes. The light will illuminate again after itautomatically goes off in the following cases: • When the ignition switch is turned to the“ON” position or the operation mode is put in ON. • When the keyless entry system or theF.A.S.T.-key is operated.

greatest fuel economy are listed below.  Whenever accelerating from a stop, always accelerate

cially when the brakes are wet, to confirm they work normally.A film of water can be formed on the brake discs or brake drums, and prevent normal braking after driving in heavy rain or throughlarge puddles, or after the vehicle is washed. move the selector lever out of the “P”(PARK) position. Never leave the engine running while you take a short nap or rest. Also, never leave the engine running in a closed or poorly venti- lated place. Your front bumper can be damaged if you scrape it over curbs or parking stop blocks. Be careful when traveling up or down steep slopes where your bumper can scrape theroad.
More effort could be required to turn the steering wheel. Refer to “Electric
power steering system
(EPS)” on page 5-51. Always carry the key and lock all doors when leaving the vehicle unattended. Always try to park your vehicle in a well lit area.
