Turn signal lever

When changing lanes, or
to making a gradual
turn, hold the lever in the “lane change” posi- tion (1). It will return
to the neutral position
when you let go. Use the full position (2) when making a normal turn. The lever will return to the neutral position when the turn iscomplete. There may be times when the lever does not return to the neutral position. This usually happens when the steering wheel is turned only slightly. You
can easily return the
lever by hand.Also, when you move the lever to (1) slightly then release it, the turn signal lights and the indicator light in the instrument cluster willflash three times.
 Keep the knob in the “0” position except when using the knob to lower the headlightbeam angle.  Always return the knob to the “0” position when the load is removed and the peoplehave left
the vehicle.

A light in the instrument panel flashes to show when the front and rear turn signallights are working properly.If this light flashes fa
ster than usual, check
for a burned out turn signal light bulb or mal- functioning connection in the signal.If the panel light does not come on when the lever is moved, check for a blown fuse or a burned out bulb in the panel.Have the system inspected by your autho- rized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice.  It is possible to modi
fy functions as follows:
• Deactivate the turn signal light 3-flash function for lane changes. • Adjust the time required to operate the lever for the 3-flash function. See your authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer for details. For vehicles equipped with the SmartphoneLink Display Audio, adjustments can be made using screen ope
rations. For further
details, refer to the
separate owner’s manual.
 It is possible to change the tone of a sound- ing buzzer as the turn signal lights flash.[Vehicle equipped with the multi information display - type 1] Refer to “Changing the turn-signal sound”on page 5-174. 4. Use the fuse location diagrams and the matching tables, to check the fuse that isrelated to the problem. If the fuse is not blown, something else
must be causing
the problem. Have the system inspectedby your authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair fa
cility of your choice.
5. Insert a new fuse of the same capacity securely into the appropriate slot.

Before replacing the bulb, be sure the light is off. Do not touch the glass part of the new bulb with your bare fingers; the oil from yourskin will stay on the
glass and dim or destroy
the bulb when it gets hot.

CAUTION Never use a fuse with a capacity greater than the one listed or any substitute, such as wire, foil etc. This would
cause the circuit wiring
to heat up and could cause a fire. If the replacement fuse blows again after a short time, have the electrical systemchecked by an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair fa
cility of your choice to
find and correct the cause.
Replacement of light bulbs
CAUTION Bulbs are extremely hot immediately after being turned off. When replacing the bulb, wait for it to coolsufficiently before
touching it. You could
otherwise be burned.
 Handle halogen light bul
b with care. The gas
inside a halogen light
bulb is highly pressur-
ized, so dropping, knocking, or scratching ahalogen light bulb can
cause it to shatter.
Never hold the halogen
light bulb with a bare
hand, dirty glove, etc. The oil from your hand could cause the bulb to break the next ti
me the headlights are
used. If the glass surface is dirty, clean it with alcohol and let it dry completely beforeinstalling the bulb.CAUTION Do not install commercially available LED- type bulbs. Commercially available LED- type bulbs could advers
ely affect the opera-
tion of the vehicle, such as by preventing thelights and other vehi
cle equipment from
operating properly.CAUTION

washed, the inside of the lens sometimes becomes temporarily foggy. This is the samephenomenon as when window glass mists up on a humid day, and does not indicate a func- tional problem.When the light is switched on, the heat will remove the fog. However, if water gathers inside the light, please
have it checked by an
authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice.
Bulb location and capacity
CAUTION When replacing a bulb, be sure to use a new bulb of the same type, wattage, and color.If you install a different bulb, the bulb couldmalfunction or fail to come on and could lead to a vehicle fire.

1. When replacing the bulb on the left side of the vehicle, remove the bolts (A) hold- ing down the relay box and the sub fuseblock, and then move them toward the rear of the vehicle.
(if so equipped)
2. Turn the cap (B) counterclockwise to remove it. 3. Turn the socket (C) counterclockwise to remove it, and then pull the bulb out of the socket.
4. To install the bulb, perform the removal steps in reverse.

1. When replacing the bulb on the right side of the vehicle, remove the clip (A) hold-ing down the washer
tank spout and move
the spout toward the rear of the vehicle. 2. Turn the cap (B) counterclockwise to remove it.
3. Turn the bulb (C) counterclockwise to remove it and then while holding downthe tab (D), pull out the bulb (E). 4. To install the bulb, perform the removal steps in reverse.
