Manual operation of sunroof EF09B -Aa
If the switch develops a malfunction and
the sunroof will not move, use the fol­lowing procedure to open and close it:
1. Take the
sunroof wrench and the screwdriver out of the tool box.
2. To remove the cover, insert the end of a screwdriver and break the pawl of the cover attachment.
NOTE
Wrap a piece
of cloth around the tip of the screwdriver in order to avoid scratching the cover.
3. Fit for long end of the sunroof wrench into the screwdriver's multi­purpose handle. Next. insert the wrench into the sunroof motor drive shaft and close the sunroof by turn­
ing the wrench anti-clockwise.

Turn-signal indication lamps -green ED52A·C
These indication lamps blink on and off when a
turn -signal lamp
is blinking. If the blinking is
too fast the cause may be a faulty connection
of the turn-signal or a failure of the bulb of the turn -signal lamp.
High-beam indication lamp-blue ED51A·A
This indication lamp illuminates when the high beams are on.

During the running-in period for the first
1 ,000 km (600 miles) , it is advisable to drive your new vehicle using the follow­
ing precautions as a guideline to aid long life as well as future economy and
performance.
(1) Do not race the engine at high speeds . (2) Avoid rapid starting, accelerating ,
braking and prolonged high-speed running. (3) Keep to the running-in speed limit shown below.
Please note that the legal speed limits displayed must be adhered to. (4) Do not exceeed loading limits.

Tavallisessa kaytossa ei ole muita varo­toimenpiteita kuin Iyijyttoman bensiinin
kaytto. Pakokaasun
puhdistuslaite yhdessa ka­
talysaattorin kanssa on erittain tehokas
vaarallisten kaasujen vahentamisessa .
Katalysaattori asennetaan pakokaasujar ­
jestelmaan .
Koska
se kuumenee ajon jalkeen, seuraavat kohdat tulisi turval­
lisuussyista ottaa huomioon. • Alkaa pysakoiko autoa helposti palavien materiaalien la-
heisyyteen .
• Katalysaattoria ei
saa valimaalata.
Itse katalysaattori kuumenee helposti ja se saattaa vahingoittua ylikuumenemisesta. Seuraavia kohtia pitaa noudattaa palamat­
toman
bensiinin syttymisen ehkaisemiseksi katalysaattorin
sisalla.
• Alkaa
sammuttako virtakytkinta ajon aikana .
• Alkaa KOSKAAN yrittako kaynnistaa moottoria tyontamalla autoa. Jos akku on heikko tai tyhja , kayttakaa
toista akkua kaynnistamiseen.
• Pysayttakaa
auto, jos huomaatte tehon heikenneen tai jos moottori pyorii tarpeettomasti tai huomaatte jotain muuta vikaa esimerkiksi sytytyksessa jne.
• Jos on mahdotonta pysayttaa auto heti, vahentakaa no­peutta ja jatkakaa ajoa vain Iyhyen matkan. Tarkastuttakaa auto lahimmassa MITSUBISHI-huoltoliikkeessa niin pian kuin mahdollista.
• Alkaa ryntayttako moottoria silloin kun sammutatte vir­takytkimen jotta katalysaattorei vaurioituisi palamatto­masta bensiinista .

Catalytic converter EC18A-Da
For ordinary use, there are no particular cautions except to use unleaded petrol.
The exhaust gas scavenging device with catalytic converter is extremely efficient for the reduction of noxious gases . The catalytic converter is installed in the ex­haust gas system .
Because it becomes
hot after driving, the following points shou ld be noted for safety.
• Do not park the vehicle on or near easily flammable
materials.
•
An undercoating paint should not be applied to the cata-
lyti c converter.
The catalytic converter itself becomes
hot easily, and may be
damaged if overheated. The following points should be noted in order to prevent the ignition of unburned petrol within the catalytic converter.
• Do not switch OFF the ignition switch while driving. • Do not try to start the engine by pushing the vehicle. If the battery is weak or discharged . us e another battery to start
the engine.
• Stop driving the vehicle if you think the performance is noticeably less , or that there is unnecessary engine rota­tion, or any other engine trouble, such as with the ignition, etc.
• If it is impractical to stop driving immediately, reduce the speed and drive for only a short time. Have an inspection made by a nearby authorized MITSUBISHI dealer as soon as possible .
• Do not race the engine when turning off the ignition switch to prevent catalytic converter from being damaged due to unburnt gas.

Vaihde vaihtuu automaattisesti alueella
1. vaihde 4. vaihde, jos valitsinvipu on
asennossa "0".
Jos nopea kiihdytys tai moottorijarrutus a lama essa on tarpeen , painakaa ylivaih­
teen kytkinta viela kerran , niin se lakkaa
toimimasta.
Merkkivalo kojelaudassa syttyy ja vaihde
vaihtuu automaattisesti ainoastaan ra­
joissa 1. vaihde 3. vaihde . OFF
2-SECOND This position is for extra power when driving up moderately
steep hills, and for engine braking when descending moder­
ately steep grades.
L-LOW This position is for driving up very steep hills and for engine braking at low speeds when descending steep grades .

Overdrive control switch EI04C·Ba
During ordinary driving, the overdrive switch should be left in the pressed-in
position (the indication lamp in the in­
strument panel is off). Automatic shifting will be performed in
the range from 1 st gear through 4th gear if the selector lever is set at "0 ".
When you need quick acceleration or engine braking power on a downhill grade , or when you are going to go up a
long hill, press the overdrive switch once again to cancel the overdrive function. The indication lamp in the instrument panel lights up and automatic shifting will be performed in the range from 1 st
gear through 3rd gear only.

Driving on sandy or muddy roads
Set the transfer shift lever to "4LLc" (Super select 4WO) or "4L" (Part time 4WO), and then gradually depress the acceler­
ator pedal
for a smooth start. Keep the pressure on the
accelerator pedal as constant as possible, and drive at low speed.
NOTE (1) Avoid sudden braking, acceleration , and turning; such operations could resu lt in the vehic le becoming stuck. (2) If it is necessary to drive in extremely muddy conditions, the use of tyre chains is recomme nded. (3) If the vehicle becomes stuck, place stones , tree branches ,
etc. under the tyres to provide traction, or rock the vehicle back and forth to get it loose . (4) Because the extent of muddy conditions is difficult to judge and the vehicle could become bogged down very
deeply, operation should be at a low speed . If possible , get out of the vehicle and check the conditions ahead before
proceeding .
& CAUTION Driving over roads in coastal areas or roads on which anti-skid preparations have been spread can cause rust on the vehicle; wash the vehicle thoroughly as soon as
possible after such use.
