TP SEN 1-B1 [V]
The throttle position sensor signal voltage is dis-
played.
THRTL SEN 2-B1 signal is converted by ECM
internally. Thus, it differs from ECM terminal
voltage signal. TP SEN 2-B1 [V]
FUEL T/TMP SE [°C]
or [°F]

The fuel temperature (determined by the signal volt-
age of the fuel tank temperature sensor) is displayed.
INT/A TEMP SE [°C] or
[°F]

The intake air temperature (determined by the signal
voltage of the intake air temperature sensor) is indi-
cated.
EVAP SYS PRES [V]

The signal voltage of EVAP control system pressure
sensor is displayed.
FUEL LEVEL SE [V]

The signal voltage of the fuel level sensor is displayed.
START SIGNAL [ON/
OFF]

Indicates start signal status [ON/OFF] computed by
the ECM according to the signals of engine speed and
battery voltage.
After starting the engine, [OFF] is displayed
regardless of the starter signal.
CLSD THL POS [ON/
OFF]

Indicates idle position [ON/OFF] computed by ECM
according to the accelerator pedal position sensor sig-
nal.
AIR COND SIG [ON/
OFF]

Indicates [ON/OFF] condition of the air conditioner
switch as determined by the air conditioner signal.
P/N POSI SW
[ON/OFF]

Indicates [ON/OFF] condition from the park/neutral
position (PNP) switch signal.
PW/ST SIGNAL [ON/
OFF]

[ON/OFF] condition of the power steering system
(determined by the signal voltage of the power steer-
ing pressure sensor) is indicated.
LOAD SIGNAL [ON/
OFF]

Indicates [ON/OFF] condition from the electrical load
signal.
ON: Rear window defogger switch is ON and/or light-
ing switch is in 2nd position.
OFF: Both rear window defogger switch and lighting
switch are OFF.

Indicates [ON/OFF] condition from ignition switch sig-
nal.
HEATER FAN SW
[ON/OFF]

Indicates [ON/OFF] condition from the heater fan
switch signal.
BRAKE SW
[ON/OFF]

Indicates [ON/OFF] condition from the stop lamp
switch signal.
INJ PULSE-B1 [msec]

Indicates the actual fuel injection pulse width compen-
sated by ECM according to the input signals.
When the engine is stopped, a certain com-
puted value is indicated.
INJ PULSE-B2 [msec]
IGN TIMING [BTDC]

Indicates the ignition timing computed by ECM
according to the input signals.
When the engine is stopped, a certain value is
indicated.
CAL/LD VALUE [%]

“Calculated load value” indicates the value of the cur-
rent air flow divided by peak air flow.
MASS AIRFLOW [g·m/
s]

Indicates the mass air flow computed by ECM accord-
ing to the signal voltage of the mass air flow sensor.
PURG VOL C/V [%]

Indicates the EVAP canister purge volume control
solenoid valve control value computed by the ECM
according to the input signals.

The opening becomes larger as the value increases.
INT/V TIM(B1) [°CA]

Indicates [°CA] of intake camshaft advanced angle.
INT/V TIM(B2) [°CA]
EXH/V TIM B1 [°CA]

Indicates [°CA] of exhaust camshaft retarded angle.

A/F ADJ-B1

Indicates the correction of factor stored in ECM. The
factor is calculated from the difference between the
target air-fuel ratio stored in ECM and the air-fuel ratio
calculated from A/F sensor 1 signal. A/F ADJ-B2
Voltage [V]

Voltage, frequency, duty cycle or pulse width mea-
sured by the probe.

Only “#” is displayed if item is unable to be
measured.

Figures with “#”s are temporary ones. They
are the same figures as an actual piece of data
which was just previously measured. Frequency [msec], [Hz]

4. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to EC-254, "
Diagnostic Procedure" .
With GST
Follow the procedure “With CONSULT-III” above.
PROCEDURE FOR MALFUNCTION B
CAUTION:
Always drive vehicle at a safe speed.
With CONSULT-III
1. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
2. Select “A/F SEN1 (B1)” or “A/F SEN1 (B2)” in “DATA MONITOR” mode with CONSULT-III.
3. Check “A/F SEN1 (B1)” or “A/F SEN1 (B2)” indication.
If the indication is constantly approx. 1.5V and does not fluctuates, go to EC-254, "
Diagnostic Procedure" .
If the indication fluctuates around 1.5V, go to next step.
4. Select “A/F SEN1 (B1) P1276” (for DTC P0130) or “A/F SEN1 (B2) P1286” (for DTC P0150) of “A/F
SEN1” in “DTC WORK SUPPORT” mode with CONSULT-III.
5. Touch “START”.
6. When the following conditions are met, “TESTING” will be displayed on the CONSULT-III screen.
If “TESTING” is not displayed after 20 seconds, retry from step 2.
7. Release accelerator pedal fully.
NOTE:
Never apply brake during releasing the accelerator pedal.
8. Make sure that “TESTING” changes to “COMPLETED”.
If “TESTING” changed to “OUT OF CONDITION”, retry from step 6.
9. Make sure that “OK” is displayed after touching “SELF-DIAG RESULT”.
If “NG” is displayed, go to EC-254, "
Diagnostic Procedure" .
Overall Function CheckNBS006U7
Use this procedure to check the overall function of the A/F sensor 1 circuit. During this check, a 1st trip DTC
might not be confirmed.
WITH GST
1. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
2. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 80 km/h (50 MPH) for a few minutes in the suitable gear position.
3. Set shift lever to D position (A/T) or 5th position (M/T), then release the accelerator pedal fully until the
vehicle speed decreases to 50 km/h (30 MPH).
NOTE:
Never apply brake during releasing the accelerator pedal.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for five times.
5. Stop the vehicle and turn ignition switch OFF.
6. Wait at least 10 seconds and restart engine.
7. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for five times.
8. Stop the vehicle and connect GST to the vehicle.
9. Make sure that no 1st trip DTC is displayed.
If the 1st trip DTC is displayed, go to EC-254, "
Diagnostic Procedure" .
