Connected Devices:
Registered devices are shown on the list.
Select a Bluetooth® device from the list,
the following options will be available.
.Select
Select “Select” to connect the selected
device to the vehicle. If there is a
different device currently connected,
the selected device will replace the
current device.
. Edit
Rename the selected Bluetooth® de-
vice using the keypad displayed on
the screen. (See “How to use touch
screen” (P.4-5).)
. Delete
Delete the selected Bluetooth® device.
Edit Bluetooth Info:
Change the name broadcasted by this
system over Bluetooth®. Change the PIN
code that is entered when connecting a
hands free device to this system.
Replace Connected Phone:
Replace the Bluetooth® connection with a
connected Bluetooth® cellular phone. For
details about Hands-Free Phone System,
see “Bluetooth® hands-free phone system
(models with navigation system)” (P.4-82).iPod® PLAYER OPERATION (models
with navigation system)
Connecting iPod®
WARNING
Do not connect, disconnect or oper-
ate the USB device while driving.
Doing so can be a distraction. If
distracted you could lose control of
your vehicle and cause an accident
or serious injury.
CAUTION
. Do not force the USB device into
the USB connection port. Insert-
ing the USB device tilted or up-
side-down into the port may da-
mage the port. Make sure that
the USB device is connected cor-
rectly into the USB connection
port.
. Do not grab the USB connection
port cover (if so equipped) when
pulling the USB device out of the
port. This could damage the port
and the cover. .
Do not leave the USB cable in a
place where it can be pulled
unintentionally. Pulling the cable
may damage the port.
Refer to your device manufacturer’s own-
er information regarding the proper use
and care of the device.

Next/Previous Track and
Fast Forward/Rewind:
When the
orbutton is pushed for
more than 1.5 seconds while the iPod® is
playing, the iPod® will play while fast
forwarding or rewinding. When the but-
ton is released, the iPod® will return to the
normal play speed.
When the
orbutton is pushed for
less than 1.5 seconds while the iPod® is
playing, the next track or the beginning of
the current track on the iPod® will be
played.
When the rewind button is pushed for less
than 1.5 seconds within 3 seconds after
the current track starts playing, the pre- vious track will be played.
The multi-function controller can also be
used to select tracks when the iPod® is
playing.
REPEAT (RPT), RANDOM (RDM):
When the RPT button is pushed while a
track is being played, the play pattern can
be changed as follows:

AUXILIARY INPUT JACKS (models
with navigation system)
The auxiliary input jacks are located in the
center console. NTSC/PAL compatible
devices such as video games, camcorders
and portable video players can be con-
nected to the auxiliary jacks. Compatible
audio devices, such as some MP3 players,
can also be connected to the system
through the auxiliary jacks.
The auxiliary jacks are color coded for
identification purposes.

CD/DVD/USB MEMORY CARE AND
CLEANING
CD/DVD
.Handle a CD/DVD by its edges. Never
touch the surface of the disc. Do not
bend the disc.
. Always place the discs in the storage
case when they are not being used.
. To clean a disc, wipe the surface from
the center to the outer edge using a
clean, soft cloth. Do not wipe the disc
using a circular motion.
Do not use a conventional record
cleaner or alcohol intended for indus-
trial use. .
A new disc may be rough on the inner
and outer edges. Remove the rough
edges by rubbing the inner and outer
edges with the side of a pen or pencil
as illustrated.
USB memory
.Do not touch the terminal portion of
the USB memory.
. Do not place heavy objects on the USB
memory.
. Do not store the USB memory in
highly humid locations.
. Do not expose the USB memory to
direct sunlight.
. Do not spill any liquids on the USB
memory.

While the display is showing a MAP
(navigation systems only), STATUS or
Audio screen, tilt the switch upward or
downward to select a station, track, CD or
folder. For most audio sources, tilting the
switch up/down for more than 1.5 sec-
onds provides a different function than
tilting up/down for less than 1.5 seconds.
AM and FM radio:
. Tilting up/down for less than 1.5
seconds will scroll up or down
through the preset station.
. Tilting up/down for more than 1.5
seconds will seek up or down to the
next station.
. Pushing the menu control switch will
show the list of preset stations. SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (if so
equipped):

ANTENNA
Window antenna (for Coupe mod-
els)
The antenna pattern is printed inside the
rear window.
CAUTION
. Do not place metalized film near
the rear window glass or attach
any metal parts to it. This may
cause poor reception or noise.
. When cleaning the inside of the
rear window, be careful not to
scratch or damage the rear win-
dow antenna. Lightly wipe along
the antenna with a dampened
soft cloth.

Removing the antenna:
You can remove the antenna if necessary.
Hold the bottom of the antenna and
remove by turning counterclockwise.
To install the antenna, turn the antenna
clockwise and tighten.

the antenna, be sure to remove
the antenna under the following

To avoid draining the vehicle battery,
use a phone after starting the en-
gine.
Your vehicle is equipped with Bluetooth®
Hands-Free Phone System. If you are an
owner of a compatible Bluetooth® en-
abled cellular phone, you can set up the
wireless connection between your cellu-
lar phone and the in-vehicle phone mod-
ule. With Bluetooth® wireless technology,
you can make or receive a telephone call with your cellular phone in your pocket.
Once a cellular phone is connected to the
in-vehicle phone module, no phone con-
necting procedure is required anymore.
Your phone is automatically connected
with the in-vehicle phone module when
the ignition switch is pushed to the ON
position with the registered cellular
phone turned on and carried in the
vehicle.
You can register up to 5 different Blue-
tooth® cellular phones in the in-vehicle
phone module. However, you can talk on
only one cellular phone at a time.
The NISSAN Voice Recognition system
supports the phone commands, so dial-
ing a phone number using your voice is
possible. For more details, see “NISSAN
Voice Recognition System (models with
navigation system)” (P.4-105).
Before using the Bluetooth® Hands-Free
Phone System, refer to the following
notes.
.
Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) and the Blue-
tooth® functions share the same fre-
quency band (2.4 GHz). Using the
Bluetooth® and the wireless LAN func-
tions at the same time may slow down
or disconnect the communication and
cause undesired noise. It is recom-
mended that you turn off the wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) when using the Bluetooth®
functions.
. Set up the wireless connection be-
tween a compatible cellular phone
and the in-vehicle phone module be-
fore using the Bluetooth® Hands-Free
Phone System.
. Some Bluetooth® enabled cellular
phones may not be recognized by
the in-vehicle phone module. Please
visit
www.nissanusa.com/bluetooth for a
recommended phone list.
. You will not be able to use a hands-
free phone under the following condi-
tions:
— Your vehicle is outside of the tele-
phone service area.
— Your vehicle is in an area where it is difficult to receive radio waves;
such as in a tunnel, in an under-
ground parking garage, behind a
tall building or in a mountainous
area.
— Your cellular phone is locked in order not to be dialed.
. When the radio wave condition is not
ideal or ambient sound is too loud, it
may be difficult to hear the other
person’s voice during a call.

Editing the Quick Dial
1. Push the SETTING button and selectthe “Phone” key.
2. Select the “Edit Quick Dial” key.
3. Select the desired entry from the displayed list.
4. Select the desired item to change.

. Entry #
Changes the displayed number of the
selected entry.
. Name
Edit the name of the entry using the
keypad displayed on the screen.
. Number
Edit the phone number using the
keypad displayed on the screen.
. Type
Select an icon from the icon list.
. Voicetag
Confirm and store the voicetag. Voi-
cetags allow easy dialing using the NISSAN Voice Recognition system.

(P.4-105).)
To delete an entry, select the “Delete” key
at step 3.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
The system should respond correctly to all voice commands without difficulty. If problems are encountered, try the following
solutions.
Where the solutions are listed by number, try each solution in turn, starting with number 1, until the problem is resolved.
SymptomSolution
The system fails to interpret the
command correctly. 1. Ensure that the command is valid. (See “NISSAN Voice Recognition System (models with navigation system)”
(P.4-105).)
2. Ensure that the command is spoken after the tone.
3. Speak clearly without pausing between words and at a level appropriate to the ambient noise level in the
vehicle.
4. Ensure that the ambient noise level is not excessive (for example, windows open or defroster on). NOTE: If it is
too noisy to use the phone, it is likely that the voice commands will not be recognized.
5. If more than one command was said at a time, try saying the commands separately.
The system consistently selects the
wrong voicetag. 1. Ensure that the voicetag requested matches what was originally stored. (See “Quick Dial” (P.4-85).)
2. Replace one of the names being confused with a new name.
The system cannot be operated. Close the soft top (for Roadster models).

have a compatible Bluetooth® enabled

NISSAN Voice Recognition allows hands-
free operation of the Phone, Navigation,
Information and Audio systems in one of
two modes, Standard Mode or Alternate
Command Mode.
In Standard Mode, commands that are
available are always shown on the display
and announced by the system. You can
complete your desired operation by sim-
ply following the prompts given by the
system. (See “NISSAN voice recognition
Standard Mode” (P.4-105) for details.)
For advanced operation, you can use the
Alternate Command Mode. (See “NISSAN
voice recognition Alternate Command
Mode” (P.4-116) for details.) When this
mode is active, an expanded list of
commands can be spoken after pushing
the TALK
switch, and the voice
command menu prompts are turned off.
Review the expanded command list,
which is available when this mode is
active. Note that in this mode the recog-
nition success rate may be affected as
the number of available commands and
the ways of speaking each command are
increased.
To switch one mode to another, see each
mode description later in this section.
To improve the recognition success rate
when Alternate Command Mode is active,
try using the Speaker Adaptation Func- tion available in that mode. Otherwise, it
is recommended that Alternate Com-
mand Mode be turned off and Standard
Mode be used for the best recognition
performance.
For the voice commands for the naviga-
tion system, refer to the Navigation Sys-
tem Owner’s Manual of your vehicle.
For Roadster models:
The voice recognition system cannot be
operated when the soft top is not closed.
NISSAN VOICE RECOGNITION
STANDARD MODE
The following section is applicable when
the Standard Mode is activated.
The Standard Mode enables you to com-
plete the desired operation by simply
following the prompts that appear on
the display and also are announced by

Activating Standard Mode
When the Alternate Command Mode is
active, perform the following steps to
switch to the Standard Mode.
1. Push the SETTING button on the
instrument panel.
2. Select the “Others” key.
3. Select the “Voice Recognition” key.
