Trip computer reset
Pressing the change/reset button for more than
3 seconds will reset all modes except Trip A and
distance to empty.This unit has the following functions:
● Measures terrestrial magnetism and indi-
cates heading direction of vehicle
● Indicates outside air temperature
With the ignition switch in the ON position, press
the
orbutton as described in the
charts below to activate various features of the
automatic anti-glare rearview mirror.
Type A (if so equipped)
Press and hold
the

1 second Compass toggles on/off
8 seconds Automatic anti-glare/indicator light

11 seconds Compass zone can be changed to
correct false compass readings

CAUTION
●Do not install a ski rack, antenna, etc.,
which are attached to the vehicle by
means of a magnet. They affect the op-
eration of the compass.
● When cleaning the mirror, use a paper
towel or similar material dampened
with glass cleaner. Do not spray glass
cleaner directly on the mirror as it may
cause the liquid cleaner to enter the
mirror housing.

SWITCH OPERATION
The windshield wiper and washer operates when
the ignition switch is in the ON position.
Push the lever down to operate the wiper at the
following speed:
1Intermittent (INT) — intermittent operation
can be adjusted by turning the knob toward
A(Slower) orB(Faster)
2Low (LO) — continuous low speed operation
3High (HI) — continuous high speed opera-
tion Push the lever up
4to have one sweep opera-
tion (MIST) of the wiper.
Pull the lever toward you
5to operate the
washer. The wiper will also operate several times.
WARNING
In freezing temperatures the washer solu-
tion may freeze on the windshield and
obscure your vision which may lead to an
accident. Warm the windshield with the
defroster before you wash the windshield.
CAUTION
● Do not operate the washer continuously
for more than 30 seconds.
● Do not operate the washer if the reser-
voir tank is empty. To defrost the rear window glass (if so equipped) ,
start the engine and push the rear window de-
froster switch on. The rear window defroster in-
dicator light on the switch comes on. Push the
switch again to turn the defroster off.
To defrost the outside mirrors (if so equipped) ,
start the engine and push the outside mirror
defroster switch on. The outside mirror defroster
indicator light on the switch comes on. Push the
switch again to turn the defroster off.
The rear window/outside mirror defroster auto-
matically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.Type B (if so equipped)

VANITY MIRRORS (if so equipped)
To access the vanity mirror, pull the sun visor
down and flip open the mirror cover. Some vanity
mirrors are illuminated and turn on when the
mirror cover is open.
MANUAL ANTI-GLARE REARVIEW
MIRROR (if so equipped)
Use the night position1to reduce glare from
the headlights of vehicles behind you at night.
Use the day position
2when driving in daylight
hours.
WARNING
Use the night position only when neces-
sary, because it reduces rear view clarity.
AUTOMATIC ANTI-GLARE
REARVIEW MIRROR (if so equipped)
The inside mirror is designed so that it automati-
cally dims during night time conditions and ac-
cording to the intensity of the headlights of the
vehicle following you. The automatic anti-glare
feature is activated when the ignition switch is in
the ON position.
The indicator light
2will illuminate when the
automatic anti-glare feature is operating.
NOTE:
Do not hang any objects over the sensors
1or apply glass cleaner to the sensors.
Doing so will reduce the sensitivity of the
