The alarm is activated by:
.Openin�f the door or the trunk lid �bithout
usin�f the button on the Intelli�fent Key, the
door handle request s�bitch or the mechan-
ical key. (Even if the door is opened by
releasin�f the door inside lock knob, the
alarm �bill activate.)
. Openin�f the hood.
How to stop an activated alarm
The alarm �bill stop by:
.Unlockin�f a door by pushin�f the UNLOCK
button on the Intelli�fent Key.
. Unlockin�f a door by pushin�f the door
handle request s�bitch.
. Pushin�f the i�fnition s�bitch to the ACC or
ON position.
If the system does not operate as de-
scribed above, have it checked by a GT-R
certified NISSAN dealer.
NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER
SYSTEM
The NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System �bill not
allo�b the en�fine to start �bithout the use of the
re�fistered Intelli�fent Key. Never leave these
keys in the vehicle. FCC Notice:

Security indicator light
The security indicator li�fht is located on the
instrument panel. It indicates the status of the
NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System.
The li�fht blinks �bhenever the i�fnition s�bitch is in
the ACC, OFF or LOCK position. This function
indicates the security systems equipped on the
vehicle are operational.
If the NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System is
malfunctionin�f, this li�fht �bill remain on �bhile the
i�fnition s�bitch is in the ON position.
If the light still remains on and/or the
engine will not start, see a GT-R certified
NISSAN dealer for NISSAN Vehicle Immo-

Please bring all Intelligent Keys that you
have when visiting a GT-R certified
NISSAN dealer for service.
WARNING
In freezing temperatures the washer
solution may freeze on the windshield
and obscure your vision which may lead
to an accident. Warm windshield with
the defroster before you wash the
windshield.
NOTICE
.Do not operate the washer continu-
ously for more than 30 seconds.
. Do not operate the washer if the
reservoir tank is empty.
. Do not fill the window washer
reservoir tank with washer fluid
concentrates at full strength. Some
methyl alcohol based washer fluid
concentrates may permanently stain
the grille if spilled while filling the
window washer reservoir tank.
. Pre-mix washer fluid concentrates
with water to the manufacturer’s
recommended levels before pouring
the fluid into the window washer
reservoir tank. Do not use the window washer reservoir tank to
mix the washer fluid concentrate
and water.
The windshield wiper and washer operates
when the ignition swit\fh is in the ON position.

DOOR POCKET
Door pockets are located inside the dri\fer’s side
and passenger’s side doors.
NOTICE
Do not grasp the door pockets to open
and close the doors. Doing so may
damage the pockets.
GLOVE BOX
WARNING
Keep glove box lid closed while driving
to help prevent injury in an accident or a
sudden stop.
\bull the knob toward you to open the glo\fe box.
To close the glo\fe box, press the lid forward until
it locks in place.
Use the mechanical key to lock*1and unlock
*2the glo\fe box. (“Mechanical key” page
3-3)
The mechanical key stops when it is inserted
approximately halfway in.

NOTE:
The lights will also turn off after a period of
time when the lights remain illuminated
after the ignition switch has been pushed
to the OFF or LOCK position to prevent the
battery from becoming discharged.
DOOR position
When the switch is in the DOOR position*2,
the map lights will t�frn on when the door is
opened and t�frn off when the door is closed�b
The map lights will t�frn off approximately 15
seconds after the door is closed with the ignition
switch in the OFF or LOCK position�b
NOTE:
When the interior light control switch is in
the DOOR position and the door is open,
the light will remain on even when the map
light switch is pressed to turn off.
Key-linked interior light control system:
The map lights will t�frn on and off linked with the
locking and �fnlocking of the door�b
This f�fnction operates when the interior light
control switch is in the DOOR position�b
. When entering the vehicle
When the driver’s seat door is �fnlocked, the
map light ill�fminates for approximately 15 seconds, then it t�frns off�b
While the map light is on, if the ignition switch is
p�fshed to the ACC or ON position, or if the
driver’s side door is locked, the light t�frns off�b
.
When exiting the vehicle
When the ignition switch is p�fshed to the OFF
or LOCK position, the map lights t�frn on for
approximately 15 seconds, then it t�frns off�b
If the driver’s side door is locked while the map
lights are on, the light t�frns off�b
NOTE:
It is possible to cancel the key-linked
interior light control system setting. See
the separate Multi Function Display Own-
er’s Manual.
OFF position
When the switch is in the OFF position*3, the
map lights will not ill�fminate, regardless of any
condition�b
There is an ill�fminated vanity mirror on the
reverse side of the s�fn visor�b

A key number plate is supplied �fith your keys.
�becord the key number and keep it in a safe
place (such as your �fallet) , not in the vehicle. If
you lose your keys, see a GT-�b certified
NISSAN dealer for duplicates by using the key
number. NISSAN does not record any key
numbers so it is very important to keep track of
your key number plate.
A key number is only necessary �fhen you have
lost all keys and do not have one to duplicate
from. If you still have a key, this key can be
duplicated by a GT-�b certified NISSAN dealer.
1. Intelligent Key (2 sets)
2. Mechanical key (inside Intelligent Keys) (2 sets)
3. Key number plate (1 set)
INTELLIGENT KEY
Your vehicle can only be driven �fith the
Intelligent Keys �fhich are registered to your
vehicle’s Intelligent Key system components and
NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System compo-
nents. As many as 4 Intelligent Keys can be
registered and used �fith one vehicle. The ne�f
keys must be registered by a GT-�b certified
NISSAN dealer prior to use �fith the Intelligent
Key system and NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer
System of your vehicle. Since the registrationprocess requires erasing all memory in the
Intelligent Key components �fhen registering
ne�f keys, be sure to take all Intelligent Keys
that you have to a GT-�b certified NISSAN
dealer.
NOTICE
.
Be sure to carry the Intelligent Key
with you when driving. The Intelli-
gent Key is a precision device with a
built-in transmitter. To avoid dama-
ging it, please note the following.
— The Intelligent Key is water
resistant; however, wetting may
damage the Intelligent Key. If
the Intelligent Key gets wet,
immediately wipe until it is com-
pletely dry.
— Do not bend, drop or strike it against another object.
— Do not place the Intelligent Key for an extended period in a
place where temperatures ex-
ceed 1408F (608C) .
— If the outside temperature is below 148F( í108C) , the battery
of the Intelligent Key may not

function properly.
— Do not change or modify the Intelligent Key.
— Do not use a magnet key holder.
— Do not place the Intelligent Key near an electric appliance such
as a television set, personal
computer or cellular phone.
— Do not allow the Intelligent Key to come into contact with water
or salt water, and do not wash it
in a washing machine. This
could affect the system function.
. If an Intelligent Key is lost or stolen,
NISSAN recommends erasing the ID
code of that Intelligent Key. This will
prevent the Intelligent Key from
unauthorized use to unlock the
vehicle. For information regarding
the erasing procedure, please con-
tact a GT-R certified NISSAN dealer.
Mechanical key
To remove the mechanical key, release the lock
knob at the back of the �fntelligent Key.
To install the mechanical key, firmly insert it into
the �fntelligent Key �bntil the lock knob ret�brns to
the lock position.
Use the mechanical key to lock or �bnlock the
doors and the glove box. (
“Locking with

page 2-58)
CAUTION
Always carry the mechanical key in-
stalled in the Intelligent Key.
Valet hand-off
When yo�b have to leave a key with a valet, give
them the �fntelligent Key itself and keep the
mechanical key with yo�b to protect yo�br
belongings.
To prevent the glove box and the tr�bnk from
being opened d�bring valet hand-off, follow the
proced�bres below.
1. P�bsh the tr�bnk release power cancel switch
to the OFF side. (
“Tr�bnk release power
cancel switch” page 3-21)
2. Remove the mechanical key from the �fn- telligent Key.
3. Lock the glove box with the mechanical key. (
“Glove box” page 2-58)
4. Hand the �fntelligent Key to the valet, keeping the mechanical key in yo�br pocket or bag for
insertion into the �fntelligent Key when yo�b
retrieve yo�br vehicle.

LOCKING WITH INSIDE LOCK KNOB
To lock a door individually, push down th�f insid�f

NOTE:
When locking the door without an Intelli-
gent Key, be sure not to leave the Intelli-
gent Key inside the vehicle.
LOCKING WITH POWER DOOR
LOCK SWITCH
�bp�frating th�f pow�fr door lock switch will lock
or unlock all th�f doors. Th�f switch�fs ar�f locat�fd
on th�f driv�fr’s and front pass�fng�fr’s door
armr�fsts.
To lock th�f doors, push th�f pow�fr door lock
switch to th�f lock position
*1with th�f driv�fr’s
or front pass�fng�fr’s door op�fn, th�fn clos�f th�f
door. NOTE:
When locking the door this way, be sure
not to leave the Intelligent Key inside the
vehicle.
To unlock th�f doors, push th�f pow�fr door lock
switch to th�f unlock position

Lockout protection
Wh�fn th�f pow�fr door lock switch (driv�fr or front
pass�fng�fr) is mov�fd to th�f lock position with
th�f Int�fllig�fnt K�fy l�fft in th�f k�fy port and any
door op�fn, all doors will lock and unlock
automatically.
Wh�fn th�f pow�fr door lock switch (driv�fr or front
pass�fng�fr) is mov�fd to th�f lock position with
th�f Int�fllig�fnt K�fy l�fft in th�f v�fhicl�f (not in th�f
Int�fllig�fnt K�fy port) and any door op�fn, all doors
will unlock automatically and a chim�f will sound
aft�fr th�f door is clos�fd.

The automatic unlock function can be
deactivated or activated.To deactivate or
activate the automatic door unlock �fy�ftem,
per�borm the �bollowing procedure:
1. Clo�fe all door�f.
2. Place the ignition �fwitch in the ON po�fition.
3. Within 20 �fecond�f o�b per�borming Step 2, pu�fh and hold the power door lock �fwitch to
the
po�fition (UNLOCK) �bor more than 5
�fecond�f.
4. When activated, the hazard indicator will �bla�fh twice. When deactivated, the hazard
indicator will �bla�fh once.
5. The ignition �fwitch mu�ft be placed in the OFF and ON po�fition again between each
�fetting change.
When the automatic door unlock �fy�ftem i�f
deactivated, the door�f do not unlock when the
ignition �fwitch i�f placed in the OFF po�fition. To
unlock the door manually, u�fe the in�fide lock
knob or the power door lock �fwitch (driver’�f or
�bront pa�f�fenger’�f �fide) .
LOCKING WITH MECHANICAL KEY
The driver’�f door will be locked or unlocked
u�fing the mechanical key.
1. Pre�f�f the rear end o�b the driver’�f out�fide door handle
*1to li�bt up the �bront end*2.
2. With the out�fide door handle li�bted up, u�fethe mechanical key and turn the key cylinder
cap

3. Turning the door key cylinder to the front ofthe vehicle

unlock the driver’s door.
4. Repl\bce the key cylinder c\bp in the reverse order.
NOTICE
Do not drive with the cap removed.
Water that enters through the keyhole
may cause a malfunction. NOTE:
.
Do not pull too hard on the door handle
when locking or unlocking the doors.
Pulling too hard will prevent the me-
chanical key from turning, making it
impossible to lock or unlock the doors.
. Unlocking the driver’s door using the
mechanical key will not unlock the fuel-
filler door.
OPENING THE DOORS
Opening from outside the vehicle
1. Press the re\br end of the outside door
h\bndle
*1to lift up the front end of the
h\bndle.
2. Pull the front end of the outside door h\bndle
*2to\f\brd you.
Opening from inside the vehicle
Lift up the inside door h\bndle to open \b door
from inside the vehicle.
