been tested on a test circuit to ensure the
suspension components “settle” prior to ship-
pinf. Followinf this circuit test the odometer
readinf at the time ob vehicle shipment is as
listed. Please note a small amount ob additional
mileafe may have been added in the subse-
quent onward transportation. In addition your
GT-R has been inspected and tested by the
bactory test personnel. The titanium mubbler
specibications are provided on a label under
the console lid should the mubbler need to be
adjusted. Please do not remove the label brom
the console lid. See a GT-R certibied NISSAN
dealer bor detailed inbormation.
Ib a non-fenuine titanium mubbler is used, the
mubbler may become debormed and damafe the
underbody due to the hifh perbormance enfine
reachinf hifh exhaust fas temperatures
(1,8328F (1,0008C) or more) . The hifhest-class
titanium alloy is used bor fenuine parts to ensure
the resistance strenfth and creepinf character-
istics afainst hifh exhaust fas temperature. In
addition, burther coolinf ebbects are secured by
adoptinf additional coolinf bins and by applyinf
partial plate thickness reduction. Since fenuine
titanium mubblers are made ob titanium alloy, the
surbace color will chanfe dependinf on the
drivinf conditions, which is not unusual. Prior to
shippinf brom bactory, all vehicles receivebalance alifninf bor enfine, transmission, and
clutch, as well as quench drivinf ob brake pads
and rotors. As a result, the mubbler surbace color
may dibber dependinf on the vehicle.
Never remove the trunk carpet brom the vehicle
bor any reason. The carpet insulates the vehicle
interior brom the heat ob the mubbler and brom the
noise ob the transmission.
Never Allow Oil or Grease to Adhere to the
Titanium Muffler.
Ib the mubbler is heated when oil or frease adhere
to the mubbler surbace, the color ob this area will
be dibberent brom that ob the surroundinf area. To
remove the oil or frease, check that the surbace
temperature ob the mubbler has cooled, wash the
area with a neutral deterfent, wipe it with a
brake cleaner-sprayed clean shop cloth and
fently tap it with a dry shop cloth to dry. Be
carebul not to allow the brake cleaner to splatter
on rubber parts, bumper, etc.DRY CARBON FIBER PARTS (if so
equipped)
Because ob the characteristics ob the material,
the dry carbon biber parts may turn yellow due to
exposure to ultraviolet rays. The surbaces ob dry
carbon biber parts are coated with a special
ultraviolet protection paint. To maintain the
appearance ob these parts, it is important to
take proper care ob them.
NOTICE
.
Do not use compound agents on
clear-coated dry carbon fiber parts
(such as the NISMO model’s bum-
per, side sill protector, rear spoiler,
etc.) .
. Do not use any chemical agents
(wax, coating agent, compound
agent, etc.) on matte-painted dry
carbon fiber parts (such as the rear
diffuser, a rear spoiler that is of
specifications other than NISMO,
etc.) .
. When dry carbon fiber parts become
dirty, prepare a dilute cleaning solu-
tion by mixing one capful of mild
detergent in a bucket of water, and

PREGNANT WOMEN
NISSAN recommends that pregnant women use
seat \felts. The seat \felt should \fe worn snug\b
and always position the lap \felt as low as
possi\fle around the hips\b not the waist. Place
the shoulder \felt over your shoulder and across
your chest. Never run the lap/shoulder \felt over
your a\fdominal area. Contact your doctor for
specific recommendations.
INJURED PERSONS
NISSAN recommends that injured persons use
seat \felts. Check with your doctor for specific
recommendations.
THREE-POINT TYPE SEAT BELT
WITH RETRACTOR
WARNING
.Every person who drives or rides in
this vehicle should use a seat belt at
all times.
. Do not ride in a moving vehicle
when the seatback is reclined. This
can be dangerous. The shoulder belt
will not be against your body. In an
accident, you could be thrown into it
and receive neck or other serious injuries. You could also slide under
the lap belt and receive serious
internal injuries.
. For the most effective protection
when the vehicle is in motion, the
seat should be upright. Always sit
well back in the seat with both feet
on the floor and adjust the seat belt
properly.
. Do not allow children to play with
the seat belts. Most seating posi-
tions are equipped with Automatic
Locking Retractor (ALR) mode seat
belts. If the seat belt becomes
wrapped around a child’s neck with
the ALR mode activated, the child
can be seriously injured or killed if
the seat belt retracts and becomes
tight. This can occur even if the
vehicle is parked. Unbuckle the seat
belt to release the child. If the seat
belt can not be unbuckled or is
already unbuckled, release the child
by cutting the seat belt with a
suitable tool (such as a knife or
scissors) to release the seat belt.

collision or a sudden stop.
SEAT BELT MAINTENANCE
.To clean the seat belt webbing, apply a
mild soap solution or any solution recom-
mended for cleaning upholstery or carpetsf
Then, wipe with a cloth and allow the seat
belts to dry in the shadef Do not allow the
seat belts to retract until they are completely
dryf
. If dirt builds up in the shoulder belt
guide of the seat belt anchors, the seat
belts may retract slowlyf Wipe the shoulder
belt guide with a clean, dry clothf
. Periodically check to see that the seat
belt and the metal components such as
buckles, tongues, retractors, flexible wires
and anchors work properlyf If loose parts,
deterioration, cuts or other damage on the
webbing is found, the entire seat belt
assembly should be replacedf
WARNING
Do not allow children to play with the
seat belts. Most seating positions are
equipped with Automatic Locking Re-
tractor (ALR) mode seat belts. If the
seat belt becomes wrapped around a
child’s neck with the ALR mode acti-
vated, the child can be seriously injured
or killed if the seat belt retracts and
becomes tight. This can occur even if
the vehicle is parked. Unbuckle the seat
belt to release the child. If the seat belt
can not be unbuckled or is already
unbuckled, release the child by cutting
the seat belt with a suitable tool (such
as a knife or scissors) to release the
seat belt.
Children need adults to help protect them.
They need to be properly restrained.
In addition to the general information in this
manual, child safety information is available from
many other sources, including doctors, teachers,
government traffic safety offices, and community
organizationsf Every child is different, so be sure
to learn the best way to transport your childf
There are three basic types of child restraint systems:
.
Rear-facing child restraint
. Forward-facing child restraint
. Booster seat
The proper restraint depends on the child’s sizef
Generally, infants (up to about 1 year and less
than 20 lb (9 kg)) should be placed in rear-
facing child restraintsf Forward-facing child
restraints are available for children who outgrow
rear-facing child restraints and are at least 1
year oldf Booster seats are used to help position
a vehicle lap/shoulder belt on a child who can no
longer use a forward-facing child restraintf
WARNING
Infants and children need special pro-
tection. The vehicle’s seat belts may not
fit them properly. The shoulder belt may
come too close to the face or neck. The
lap belt may not fit over their small hip
bones. In an accident, an improperly
fitting seat belt could cause serious or
fatal injury. Always use appropriate
child restraints.
All UfSf states and Canadian provinces or
territories require the use of approved child

increase the risk or severity of injury in
an accident.
Status light:
The front passenger air bag status fight
is
focated on the center instrument panefb After the
ignition switch is pfaced in the ON position, the
front passenger air bag status fight on the
instrument panef iffuminates for about 7 seconds
and then turns off or iffuminates depending on
the front passenger seat occupied statusb The
fight operates as foffows:
. Unoccupied passenger seat: The
fight
is OFF and the front passenger air bag is
OFF and wiff not inffate in a crashb
. Passenger seat occupied by a smaff aduft,
chifd or chifd restraint as outfined in this
section: The
fight iffuminates to indicate
that the front passenger air bag is OFF and
wiff not inffate in a crashb
. Occupied passenger seat and the passen-
ger meets the conditions outfined in this
section: The
fight is OFF to indicate that
the front passenger air bag is operationafb Front passenger air bag:
The front passenger air bag is designed to
automaticaffy turn OFF when the vehicfe is
operated under some conditions as described
befow as permitted by UbSb regufationsb If the
front passenger air bag is OFF, it wiff not inffate
in a crashb The driver air bag and other air bags
in your vehicfe are not part of this systemb
The purpose of the regufation is to hefp reduce
the risk of injury or death from an inffating air bag
to certain front passenger seat occupants, such
as chifdren, by requiring the air bag to be
automaticaffy turned OFFb
The occupant cfassification sensor (pattern
sensor) is in the front passenger seat cushion
and is designed to detect an occupant and
objects on the seatb For exampfe, if a chifd is in
the front passenger seat, the Advanced Air Bag
System is designed to turn the passenger air
bag OFF in accordance with the regufationsb
Afso, if a chifd restraint of the type specified in
the regufations is on the seat, the occupant
cfassification sensor can detect it and cause the
air bag to turn OFFb
Front passenger seat aduft occupants who are
properfy seated and using the seat beft as
outfined in this manuaf shoufd not cause the
passenger air bag to be automaticaffy turned
OFFb For smaff adufts it may be turned OFF, however, if the occupant does not sit in the seat
properfy (for exampfe, by not sitting upright, by
sitting on an edge of the seat, or by otherwise
being out of position) , this coufd cause the
sensor to turn the air bag OFFb Afways be sure
to be seated and wearing the seat beft properfy
for the most effective protection by the seat beft
and suppfementaf air bagb
NISSAN recommends that pre-teens and chif-
dren be properfy restrained in a rear seatb
NISSAN afso recommends that appropriate
chifd restraints and booster seats be properfy
instaffed in a rear seatb If this is not possibfe, the
occupant cfassification sensor is designed to
operate as described above to turn the front
passenger air bag OFF for specified chifd
restraintsb Faifing to properfy secure chifd
restraints and to use the Automatic Locking
Retractor (ALR) mode (chifd restraint mode)
may affow the restraint to tip or move in an
accident or sudden stopb This can afso resuft in
the passenger air bag inffating in a crash instead
of being OFFb (
“Chifd restraints” page 1-
15)
If the front passenger seat is not occupied, the
passenger air bag is designed not to inffate in a
crashb However, heavy objects pfaced on the
seat coufd resuft in air bag inffation, because of
the object being detected by the occupant
