WARNING
●Do not ride in a moving vehicle when
the seatback is reclined. This can be
dangerous. The shoulder belt will not
be against your body. In an accident,
you could be thrown into it and receive
neck or other serious injuries. You
could also slide under the lap belt and
receive serious internal injuries. ●
For the most effective protection when
the vehicle is in motion, the seat should
be upright. Always sit well back and
upright in the seat with both feet on the
floor and adjust the seat properly. For
additional information, refer to “Pre-
cautions on seat belt usage” in this
section.
● After adjustment, gently rock in the seat
to make sure it is securely locked. ●
Do not leave children unattended inside
the vehicle. They could unknowingly ac-
tivate switches or controls. Unattended
children could become involved in seri-
ous accidents.
● To help avoid risk of injury or death
through unintended operation of the
vehicle and/or its systems, do not leave
children, people who require the assis-
tance of others or pets unattended in
your vehicle. Additionally, the tempera-
ture inside a closed vehicle on a warm
day can quickly become high enough to
cause a significant risk of injury or
death to people and pets.
● Do not adjust the driver’s seat while
driving so full attention may be given to
vehicle operation. The seat may move
suddenly and could cause loss of con-
trol of the vehicle.
● The seatback should not be reclined
any more than needed for comfort. Seat
belts are most effective when the pas-
senger sits well back and straight up in
the seat. If the seatback is reclined, the
risk of sliding under the lap belt and
being injured is increased.

CAUTION
When adjusting the seat positions, be
sure not to contact any moving parts to
avoid possible injuries and/or damage.
FRONT POWER SEAT ADJUSTMENT
Operating tips
●The power seat motor has an auto-reset
overload protection circuit. If the motor
stops during operation, wait 30 seconds,
then reactivate the switch.
● Do not operate the power seat switch for a
long period of time when the Hybrid System
is not in the READY mode. This will dis-
charge the vehicle battery.
For additional information about automatic driver
positioner operation, refer to “Automatic drive positioner” in “Pre-driving checks and adjust-
ments” section of this manual.Forward and backward
Moving the switch forward or backward will slide
the seat forward or backward to the desired
position.
Reclining
Move the recline switch backward until the de-
sired angle is obtained. To bring the seatback
forward again, move the switch forward and
move your body forward. The seatback will move
forward.

The reclining feature allows adjustment of the
seatback for occupants of different sizes for
added comfort and to help obtain proper seat
belt fit. For additional information, refer to “Pre-
cautions on seat belt usage” in this section. Also,
the seatback can be reclined to allow occupants
to rest when the vehicle is stopped and the shift
lever is in P (Park) .
Seat lifter (driver’s seat)
Push the front or rear end of the switch up or
down to adjust the angle and height of the seat
cushion.
Lumbar support (driver’s seat)
The lumbar support feature provides adjustable
lower back support to the driver. Push the front or
back end of the switch to adjust the seat lumbar
area.

Shoulder belt height adjustment (front
seats)
The shoulder belt anchor height should be ad-
justed to the position best for you. For additional
information, refer to “Precautions on seat belt
usage” in this section. To adjust, pull out the
adjustment button
1and move the shoulder belt
anchor to the desired position
2, so the belt
passes over the center of the shoulder. The belt
should be away from your face and neck, but not
falling off your shoulder. Release the adjustment
button to lock the shoulder belt anchor into posi-
tion.
WARNING
● After adjustment, release the adjust-
ment button and try to move the shoul-
der belt anchor up and down to make
sure it is securely fixed in position.
● The shoulder belt anchor height should
be adjusted to the position best for you.
Failure to do so may reduce the effec-
tiveness of the entire restraint system
and increase the chance or severity of
injury in an accident.
Seat belt hooks
When the seat belt is not in use and when folding
down the rear seats, hook the rear seat belts on
the seat belt hooks.
SEAT BELT EXTENDERS
If, because of body size or driving position, it is
not possible to properly fit the lap/shoulder belt
and fasten it, an extender that is compatible with
the installed seat belts is available for purchase.
The extender adds approximately 8 in (200 mm)
of length and is available for the:
● Driver and front passenger seating positions

Vehicle Settings
The vehicle settings allow the user to change the
settings for lights, wipers, locking, keys, and
other vehicle settings.

Light Sensitivity Allows the user to change when the lights illuminate based on the brightness outside the vehicle

Turn Indicator Displays the various Turn Indicator settings
3 Flash Pass Allows the user to turn the 3 Flash Pass ON/OFF
Locking Displays the various Locking settings
Key Door Lock Allows user to turn the Key Door Lock ON/OFF. When turned on, the request switch on the door is activated.
Selective Unlock Allows user to turn Selective Unlock ON/OFF. When turned on, only the driver’s door is unlocked after the door unlock operation. When the
door handle request switch on the driver’s or front passenger’s side door is pushed to be unlocked, only the corresponding door is unlocked
first. All the doors can be unlocked if the door unlock operation is performed again within 1 minute. When this item is turned to OFF, all the
doors will be unlocked after the door unlock operation is performed once.
Auto Door Unlock Displays options for the Auto Door Unlock. When turned off, the doors must be manually unlocked. When turned on, the auto door unlock func-
tion automatically unlocks all the doors when the ignition is turned off (IGN Off) or the shift lever is placed in P (Park) position (Shift to P) .
Answer Back Horn Allows user to turn Answer Back Horn ON/OFF. When turned on, the horn will chirp and the hazard indicators will flash once when locking the
vehicle with the Intelligent Key.
Wipers Displays the various Wipers settings
Speed Dependent Allows the user to turn the Speed Dependent feature ON/OFF
Driving Position Displays the various Driver Position settings
Exit Seat Slide Allows the user to turn the Exit Seat Slide ON/OFF
Exit Steering Up Allows the user to turn the Exit Steering Up ON/OFF
Remote Start Allows user to turn the remote start ON/OFF. When turned on, the engine can be restarted remotely. For additional information, refer to “Re-
mote engine start (if so equipped) in the “Pre-driving checks and adjustments” section of this manual.

WARNING
●Do not adjust the steering wheel while
driving. You could lose control of your
vehicle and cause an accident.
● Do not adjust the steering wheel any
closer to you than is necessary for
proper steering operation and comfort.
The driver’s air bag inflates with great
force. If you are unrestrained, leaning
forward, sitting sideways or out of posi-
tion in any way, you are at greater risk of
injury or death in a crash. You may also
receive serious or fatal injuries from the
air bag if you are up against it when it
inflates. Always sit back against the
seatback and as far away as practical
from the steering wheel. Always use the
seat belts.
MANUAL OPERATION (if so
equipped)
Tilt and telescopic operation
Pull the lock lever1down:
● Adjust the steering wheel up or down in
direction
2to the desired position.
● Adjust the steering wheel forward or back-
ward in direction
3to the desired position.
Push the lock lever
1up firmly to lock the
steering wheel in place.
AUTOMATIC OPERATION (if so
equipped)
Tilt and telescopic operation
To adjust the steering wheel move the switch1
in the following directions:
● Adjust the steering wheel up or down in
direction
2to the desired tilt position.
● Adjust the steering wheel forward or back-
ward in direction
3to the desired tele-
scopic position.

CAUTION
For vehicles with automatic drive posi-
tioner: Failure to reset the tilt and tele-
scoping functions of the steering wheel,
after the vehicle’s battery has been dis-
charged, may prevent the steering wheel
position from being adjusted.
For vehicles with automatic drive positioner: Both
the tilt and telescopic steering operation must be
reset after the vehicle’s battery has been dis-
charged in order to prevent the tilt and telescopic
operation from locking in one position. When the
battery has been recharged or replaced, perform
the following: ● For tilt operation: Adjust the switch
1so
the steering wheel moves to the highest
position
2that can be reached.
● For telescopic operation: Adjust the switch
1so the steering wheel moves to the most
forward and backward position
3that can
be reached.
Performing these operations resets the range of
the steering wheel’s tilt and telescopic function.
Entry/Exit function
The automatic drive positioner system will make
the steering wheel move up automatically when
the driver’s door is opened and the ignition
switch is in the LOCK position. This lets the driver
get into and out of the seat more easily. The
steering wheel moves back into position when
the driver’s door is closed and the ignition switch
is pushed.
For additional information, refer to “Automatic
drive positioner” in this section.

The automatic drive positioner system has three
features:● Memory storage function (Key-link)
● Memory storage function (Switch)
● Entry/exit function
Key-link, when enabled, automatically retains the
driver’s last seat, automatic steering wheel (if so
equipped) , and outside mirror positions for that
specific key when the ignition is turned from ON
to OFF.
Each memory switch button (1 or 2) on the driv-
er’s door can also store one additional position
which is independent of the key-linked position.
MEMORY STORAGE FUNCTION
(Key-Link)
Use the following process to setup key-link: 1. Unlock the vehicle with the desired Intelli- gent Key while the ignition is OFF.
2. Place the ignition in the ON position.
3. Within the “Settings” menu of the vehicle information display, select “Key-Linked Set-
tings” and press the OK button on the steer-
ing switch.
4. While in the menu, press the OK button on the steering switch to turn the system
ON/OFF. Once step 4 is completed, every time the ignition
is switched from ON to OFF, the memory posi-
tions of the driver’s seat, automatic steering
wheel (if so equipped) and the outside mirrors
are linked to the Intelligent Key.
Follow the same procedure if you want to
link the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Intelligent Key.
NOTE:
If new memory positions are set prior to
turning the ignition from ON to OFF, the
previously linked memory positions for the
respective key will be overwritten by new
positions.
Recalling Intelligent Key Memory
Positions
If the “Key-Linked Settings” are enabled in the
vehicle information display for that particular key,
every time you enter the vehicle the driver’s seat,
automatic steering wheel (if so equipped) , and
outside mirrors will automatically move to the
driver’s last position of the respective Intelligent
Key.
NOTE:
The key-linked memory positions can be
different from the positions stored in the
memory switch (1 or 2) .

MEMORY STORAGE FUNCTION
(Switch)
Use the following process to manually store the
two memory positions in the switch:1. Place the ignition in the ON or ACC position (the vehicle should be stopped while setting
the memory) . 2. Adjust the driver’s seat, automatic steering
wheel (if so equipped) , and outside mirrors
to the desired positions by manually operat-
ing each adjusting switch. For additional in-
formation, refer to “Seats” in the “Safety—
Seats, seat belts and supplemental restraint
system” section of this manual and “Steering
wheel” and “Outside mirrors” in this section.
3. Push the SET switch and, within 5 seconds, push the memory switch (1 or 2) .
The indicator light for the pushed memory switch
will come on and stay on for approximately 5 sec-
onds. The chime will sound if the memory has
been stored.
NOTE:
If a new memory position is stored in the
same memory switch, the previous memory
position will be overwritten by the new
stored position.
Recalling Switch Memory Positions
To recall the manually stored positions, press the
memory switch (1 or 2) . The driver’s seat, outside
mirrors and automatic steering wheel (if so
equipped) will move to the positions stored to
those buttons.
ENTRY/EXIT FUNCTION
This system is designed so that the driver’s seat
and automatic operation steering column will au-
tomatically move when the shift lever is in the P
(Park) position. This allows the driver to get into
and out of the driver’s seat more easily.

The driver’s seat will slide backward and the
steering wheel will move up:● When the driver’s door is opened and the
ignition switch is in the OFF position.
● When the ignition switch is turned from
ACC to OFF with the driver’s door open.
The driver’s seat and steering wheel will return to
the previous position: ● When the ignition switch is turned to ACC or
ON while the shift lever is in the P (Park)
position.
The entry/exit function can be adjusted or can-
celed through the Vehicle Settings in the vehicle
information display by performing the following: ● Switch the Exit Seat Slide from ON to OFF.
● Switch the Exit Steering Up from ON to OFF.Restarting the entry/exit function
If the battery cable is disconnected or if the fuse
opens, the stored memory positions may be lost
and some of the functions will be restricted.
1. Drive the vehicle over 25 mph (40 km/h).
OR 2. Open and close the driver’s door more than two times with the ignition switch in the OFF
position.
The entry/exit function should now work properly.
SYSTEM OPERATION
The automatic drive positioner system will not
work or will stop operating under the following
conditions: ● When the vehicle speed is above 0 mph
(0 km/h).
● When any of the memory switches are
pushed while the automatic drive positioner
is operating. ●
When the adjusting switch for the driver’s
seat and steering column is turned on while
the automatic drive positioner is operating.
● When the seat has already been moved to
the memorized position.
● When no seat position is stored in the
memory switch.
● When the shift lever is moved from P (Park)
to any other position.
