Maintenance
The maintenance menu allows the user to set reminders for various vehicle maintenance items.
Some menu items shown below may not be equipped on your vehicle.
WARNING
The tire replacement indicator is not a substitute for regular tire checks, including tire pressure checks. For additional informa-
tion, see “Changing wheels and tires” (P. 8-38). Many factors including tire inflation, alignment, driving habits and road conditions
affect tire wear and when tires should be replaced. Setting the tire replacement indicator for a certain driving distance does not
mean your tires will last that long. Use the tire replacement indicator as a guide only and always perform regular tire checks.
Failure to perform regular tire checks, including tire pressure checks could result in tire failure. Serious vehicle damage could
occur and may lead to a collision, which could result in serious personal injury or death.
Menu item Explanation
Service Allows user to reset the current interval. This should only be done af ter completing oil change maintenance.
Air Filter Allows user to set a reminder at a specific interval or reset the current one.
Tire This indicator appears when the customer set distance is reached for replacing tires. You can set or reset the dis-
tance for replacing tires.
Other This indicator appears when the customer set distance is reached for checking or replacing maintenance items
other than the engine oil, oil filter and tires. Other maintenance items can include such things as air filter or tire
rotation. The distance for checking or replacing the items can be set or reset.

VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY
WARNINGS AND INDICATORS
The following messages may appear in
your vehicle information display.
Engine start operation for
Intelligent Key system (if
I-Key battery level is low)
This indicator appears when the battery of
the Intelligent Key is low and when the In-
telligent Key system and the vehicle are not
communicating normally.
If this appears, touch the ignition switch
with the Intelligent Key while depressing
the brake pedal. For additional information,
see “NISSAN Intelligent Key® battery dis-
charge” (P. 5-15).
Key ID Incorrect
This warning appears when the ignition
switch is placed from the OFF position and
the Intelligent Key is not recognized by the
system. You cannot start the engine with
an unregistered key.

I-Key System Error: See
Owner’s Manual
Af ter the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position, this warning appears for a period
of time and then turns off.
The Key System Error message warns of a
malfunction with the Intelligent Key sys-
tem. If the warning appears while the en-
gine is stopped, it may be impossible to
start the engine.
If the warning appears while the engine is
running, you can drive the vehicle. However,
in these cases, have the system checked. It
is recommended that you visit a NISSAN
dealer for this service.
Key low battery
This indicator appears when the Intelligent
Key battery is running out of power.
If this indicator appears, replace the bat-
tery with a new one. For additional infor-
mation, see “Battery replacement” (P. 8-25).
No Key Detected
This warning appears when the Intelligent
Key is lef t outside the vehicle with the igni-
tion switch in the ON position. Make sure
the Intelligent Key is inside the vehicle.For additional information, see “NISSAN In-
telligent Key® system” (P. 3-7).
Brightness indicator
This indicator shows the brightness ad-
justment of the instrument panel. For addi-
tional information, see “Instrument bright-
ness control” (P. 2-83).
Caution Steep slope
This warning appears, and a buzzer
sounds when the automatic brake hold
function is activated while the vehicle is on
a steep hill. Depress the brake pedal. For
additional information, see “Automatic
brake hold” (P. 5-25).
Chassis Control System Error See
Owner’s Manual
This warning appears if the chassis control
module detects a malfunction in the chas-
sis control system. Have the system
checked. It is recommended that you visit a
NISSAN dealer for this service. For addi-
tional information, see “Chassis Control”
(P. 5-180).

Timer Alert — Have a
break?
This indicator appears when the set time is
reached. The time can be set up to six
hours. For additional information, see
“Driver Assistance” (P. 2-28).
Tire Pressure Low - Add Air
This warning appears when the low tire
pressure warning light in the meter illumi-
nates and low tire pressure is detected. The
warning appears each time the ignition
switch is placed in the ON position as long
as the low tire pressure warning light re-
mains illuminated. If this warning appears,
stop the vehicle and adjust the tire pres-
sures of all four tires to the recommended
COLD tire pressure shown on the Tire and
Loading Information label. For additional
information, see “Low tire pressure warning
light” (P. 2-18) and “Tire Pressure Monitoring
System (TPMS)” (P. 5-5).
TPMS Error: See Owner’s Manual
This warning appears when there is an er-
ror with your TPMS. If this warning appears,
have the system checked. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
Transmission Shif t Position
indicator
This indicator shows the transmission shif t
position.
When parked apply parking
brake
This message appears when a malfunc-
tion occurs in the electric shif t control sys-
tem below 6 mph (10 km/h).
Have the system checked. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
AWD Error: See Owner’s Manual
This warning appears when the 4-Wheel
Drive (4WD) system is not functioning prop-
erly while the engine is running. Reduce
vehicle speed and have your vehicle
checked by a NISSAN dealer as soon as
possible. For additional information, see
“Intelligent 4x4 (I-4x4)” (P. 5-171).
AWD High Temp. Stop Vehicle
This warning appears when the oil tem-
perature of the powertrain parts will in-
crease due to the difference in rotation be-
tween the front and rear wheels is large
(wheel slip), such as when driving the ve-
hicle on rough roads, through sand or mud,
or freeing a stuck vehicle. If this warning isdisplayed, stop the vehicle with the engine
idling, as soon as it is safe to do so. In these
cases, the 4WD changes to 2WD to protect
the powertrain parts. Then if the warning
turns off, you can continue 4WD driving.
Tire Size Incorrect See Owner’s
Manual
This warning may appear if there is a large
difference between the diameters of the
front and rear wheels. Pull off the road in a
safe area, with the engine idling. Check that
all the tire sizes, brand, construction and
tread patterns are the same, that the tire
pressure is correct and that the tires are
not excessively worn. If you have any prob-
lems, please change tires or adjust to the
correct tire pressure. Do not select the
SNOW or SAND or MUD/RUT (if so equipped)
mode with the Drive Mode Selector and do
not drive fast. For additional information,
see “Intelligent 4x4 (I-4x4)” (P. 5-171).
Automatic Emergency
Braking (AEB) with
Pedestrian Detection
emergency warning
indicator
This indicator appears along, with an au-
dible warning, when the system detects
the possibility of a forward collision.

Hold onto the steering wheel immediately.
When the steering operation is detected,
the warning turns off and the Steering As-
sist function is automatically restored.

Idling Stop System
This indicator shows the Idling Stop Sys-
tem status.

Intelligent Lane
Intervention (I-LI)/
Intelligent Blind Spot

ProPILOT Assist indicator
This indicator shows when the I-LI, I-BSI or
ProPILOT Assist system is engaged.

Lane Departure Warning
(LDW) indicator
This indicator appears when the LDW sys-
tem is unavailable.

Malfunction: See Owner’s Manual
This warning appears when one or more of
the following systems (if so equipped) is
not functioning properly:
• Rear Automatic Braking (RAB)
• Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
If one or more of these warning appears,
have the system checked. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
Malfunction warning
This warning appears when one or more of
the following systems (if so equipped) mal-
function:
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
• Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) withPedestrian Detection
• Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW) If one or more of these warning appears,
have the system checked. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
Not Available Bad Weather indicator
This message may appear when the Steer-
ing Assist system is engaged.
Under the following conditions, the Steering
Assist system is automatically canceled:
• When the wiper (HI) operates.
• When lane markers in the traveling lane
cannot be correctly detected for a period
of time due to such items as a snow rut,
reflection of light on a rainy day or several
unclear lane markers are present.
If you want to use the Steering Assist sys-
tem again, cancel the ProPILOT Assist sys-
tem and set it again when lane markers are
clearly visible.
Not Available Front Camera
Obstructed indicator
This message may appear when the Steer-
ing Assist system is engaged.
Under the following conditions, the Steering
Assist system is automatically canceled:

• The camera area of the windshield isfogged up or covered with dirt, water
drops, ice, snow, etc.
• Strong light, such as sunlight or high beams from oncoming vehicles, enter
the front camera.
Not Available Parking Brake On
This message may appear when the ProPI-
LOT Assist system is engaged.
Under the following condition, the ProPILOT
Assist system is automatically canceled:
• The electronic parking brake is applied.
The above system cannot be used when
the electronic parking is activated.

Not Available Poor Road Conditions
This message may appear when the ProPI-
LOT Assist system, Intelligent Blind Spot In-
tervention (I-BSI) or the Intelligent Lane In-
tervention (I-LI) system is engaged.
Under the following conditions, the Pro-
PILOT Assist system, Intelligent Blind Spot
Intervention (I-BSI) or the Intelligent Lane
Intervention (I-LI) system is automatically
canceled:
• When the VDC system operates • When a wheel slips
The above system cannot be used in some
situations (VDC operates, wheel slip and
VDC system is off.)
Not Available Seat Belt Not Fastened
This message may appear when the Pro-
PILOT Assist system is engaged.
Under the following condition, the ProPILOT
Assist system is automatically canceled:
• When the driver’s seat belt is not fastened
The above system cannot be used when
the driver’s seat belt is not fastened.
Not Available System Malfunction
This warning appears when one or more of
the following systems (if so equipped) is
not functioning properly.
• ProPILOT
• Blind Spot Warning (BSW)
• Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention (I-BSI)
• Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
• Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI)
If one or more of these warnings appear,
have the system checked. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.

These indicators show the ProPILOT Assist
system status. The status is shown by

Rear Automatic Braking
(RAB) system warning
indicator
This indicator appears to indicate the sta-
tus of the Rear Automatic Braking (RAB)
system. For additional information, see
“Rear Automatic Braking (RAB)” (P. 5-129).
Speed Limit Sign indicator
This message may appear when the Traffic
Sign Recognition system is engaged.

For models with the full-screen display, the
meter screen view can be changed to ex-
pand the vehicle information display.
To change the meter screen view:
1. Push the shortcut menu button
OAon
the lef t side of the steering wheel. “Short-
cut Menu” appears on the vehicle infor-
mation display.
2. Select “Change Meter View” by rotating the scroll dial
OBand pushing it to
change the view.
OIL CONTROL SYSTEM (if so
equipped)
The oil control system can be accessed in
the Maintenance portion of the vehicle in-
formation display settings.
Engine oil information informs the distance
to oil change. Never exceed one year or
10,000 miles (16,000 km) between oil
change intervals for the 3.5L 6 cylinder
(VQ35DD engine model).

The oil change interval cannot be adjusted
manually.
The distance to oil change interval is calcu-
lated depending on the driving conditions
and set automatically by the oil control sys-
tem. A reminder will be displayed when ap-
proaching the end of the service interval.
When the Factory Reset option is selected
in the vehicle information display, the oil
control system will also be reset to initial
value. Please change the engine oil when
Factory Reset is selected.
CAUTION
If the oil replacement indicator is dis-
played, change the engine oil within
two weeks or less than 500 miles (800
km).
Operating the vehicle with deteriorated
oil can damage the engine.
To reset oil control system:
1. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
2. Push the
andbuttons located
on the steering wheel until “Settings” dis-
plays in the vehicle information display.
Use the scroll dial to select “Mainte-
nance”. Then, press the scroll dial.
3. Select the “Service” and press the scroll dial.
4. Press the scroll dial according to the re- set instructions displayed at the bottom
of the “Service” maintenance screen.

system is on standby.
The automatic brake hold indicator (green)
appears when the automatic brake hold
system is operating.

Brightness indicator
This indicator shows the brightness ad-
justment of the instrument panel. For addi-
tional information, see “Instrument bright-

Chassis Control System Error See
Owner’s Manual
This warning appears if the chassis control
module detects a malfunction in the chas-
sis control system. Have the system
checked. It is recommended that you visit a
NISSAN dealer for this service. For addi-
tional information, see “Chassis Control”
(P. 5-180).
Check Back Seat For All Articles
When the system is enabled, this message
appears when the vehicle comes to a com-
plete stop, the vehicle is transitioned from
the D (Drive) position to P (Park) position,
and the driver exits the vehicle. This mes-
sage alerts the driver, af ter a period of time,
to check for items in the rear seat af ter the
audible alert has been provided.
NOTE:
This system is disabled until a driver en-
ables it using the vehicle information
display. For additional information, see
“How to use the vehicle information dis-
play ” (P. 2-46).
For additional information, see “Rear Door
Alert” (P. 2-94).
Rear Door Alert is activated
When the system is enabled, this message
appears when the Rear Door Alert system
is active and can remind the driver to check
the back seat.
• Using the steering wheel switch, a drivercan select “Dismiss Message” to clear the
display for a period of time. If no selection
is made, this message automatically
turns off af ter a period of time.
• Using the steering wheel switch, a driver can select “Disable Alert” to disable the
horn alert for the remainder of the cur-
rent trip.
WARNING
Selecting “Dismiss Message” during a
stop within a trip temporarily dis-
misses the message for that stop with-
out turning the system off. Alerts can
be provided for other stops during the
trip. Selecting “Disable Alert” turns off
the Rear Door Alert system for the re-
mainder of a trip and no audible alert
will be provided.
NOTE:
This system is disabled until a driver en-
ables it using the vehicle information
display. For additional information, see
“How to use the vehicle information dis-
play ” (P. 2-46).

Door/Lif tgate Open
This warning appears when a door or the
lif tgate has been opened.
Drive Mode Selector indicators
When a driving mode is selected using the
Drive Mode Selector, the selected mode in-
dicator is displayed.
• SAND (4WD models)
• MUD/RUT (4WD models)
• SNOW
• AUTO (4WD models)
•ECO
• SPORT
• STANDARD (2WD models)
•TOW

Electric shif t control
system indicator
This indicator appears when a malfunction
occurs in the electric shif t control system.
When the master warning indicator ap-
pears, the chime sounds and the following
message is displayed in the vehicle infor-
mation display: “When parked apply park-
ing brake”.
When the ignition is placed in the OFF posi-
tion, the chime sounds continuously. En-
sure the parking brake is applied
Have the system checked. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
Front fog light indicator
(green)
The front fog light indicator appears when
the front fog lights are on. For additional
information, see “Fog light switch” (P. 2-84).
Headlight System Error: See Owner’s
Manual
This warning appears when there is an er-
ror with the system. For additional informa-
tion, see “Headlight and turn signal switch”
(P. 2-78).
High Beam Assist indicator
(green)
This indicator appears when the head-
lights come on while the headlight switch
is in the AUTO position with the high beams
selected and the engine running. This indi-
cates that the high beam assist is
operational.

High beam indicator (blue)
This blue indicator appears when the
headlight high beams are on and goes out
when the low beams are selected.
The high beam indicator also appears
when the passing signal is activated.
Hill descent control system
ON indicator
When the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position, this indicator appears briefly and
then turns off.
The indicator appears when the hill de-
scent control system is activated.
If the hill descent control switch is on and
the indicator blinks, the system is not
engaged.If the indicator does not appear when the
hill descent switch is on, the system may
not be functioning properly. Have the sys-
tem checked. It is recommended that you
visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.

Low Fuel
This warning appears when the fuel level in
the fuel tank is getting low. Refuel as soon
as it is convenient, preferably before the
fuel gauge reaches 0 (Empty).
There will be
a small reserve of fuel in the tank when
the fuel gauge needle reaches 0 (Empty).
Low Oil Pressure: See
Owner’s Manual
This warning appears in the message area
of the vehicle information display if low oil
pressure is detected. This gauge is not de-
signed to indicate low oil level. The low oil
pressure warning is not designed to indi-
cate a low oil level. Use the dipstick to
check the oil level. For additional informa-
tion, see “Engine oil” (P. 8-7).
