1. Pull the hood lock release handle1
located below the driver side instru-
ment panel. The hood will spring up
slightly.
2. Push the lever

hood to the side as illustrated with your
fingertips
3. Raise the hood

4. Remove the support rod and insert into the slot

When closing the hood, lower it slowly and
make sure it locks into place.
OPERATING THE MANUAL
LIFTGATE (if so equipped)
The power door lock system allows you to
lock or unlock all doors including the lif t-
gate simultaneously.
To open the lif tgate, press the request
switch
Aand pull up on the handle.
To close, lower and push the lif tgate down
securely.
OPERATING THE POWER LIFTGATE
(if so equipped)
Power Close:
The power lif tgate automatically moves
from the fully open position to the second-
ary position. When the lif tgate reaches the
secondary position, the cinching motor en-
gages and pulls the lif tgate to its primary
latch position. Power close takes approxi-
mately7–10sec onds. The power close
feature can be activated by the switch on
the key fob, the instrument panel or the
lif tgate switch
B. A chime sounds to indi-
cate the power close sequence has been
started. ∙ If the lif tgate opener switch
Ais acti-
vated while the cinching motor is en-
gaged, the cinching motor will disen-
gage, and the lif tgate will enter the
power open function initiated by the lif t-
gate opener switch.
∙ The key fob button must be held for 0.5 seconds before the lif tgate closes.
∙ The switch on the lif tgate
Bcan only
be used to close the lif tgate if the power
lif tgate main switch (if so equipped) is in
the ON position.
Stop - Reverse:
During an open/close movement, the lif t-
gate can be stopped, if the Intelligent Key,
instrument panel or lif tgate switch (
Aor
B) is pressed. The lif tgate can be reversed
if the Intelligent Key, instrument panel or
lif tgate switch (
AorB) is pressed again.
Auto Reverse:
If an obstacle is detected during power
open or power close, a warning chime will
sound and the lif tgate will reverse direction
and return to the full open or full close po-
sition. If a second obstacle is detected, the
lif tgate motion will stop and the lif tgate will
enter manual mode. A pinch strip is mounted on each side of
the lif tgate. If an obstacle is detected by a
pinch strip during power close, the lif tgate
will reverse direction and return to the full
open position.
NOTE:
If the pinch strip is damaged or removed,
the power close function will not oper-
ate.
POWER LIFTGATE MAIN SWITCH (if
so equipped)
The power lif tgate operation can be turned
on or off by the power lif tgate main switch
on the instrument panel.
When the power lif tgate main switch is
pushed to the OFF position, the power op-
eration is not available by the power lif t-
gate switch on the lif tgate and lif tgate
opener switch.Power operation is available when the
power lif tgate main switch is in the OFF
position by pushing the instrument panel
switch or pressing the button on the Intel-
ligent Key.
Motion-Activated Lif tgate (if so equipped)
will not function when the power lif tgate
main switch is pushed in the OFF position.
