Shift Solenoid Valve A
DESCRIPTION
Shift solenoid valves A and B are turned ªONº or ªOFFº by the
TCM in response to signals sent from the inhibitor switch, vehicle
speed and throttle position sensors. Gears will then be shifted to
the optimum position.

Overrun Clutch Solenoid Valve
DESCRIPTION
The overrun clutch solenoid valve is activated by the TCM in
response to signals sent from the inhibitor switch, overdrive con-
trol switch, vehicle speed and throttle position sensors. The over-
run clutch operation will then be controlled.

Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve
DESCRIPTION
The torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, with the
gear in D
4, by the TCM in response to signals sent from the
vehicle speed and throttle (accelerator) position sensors. Torque
converter clutch piston operation will then be controlled.
Lock-up operation, however, is prohibited when A/T fluid tem-
perature is too low.
