º button ispushed,
the airconditioner willautomatically turnonto
defog thewindshield ifthe outside temperature is
above -28C. Ifthe airrecirculation modeisturned
on atthe time, theventilation willchange fromthe
air recirculation modetothe outside aircirculation
mode toimprove thedefogging performance.
Do not setthe temperature toolow when thefront
defogger modeison (the ª
º indicator lightis
illuminated) ,because doingsomay fogupthe
windshield.

Air conditioner filter

The airconditioner systemisequipped withanair
conditioner filterwhich collects dust.To make surethe
air conditioner heatsdefogs, andventilates efficiently,
replace thefilter inaccordance withthespecified
maintenance intervalslistedinthe separate mainte-
nance booklet. To replace thefilter, contact aNISSAN
dealer.
The filter should bereplaced ifthe airflow decreases
significantly orifwindows fogupeasily whenoperating
the heater orair conditioner.

Compact Disc(CD) player

Most airfresheners useasolvent thatcould affect the
vehicle interior. Ifyou use anairfreshener, takethe
following precautions:
. Hanging-type airfresheners cancause permanent
discoloration whentheycontact vehicleinterior
surfaces. Placetheairfreshener inalocation that
allows itto hang freeandnotcontact aninterior
surface.
. Liquid-type airfresheners typicallycliponthe
vents. These products cancause immediate
damage anddiscoloration whenspilled oninterior
surfaces.
Carefully readandfollow themanufacturer's instruc-
tions before usingairfresheners.

can extend thelifeofyour vehicle carpetandmake it

GLASS

Use glass cleaner toremove smokeanddust filmfrom
the glass surfaces. Itis normal forglass tobecome
coated withafilm after thevehicle isparked inthe hot
sun. Glass cleaner andasoft cloth willeasily remove
this film.
CAUTION:
When cleaning theinside ofthe windows, donot
use sharp-edged tools,abrasive cleanersor
chlorine-based disinfectantcleaners.Theycould
damage theelectrical conductors, suchasrear
window defogger elements.

a straight andlevel road, orifyou detect uneven or

Windshield:

If any electrical equipment doesnotoperate, remove
the extended storagefuseswitch andcheck foran
open fuse.
NO TE:
If the extended storagefuseswitch malfunc-
tions, orifthe fuse isopen, itis not necessary to
replace theswitch. Inthis case, remove the
extended storagefuseswitch andreplace itwith
a new fuse ofthe same rating.
How toremove theextended storagefuse
switch:

position.
2. Besure theheadlight switchisin the ªOFFº
position.
3. Remove thefuse boxcover.
4. Pinch thestorage fuseswitch andpullitin the
direction illustrated.

lights inthe rain orinacar wash. Atemperature
difference betweentheinside andtheoutside ofthe
lens causes thefog. This isnot amalfunction. Iflarge

They canbereplaced frominside theengine compart-
ment without removing theheadlight assembly.
CAUTION:
High-pressure halogengasissealed insidethe
bulb. Thebulb maybreak ifthe glass envelope is
scratched orthe bulb is
dropped.

the bulb when removing it.
6. Install thenew bulb inthe reverse orderof
