NISSAN INTELLIGENT KEY®
BATTERY DISCHARGE (if so
equipped)
If the battery of the NISSAN Intelligent Key® is
discharged, or environmental conditions interfere
with the Intelligent Key operation, start the engine
according to the following procedure:1. Place the shift lever in the P (Park) position.
2. Firmly apply the foot brake. 3. Touch the ignition switch with the Intelligent
Key as illustrated. (A chime will sound.)
After step 3 is performed, when the ignition
switch is pushed without depressing the
brake pedal, the ignition switch position will
change to ON.
4. Push the ignition switch while depressing the brake pedal within ten seconds after the
chime sounds. The engine will start.
NOTE: ● When the ignition switch is pushed to the
ON position or the engine is started by the
above procedure, the Intelligent Key battery
discharge indicator appears in the vehicle
information display even when the Intelligent
Key is inside the vehicle. This is not a mal-
function. To turn off the Intelligent Key bat-
tery discharge indicator, touch the ignition
switch with the Intelligent Key again.
● If the Intelligent Key battery discharge indi-
cator appears, replace the battery as soon
as possible. For additional information, refer
to “Battery replacement” in the “Do-it-
yourself” section of this manual.
NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER
SYSTEM
The NISSAN Vehicle Immobilizer System will not
allow the engine to start without the use of the
registered key.
If the engine fails to start using a registered key
(for example, when interference is caused by
another registered key, an automated toll road
device or automatic payment device on the key
ring) , restart the engine using the following pro-
cedure:
1. Leave the ignition switch in the ON position for approximately 5 seconds.
2. Place the ignition switch in the OFF or LOCK position, and wait approximately
10 seconds.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
4. Restart the engine while holding the device (which may have caused the interference)
separate from the registered key.
If the no start condition re-occurs, NISSAN rec-
ommends placing the registered key on a sepa-
rate key ring to avoid interference from other
devices.

CAUTION
Use the P (Park) or R (Reverse) position
only when the vehicle is completely
stopped.
P (Park)
CAUTION
To prevent transmission damage, use the
P (Park) position only when the vehicle is
completely stopped
Use the P (Park) shift lever position when the
vehicle is parked or when starting the engine.
Make sure the vehicle is completely stopped.
The brake pedal must be depressed and
the shift lever button pushed in to move the
shift lever from N (Neutral) or any drive
position to P (Park) . Apply the parking brake.
When parking on a hill, apply the parking brake
first, then move the shift lever into the P (Park)
position.
R (Reverse)
CAUTION
To prevent transmission damage, use the
R (Reverse) position only when the vehicle
is completely stopped. Use the R (Reverse) position to back up. Make
sure the vehicle is completely stopped before
selecting the R (Reverse) position.
The brake
pedal must be depressed and the shift lever
button pushed in to move the shift lever
from P (Park) , N (Neutral) or any drive po-
sition to R (Reverse) .
N (Neutral)
Neither forward nor reverse gear is engaged. The
engine can be started in this position. You may
shift to N (Neutral) and restart a stalled engine
while the vehicle is moving.
D (Drive)
Use this position for all normal forward driving.
Manual shift mode
When the shift lever is in the manual shift gate,
the transmission is ready for the manual shift
mode. Shift ranges can be selected manually by
moving the shift lever up or down. To cancel
manual shift mode, return the shift lever to the D
(Drive) position. The transmission returns to au-
tomatic driving mode.
When the shift lever is shifted from D (Drive) to
the manual shift gate with the vehicle stopped or
while driving, the transmission enters the manual
shift mode. Shift ranges can be selected manu-
ally. In the manual shift mode, the shift range is displayed on the position indicator in the meter.
When shifting the shift lever to the manual shift
gate, the position indicator displays 1 (1st) up to
7 (7th) depending on vehicle speed.
Shift ranges up or down one by one as follows:
1⇔
2⇔ 3⇔ 4⇔ 5⇔ 6⇔ 7
7 (7th)
Use this position for all normal forward driving at
highway speeds.
6 (6th) and 5 (5th)
Use this position when driving up long slopes, or
for engine braking when driving down long
slopes.
4 (4th) , 3 (3rd) and 2 (2nd)
Use these positions for hill climbing or engine
braking on downhill grades.
1 (1st)
Use this position when climbing steep hills slowly
or when driving slowly, or for maximum engine
braking on steep downhill grades. ● Remember not to drive at high speeds for
extended periods of time in lower than 7th
gear. This reduces fuel economy.

HOW TO ENABLE/DISABLE THE
LDW SYSTEM
Perform the following steps to enable or disable
the LDW system.1. Press the
button until “Settings” dis-
plays in the vehicle information display and
then press the OK button. Use the
button to select “Driver Assistance”. Then
press the OK button.
2. Select “Driving Aids” and press the OK but- ton.
3. To set the LDW system to on or off, use the
buttons to navigate in the menu
and use the OK button to select or change
an item:
● Select “Lane” and press the OK button.
– To turn on the warning system, use the OK button to check the box for “Warn-
ing.”
LDW SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
WARNING
Listed below are the system limitations for
the LDW system. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions for proper use
of the LDW system could result in serious
injury or death.
●The system will not operate at speeds
below approximately 37 mph (60 km/h)
or if it cannot detect lane markers.
● Excessive noise will interfere with the
warning chime sound, and the chime
may not be heard.
● Do not use the LDW system under the
following conditions as it may not func-
tion properly:
– During bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.) .
– When driving on slippery roads, such as on ice or snow.
– When driving on winding or uneven roads.
– When there is a lane closure due to road repairs. – When driving in a makeshift or tem-
porary lane.
– When driving on roads where the lane width is too narrow.
– When driving without normal tire conditions (for example, tire wear,
low tire pressure, installation of
spare tire, tire chains, nonstandard
wheels) .
– When the vehicle is equipped with non-original brake parts or suspen-
sion parts.
– When you are towing a trailer or other vehicle.
The system may not function properly un-
der the following conditions: – On roads where there are multiple parallel lane markers; lane markers
that are faded or not painted clearly;
yellow painted lane markers; non-
standard lane markers; or lane mark-
ers covered with water, dirt, snow,
etc.
– On roads where the discontinued lane markers are still detectable.

– On roads where there are sharpcurves.
– On roads where there are sharply contrasting objects, such as shad-
ows, snow, water, wheel ruts, seams
or lines remaining after road repairs.
(The LDW system could detect these
items as lane markers.)
– On roads where the traveling lane merges or separates.
– When the vehicle’s traveling direc- tion does not align with the lane
marker.
– When traveling close to the vehicle in front of you, which obstructs the lane
camera unit detection range.
– When rain, snow, dirt or object ad- heres to the windshield in front of the
lane camera unit.
– When the headlights are not bright due to dirt on the lens or if the aiming
is not adjusted properly.
– When strong light enters the lane camera unit. (For example, the light
directly shines on the front of the
vehicle at sunrise or sunset.) – When a sudden change in brightness
occurs. (For example, when the ve-
hicle enters or exits a tunnel or under
a bridge.)
SYSTEM TEMPORARILY
UNAVAILABLE
If the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight under
high temperature conditions (over approximately
104°F (40°C)) and then started, the LDW system
may be deactivated automatically, the warning
systems ON indicator on the switch will flash and
the following message will appear in the vehicle
information display. - “Unavailable High Cabin
Temp.”
When the interior temperature is reduced, the
LDW system will resume operating automatically
and the warning systems ON indicator will stop
flashing.
The LDW system is not designed to warn under
the following conditions:
● When you operate the lane change signal
and change traveling lanes in the direction of
the signal. (The LDW system will become
operable again approximately 2 seconds af-
ter the lane change signal is turned off.)
● When the vehicle speed lowers to less than
approximately 37 mph (60 km/h). After the above conditions have finished and the
necessary operating conditions are satisfied, the
LDW functions will resume.
SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
If the LDW system malfunctions, it will cancel
automatically and “Malfunction: See Owner’s
Manual” will appear in the vehicle information
display. If “Malfunction: See Owner’s Manual”
appears in the vehicle information display, pull off
the road to a safe location and stop the vehicle.
Place shift lever in the P (Park) position and the
ignition switch to the OFF position and restart the
engine/motor. If “Malfunction: See Owner’s
Manual” continues to appear in the vehicle infor-
mation display, have the system checked. It is
recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.

LDP SYSTEM
Perform the following steps to enable or disable
the LDP system.1. Press the
button until “Settings” dis-
plays in the vehicle information display and
then press the OK button. Use the
button to select “Driver Assistance”. Then

2. Select “Driving Aids” and press the OK but- ton.
3. To set the LDP system to on or off, use the
buttons to navigate in the menu

– To turn on the assistance system, use the OK button to check the box for “Assist.”
LDP SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
WARNING
Listed below are the system limitations for
the LDP system. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions for proper use
of the LDP system could result in serious
injury or death. ●
The LDP system may activate if you
change lanes without first activating
your turn signal or, for example, if a
construction zone directs traffic to
cross an existing lane marker. If this
occurs you may need to apply corrective
steering to complete your lane change.
● Because the LDP may not activate un-
der the road, weather, and lane marker
conditions described in this section, it
may not activate every time your vehicle
begins to leave its lane and you will
need to apply corrective steering.
● When the LDP system is operating,
avoid excessive or sudden steering ma-
neuvers. Otherwise, you could lose con-
trol of the vehicle.
● The LDP system will not operate at
speeds below approximately 37 mph
(60 km/h) or if it cannot detect lane
markers.
● Do not use the LDP system under the
following conditions as it may not func-
tion properly:
– During bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.) . – When driving on slippery roads, such
as on ice or snow.

●When the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)
approach warning occurs.
● When the hazard warning flashers are oper-
ated.
● When driving on a curve at high speed.
After the above conditions have finished and the
necessary operating conditions are satisfied, the
LDP system application of the brakes will resume.
Condition C:
If the following messages appear in the vehicle
information display, a chime will sound and the
LDP system will be turned off automatically. ● “Unavailable Road is slippery”:
When the VDC system (except Traction
Control System (TCS) function) or ABS op-
erates.
● “Unavailable VDC OFF”:
When the VDC system is turned off.
Action to take:
When the above conditions no longer exist, turn
off the LDP system. Push the dynamic driver
assistance switch again to turn the LDP system
back on. Temporary disabled status at high tem-
perature:
If the vehicle is parked in direct sunlight under
high temperature conditions (over approximately
104°F (40°C)) and then the LDP system is turned
on, the LDP system may be deactivated auto-
matically and the following message will appear
on the vehicle information display: “Unavailable
High Cabin Temp.” When the interior tempera-
ture is reduced, the system will resume operating
automatically.
SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
If the LDP system malfunctions, it will cancel
automatically. The LDP system warning light (or-
ange) will illuminate in the display.
If the LDP system warning light (orange) illumi-
nates in the display, pull off the road to a safe
location and stop the vehicle. Turn the
engine/motor off and restart the engine/motor. If
the LDP system warning light (orange) continues
to illuminate, have the LDP system checked. It is
recommended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
The lane camera unit1for the LDP system is
located above the inside mirror. To keep the
proper operation of the LDP systems and prevent
a system malfunction, be sure to observe the
following:
● Always keep the windshield clean.
● Do not attach a sticker (including transpar-
ent material) or install an accessory near the
camera unit.

1. Side BSW/RCTA Indicator Light

BSW SYSTEM OPERATION
The BSW system operates above approximately
20 mph (32 km/h).
If the radar sensors detect a vehicle in the detec-
tion zone, the side BSW/RCTA indicator light (1)
illuminates. If the turn signal is then activated, the
system chimes (twice) , the side BSW/RCTA in-
dicator light flashes, and the BSW/RCTA indica-
tor illuminates (yellow) in the vehicle information
display. The side BSW/RCTA indicator light con-
tinues to flash until the detected vehicle leaves
the detection zone.
The side BSW/RCTA indicator light illuminates
for a few seconds when the ignition switch is
placed in the ON position.
The brightness of the side BSW/RCTA indicator
light is adjusted automatically depending on the
brightness of the ambient light.
If a vehicle comes into the detection zone after
the driver activates the turn signal, then only the
side BSW/RCTA indicator light flashes and no
chime sounds. For additional information, refer to
“BSW driving situations” in this section.The BSW system automatically turns on every
time the engine/motor is started, as long as it is
activated using the settings menu on the vehicle
information display.
Push the warning systems switch to turn off the
BSW system. The BSW indicator light will turn
off.

the BSW system.1. Press the
button until “Settings” dis-
plays in the vehicle information display and
then press OK. Use the
button to
select “Driver Assistance.” Then press the

Use the button to select “Driving Aids,” then
press the OK button.
2. Select “Blind Spot” and press the OK but- ton.
– To turn on the warning system, use the OK button to check the box for “Warn-
ing.”
NOTE:
When enabling/disabling the system, the
system will retain current settings even if
the engine is restarted.

SYSTEM TEMPORARILY
UNAVAILABLE
When radar blockage is detected, the system will
be deactivated automatically. The “Side Radar
Obstruction” warning message will appear in the
vehicle information display.
The system is not available until the conditions no
longer exist.
The radar sensors may be blocked by temporary
ambient conditions such as splashing water, mist
or fog. The blocked condition may also be caused
by objects such as ice, frost or dirt obstructing
the radar sensors.
NOTE:
If the BSW system stops working, the RCTA
system (if so equipped) will also stop work-
ing.
Action to take:
When the above conditions no longer exist, the
system will resume automatically.
Malfunction
If the BSW system malfunctions, it will turn off
automatically. The system malfunction warning
message will appear in the vehicle information
display.

Perform the following steps to enable or disable
the RCTA system.1. Press the
button until “Settings” dis-
plays in the vehicle information display and
then press OK. Use the
button to

2. Select “Parking Aids” and press the OK button.
3. Select “Cross Traffic” and press the OK button.
4. Use the OK button to enable or disable the system.
NOTE:
When enabling/disabling the system, the
system setting will be retained even if the
engine is restarted.
