∙ Do not use the Steering Assist under the following conditions because the
system will not operate properly:
– When driving with a tire that is not within normal tire conditions (for
example, tire wear, abnormal tire
pressure, installation of a spare
tire, tire chains, nonstandard
wheels)
– When the vehicle is equipped with non-original brake or suspension
parts – When an object such as a sticker or
cargo obstructs the camera
– When excessively heavy baggage is loaded in the rear seat or lug-
gage area of your vehicle
– When the vehicle load capacity is exceeded
– When towing a trailer or other vehicle
∙ Excessive noise will interfere with the warning chime sound, and the beep
may not be heard.
∙ For the ProPILOT Assist system to op- erate properly, the windshield in front
of the camera must be clean. Replace
worn wiper blades. The correct size
wiper blades must be used to help
make sure the windshield is kept
clean. Only use Genuine NISSAN wiper
blades, or equivalent wiper blades,
that are specifically designed for use
on your vehicle model and model
year. It is recommended that you visit
a NISSAN dealer for the correct parts
for your vehicle.Steering Assist temporary
standby
Automatic standby due to driving opera-
tion:
When the driver activates the turn signal,
the Steering Assist is temporarily placed in
a standby mode. (The Steering Assist re-
starts automatically when the operating
conditions are met again.)
Automatic standby:
In the following cases, a warning message
is displayed along with the chime, and the
Steering Assist is placed in a temporary
standby mode. (The Steering Assist re-
starts automatically when the operating
conditions are met again.)
∙ When lane markers on both sides are no longer detected
∙ When a vehicle ahead is no longer de- tected under approximately 37 mph
(60 km/h)

Conventional (fixed speed) cruise
control mode display and
indicators
The display is located in the vehicle infor-
mation display.1. Cruise indicator: This indicator indicates the condition of
the ICC system depending on a color.
∙ Cruise control ON indicator (gray): In- dicates that the ProPILOT Assist
switch is on ∙ Cruise control SET indicator (green):
Indicates that the cruising speed is
set
∙ Cruise control warning (yellow): Indi- cates that there is a malfunction in
the ICC system
2. Set vehicle speed indicator: This indicator indicates the set vehicle
speed. For Canadian models, the
speed is displayed in km/h.
Operating conventional (fixed
speed) cruise control mode
To turn on the conventional (fixed speed)
cruise control mode, push and hold the
ProPILOT Assist switch
Afor longer than
about 1.5 seconds.
When pushing the ProPILOT Assist switch
on, the conventional (fixed speed) cruise
control mode display and indicators
Bare

play. Af ter you hold the ProPILOT Assist

If any malfunction occurs in the AWD sys-
tem while the engine is running, the master
warning light will come on.
The master warning light may illuminate
while trying to free a stuck vehicle due to
high powertrain oil temperature. The driv-
ing mode may change to 2–Wheel Drive.
AUTO mode may change to LOCK mode
before the warning light illuminates. If the
master warning light illuminates during
operation, stop the vehicle with the engine
idling in a safe place immediately. Then, if
the light turns off af ter a while, you can
continue driving.
A large difference between the diameters
of the front and rear wheels will make the
warning light illuminate. Pull off the road in
a safe area and idle the engine. Check that
all tire sizes are the same, tire pressure is
correct, and the tires are not worn.CAUTION
∙ If the warning light remains on af terthe above operation, have your ve-
hicle checked as soon as possible. It is
recommended that you visit a NISSAN
dealer for this service.
∙ If the warning light comes on while driving, there may be a malfunction in
the AWD system. Reduce the vehicle
speed and have your vehicle checked
as soon as possible. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer
for this service.
∙ The powertrain may be damaged if you continue driving with the warning
light illuminated.
∙ Never drive on dry, hard surface roads in the LOCK mode, as this will overload
the powertrain and may cause a seri-
ous malfunction.
WARNING
∙ For AWD equipped vehicles, do not at-tempt to raise two wheels off the
ground and shif t the transmission to
any drive or reverse position with the
engine running. Doing so may result
in drivetrain damage or unexpected
vehicle movement which could result
in serious vehicle damage or personal
injury.
∙ Do not attempt to test an AWD equipped vehicle on a 2–wheel dyna-
mometer (such as the dynamometers
used by some states for emissions
testing) or similar equipment even if
the other two wheels are raised off the
ground. Make sure that you inform
the test facility personnel that your
vehicle is equipped with AWD before it
is placed on a dynamometer. Using
the wrong test equipment may result
in drivetrain damage or unexpected
vehicle movement which could result
in serious vehicle damage or personal
injury.

∙ The AWD torque distribution betweenthe front and rear wheels can be dis-
played in the video information display.
∙ If the AWD LOCK switch is operated while accelerating or decelerating, or if
the ignition switch is placed in the OFF
position, you may feel a jolt. This is nor-
mal.
∙ The oil temperature of the powertrain parts will increase if the vehicle is con-
tinuously operated under conditions
where the difference in rotation be-
tween the front and rear wheels is large
(wheel slip), such as when driving the
vehicle on rough roads or through sand
or mud or freeing a stuck vehicle. In
these cases, the master warning light
illuminates and the AWD mode
changes to 2–Wheel Drive to protect the
powertrain parts. Stop driving with the
engine idling and wait until the warning
light turns off and the AWD returns to
the AUTO mode. If the warning light re-
mains on, have your vehicle checked as
soon as possible. It is recommended
that you visit a NISSAN dealer for this
service.WARNING
∙ When driving straight, shif t the AWDLOCK switch to AUTO. Do not operate
the AWD LOCK switch when making a
turn or backing up.
∙ Do not operate the AWD LOCK switch with the front wheel spinning.
∙ Engine idling speed is high while warming up the engine. Be especially
careful when starting or driving on
slippery surfaces.
∙ When turning the vehicle in LOCK mode on paved roads, you may feel a
braking effect. This is a normal condi-
tion of the AWD model.

The chassis control is an electric control
module that includes the following func-
tions:∙ Intelligent Trace Control
∙ Intelligent Engine Brake
∙ Active Ride Control
INTELLIGENT TRACE CONTROL
(I-TC)
This system senses driving based on the
driver’s steering and acceleration/braking
patterns, and controls brake pressure at
individual wheels to aid tracing at corners
and help smooth vehicle response.
The I-TC can be set to on (enabled) or off
(disabled) through the vehicle information
display “Settings” page. For additional infor-
mation, refer to “Vehicle information dis-
play” in the “Instruments and controls” sec-
tion of this manual.
When the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
OFF switch is used to turn off the VDC sys-
tem, the I-TC is also turned off. When the I-TC is operated and the “Chassis
Control” mode is selected in the vehicle in-
formation display, the I-TC graphics are
shown in the vehicle information display.
For additional information, refer to “Vehicle
information display” in the “Instruments
and controls” section of this manual.
If the “Chassis Control System Error: See
Owner’s Manual” warning message ap-
pears in the vehicle information display, it
may indicate that the I-TC is not function-
ing properly. Have the system checked as
soon as possible. It is recommended that
you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.
WARNING
The I-TC may not be effective depend-
ing on the driving condition. Always
drive carefully and attentively.
When the I-TC is operating, you may feel a
pulsation in the brake pedal and hear a
noise. This is normal and indicates that the
I-TC is operating properly.
Even if the I-TC is turned off, some functions
will remain on to assist the driver (for ex-
ample, avoidance scenes).

INTELLIGENT ENGINE BRAKE (I-EB)
The I-EB function adds subtle deceleration
by controlling Continuously Variable Trans-
mission (CVT) gear ratio, depending on the
cornering condition calculated from driv-
er’s steering input and plural sensors. This
benefit is for easier traceability and less
workload of adjusting speed with braking
at corners.
The I-EB also enhances braking feel by
adding subtle deceleration with CVT gear
ratio control according to driver’s brake
pedal operation
The I-EB can be set to on (enabled) or off
(disabled) through the vehicle information
display “Settings” page. For additional infor-
mation, refer to “Vehicle information dis-
play” in the “Instruments and controls” sec-
tion of this manual.When the I-EB is operated at corners and
the “Chassis Control” mode is selected in

ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL (ARC)
This system senses upper body motion
(based on wheel speed information) and
controls engine torque and four wheel
brake pressure. This will enhance ride com-
fort in effort to restrain uncomfortable up-
per body movement when passing over
undulated road surfaces. This system
comes into effect above 25 mph (40 km/h).
When the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
OFF switch is used to turn off the VDC sys-
tem, the ARC is also turned off.When brake control of ARC is operated and
the “Chassis Control” mode is selected in
the vehicle information display, the ARC
graphics are shown in the vehicle informa-
tion display. For additional information, re-
fer to “Vehicle information display” in the
“Instruments and controls” section of this
manual.
If the “Chassis Control System Error: See
Owner’s Manual” warning message ap-
pears in the vehicle information display, it
may indicate that the ARC is not function-
ing properly. Have the system checked as
soon as possible. It is recommended that
you visit a NISSAN dealer for this service.When the ARC is operating, you may hear
noise and sense slight deceleration. This is
normal and indicates that the ARC is oper-
ating properly.

DRIVING ON SNOW OR ICE
WARNING
∙ Wet ice (32°F, 0°C and freezing rain),very cold snow or ice can be slick and
very hard to drive on. The vehicle will
have much less traction or “grip” un-
der these conditions. Try to avoid driv-
ing on wet ice until the road is salted
or sanded.
∙ Whatever the condition, drive with caution. Accelerate and slow down
with care. If accelerating or down-
shif ting too fast, the drive wheels will
lose even more traction.
∙ Allow more stopping distance under these conditions. Braking should be
started sooner than on dry pavement.
∙ Allow greater following distances on slippery roads.
∙ Watch for slippery spots (glare ice). These may appear on an otherwise
clear road in shaded areas. If a patch
of ice is seen ahead, brake before
reaching it. Try not to brake while on
the ice, and avoid any sudden steering
maneuvers. ∙ Do not use the cruise control (if so
equipped) on slippery roads.
∙ Snow can trap dangerous exhaust gases under your vehicle. Keep snow
clear of the exhaust pipe and from
around your vehicle.
PARKING BRAKE
CAUTION
When parking in an area where the out-
side temperature is below 32°F (0°C), the
parking brake, if applied, may freeze in
place and may be difficult to release.
For safe parking, it is recommended
that you place the shif t lever in the P
(Park) position and securely block the
wheels.
For models equipped with
electronic parking brake system
CAUTION
To keep the electronic parking brake re-
leased af ter the engine is turned off, re-
fer to “Parking brake” in this section.
