Trip computer setting mode.(See “Trip compu-
ter” (P.2-22) .)
The outside temperature sensor is located in
front of the radiator. The sensor may be affected
by road or engine heat, wind directions and
other driving conditions. The display may differ
from the actual outside temperature or the
temperature displayed on various signs or bill-
boards.
If the battery was disconnected, when it is
reconnected and the ignition switch is placed in
the ON position,8F or8C will flash for one
minute to check the outside temperature sensor.
When the outside temperature sensor is opera-
tional, the outside temperature will be displayed.
If the outside temperature sensor is not opera-
tional, the outside temperature will not be
displayed.

position while the ignition switch is in
the ON position, the lights will automatically
turn off within a period of time after the
ignition switch has been turned to the OFF
position.
. When the headlight switch remains in the
orposition after the lights auto-
matically turn off, the lights will turn on when
the ignition switch is turned to the ON
position.
CAUTION
. When you turn on the headlight
switch again after the lights auto-
matically turn off, the lights will not
turn off automatically. Be sure to
turn the light switch to the OFF
position when you leave the vehicle
for extended periods of time, other-
wise the battery will be discharged.
. Never leave the light switch on
when the engine is not running for
extended periods of time even if the
headlights turn off automatically.

position. To turn them off, turn the
switch to the OFF position.
The headlights must be on for the fog lights to
operate.
When the headlight high-beam is selected, the
fog lights turn off.

The power outlet is located in the instrument
panel and the center console.
CAUTION
.The outlet and plug may be hot
during or immediately after use.
. Do not use with accessories that
exceed a 12 volt, 120W (10A) power
draw. Do not use double adapters or
more than one electrical accessory.
. Use power outlet with the engine
running to avoid discharging the
vehicle battery.
. Avoid using power outlet when the
air conditioner, headlights or rear
window defroster is on.
. Before inserting or disconnecting a
plug, be sure the electrical acces-
sory being used is turned OFF.
. This power outlet is not designed
for use with a cigarette lighter unit.
. Push the plug in as far as it will go.
If good contact is not made, the plug
may overheat or the internal tem-
perature fuse may open. .
When not in use, be sure to close
the cap. Do not allow water or any
liquid to contact the outlet.

.Avoid abrupt starting and braking
when the cup holder is being used
to prevent spilling the drink. If the

prevent the battery from becoming dis-
charged.

the cover on the vanity mirror is opened.
When the cover is closed, the light will turn off.
The lights will turn off after a period of
time when the lights remain illuminated to
prevent the battery from becoming dis-
charged.

CHILD SAFETY REAR DOOR LOCKS35-D-110201-E7140EBB-C56B-4EFA-B4A0-B356D8C49F31Child safety rear door locks help prevent the rear
doors from being opened accidentally, espe-
cially when small children are in the vehicle.
When the levers are in the lock position
*1, the rear doors can be opened only
from the outside.
To disengage, move the levers to the unlock
position
*2.

the lift gate) , and activate the panic alarm by
using the keyfob from outside the vehicle.
Before locking the doors, make sure the
key is not left in the vehicle.
The keyfob can operate at a distance of
approximately 33 ft (10 m) from the vehicle.
(The effective distance depends upon the
conditions around the vehicle.)
As many as 5 keyfobs can be used with one
vehicle. For information concerning the pur-
chase and use of additional keyfobs, contact a
NISSAN dealer.
The keyfob will not function:
. When the keyfob is not within the opera-
tional range.
. When the doors are open or not closed
securely.
. When the key is in the ignition switch.
. When the battery is discharged.
WARNING
The remote keyless entry keyfob trans-
mits radio waves when the buttons are
pushed. The FAA advises that the radio
waves may affect aircraft navigation
and communication systems. Do not operate the keyfob while on an air-
plane. Make sure the buttons are not
operated unintentionally when the unit
is stored during a flight.
CAUTION
The following conditions or occur-
rences will damage the keyfob.
.
Do not allow the keyfob to become
wet.
. Do not drop the keyfob.
. Do not strike the keyfob sharply
against another object.
. If the outside temperature is below
148F (-108C) degrees, the battery of
keyfob may not function properly.
. Do not place the keyfob for an
extended period in an area where
temperatures exceed 1408F (608C) .
If a keyfob is lost or stolen, NISSAN
recommends erasing the ID code of that
keyfob. This will prevent the keyfob
from unauthorized use to unlock the
vehicle. For information regarding the
erasing procedure, please contact a

HOW TO USE REMOTE KEYLESS

2. Close all the doors.
3. Push the LOCK

keyfob.
4. All the doors will lock. All of the doors will lock when the LOCK
button is pushed even though a door
remains open.
5. The hazard indicator flashes twice and the horn chirps once.
. When the LOCK
button is pushed with
all doors locked, the hazard indicator flashes
twice and the horn chirps once as a
reminder that the doors are already locked.
. Operate the door handles to confirm that the
doors have been securely locked.

keyfob.
.The driver’s door unlocks..The hazard indicator flashes once if all doors are completely closed.
2. Push the UNLOCK
button again within
5 seconds.

All doors will be locked automatically unless one
of the following operations is performed within 1
minute of pushing the UNLOCK
button.
. Any door or lift gate is opened.
. The ignition switch is turned to the ON
position.

Using panic alarmS35-D-110201-1BFE353E-D31D-455C-84CE-1BA2297CF9C6If you are near your vehicle and feel threatened,
you may activate the alarm to call attention as
follows:
1. Push the PANIC
button*3on the
keyfob for more than 1 second.
2. The theft warning alarm and headlights will stay on for 25 seconds.
3. The panic alarm stops when:
.It has run for 25 seconds, or.Any of the buttons on the keyfob is pushed. (Note: the PANIC button must
be pushed for more than 1 second.)
Battery indicator lightGUID-4BEFDF18-3946-464F-9CD9-A429F59D8F97The battery indicator light*4illuminates when
you push any button. If the light does not
illuminate, the battery is weak or needs replace-
ment. For information regarding replacement of
a battery, see “Battery replacement” (P.8-22) .
Setting hazard indicator and horn modeS35-D-110201-9248839D-3D23-438A-9E35-5533D7B6AFCAThis vehicle is set in hazard indicator and horn
mode when you first receive the vehicle.
In hazard indicator and horn mode, when the
LOCK
button*1is pushed, the hazard
indicator flashes twice and the horn chirps once.
When the UNLOCK
button*2is pushed,
the hazard indicator flashes once.
If the horn chirp is not necessary, you can switch
to hazard indicator only mode by following the
switching procedure.
In hazard indicator only mode, when the LOCK
button is pushed, the hazard indicator
flashes twice. When the UNLOCK
button is
pushed, neither the hazard indicator nor the horn
operates.
