INDICATORS FOR MAINTENANCES35-D-110201-800F6ACB-DB84-4028-98D1-DAACB7798F91
1. Service due indicatorS35-D-110201-CFD2A761-A4C9-4CF4-8BE3-496BCDE236ACThis indicator appears when the customer set
distance comes for service due, for example, for
engine oil and oil filter. You can set or reset the
distance for service due. (See “Trip computer”
(P.2-22) .) For scheduled maintenance items and
intervals, see your NISSAN Service and Main-
tenance Guide.
2. Tire replacement indicatorS35-D-110201-CE0B87AB-634A-4111-8740-7919E54C2B20This indicator appears when the customer set
distance comes for replacing tires. You can set
or reset the distance for replacing tires. (See
“Trip computer” (P.2-22) .)
WARNING
The tire replacement indicator is not a
substitute for regular tire checks, in-
cluding tire pressure checks. See
“Changing wheels and tires” (P.8-36) .
Many factors including tire inflation,
alignment, driving habits and road con-
ditions affect tire wear and when tires
should be replaced. Setting the tire
replacement indicator for a certain
driving distance does not mean your
tires will last that long. Use the tirereplacement indicator as a guide only
and always perform regular tire checks.
Failure to perform regular tire checks,
including tire pressure checks could
result in tire failure. Serious vehicle
damage could occur and may lead to a
collision, which could result in serious
personal injury or death.
3. “OTHER” indicatorS35-D-110201-ED731025-DFE8-493E-8EAF-5AFA33B448D9This indicator appears when the customer set
distance comes for checking or replacing
maintenance items other than the engine oil, oil
filter and tires. Other maintenance items can
include such things as air filter or tire rotation.
You can set or reset the distance for checking or
replacing the items. (See “Trip computer” (P.2-
22).) For scheduled maintenance items and
intervals, see your NISSAN Service and Main-
tenance Guide.

.The original tires have built-in
tread wear indicators. When
wear indicators are visible, the
tire(s) should be replaced.
. Tires degrade with age and use.
Have tires, including the spare,
over 6 years old checked by a
qualified technician, because
some tire damage may not be
obvious. Replace the tires as
necessary to prevent tire failure
and possible personal injury.
. Improper service of the spare
tire may result in serious perso-
nal injury. If it is necessary to
repair the spare tire, contact a
NISSAN dealer.
. For additional information re-
garding tires, refer to “Important
Tire Safety Information” in the
Warranty Information Booklet.Replacing wheels and tiresGUID-5F49021B-1D68-4060-A4C5-6D4AD42F0837When replacing a tire, use the same size, tread
design, speed rating and load carrying capacity
as originally equipped. (See “Specifications”
(P.9-7) for recommended types and sizes of
tires and wheels.)
WARNING
. The use of tires other than those
recommended or the mixed use of
tires of different brands, construc-
tion (bias, bias-belted or radial) , or
tread patterns can adversely affect
the ride, braking, handling, ground
clearance, body-to-tire clearance,
tire chain clearance, speedometer
calibration, headlight aim and bum-
per height. Some of these effects
may lead to accidents and could
result in serious personal injury.
. For 2WD models, if your vehicle was
originally equipped with 4 tires that
were the same size and you are only
replacing 2 of the 4 tires, install the
new tires on the rear axle. Placing
new tires on the front axle may
cause loss of vehicle control in
some driving conditions and cause an accident and personal injury.
. If the wheels are changed for any
reason, always replace with wheels
which have the same off-set dimen-
sion. Wheels of a different off-set
could cause premature tire wear,
degrade vehicle handling character-
istics and/or interference with the
brake discs/drums. Such interfer-
ence can lead to decreased braking
efficiency and/or early brake pad/
shoe wear. See “Wheels and tires”
(P.9-7) of this manual for wheel off-
set dimensions.
. When a spare tire is mounted or a
wheel is replaced, the TPMS will not
function and the low tire pressure
warning light will flash for approxi-
mately 1 minute. The light will
remain on after 1 minute. Contact
your NISSAN dealer as soon as
possible for tire replacement and/
or system resetting.
. Replacing tires with those not ori-
ginally specified by NISSAN could
affect the proper operation of the
TPMS.
. Do not install a damaged or de-
formed wheel or tire even if it has

WARNING
A vehicle equipped with All-Wheel Drive
(AWD) should never be tested using a
two wheel dynamometer (such as the
dynamometers used by some states for
emissions testing) , or similar equip-
ment. Make sure you inform test facility
personnel that your vehicle is equipped
with AWD before it is placed on a
dynamometer. Using the wrong test
equipment may result in transmission
damage or unexpected vehicle move-
ment which could result in serious
vehicle damage or personal injury.
Due to legal requirements in some states, your
vehicle may be required to be in what is called
the “ready condition” for an Inspection/Main-
tenance (I/M) test of the emission control
system.
The vehicle is set to the “ready condition” when
it is driven through certain driving patterns.
Usually, the “ready condition” can be obtained
by ordinary usage of the vehicle.
If a powertrain system component is repaired or
the battery is disconnected, the vehicle may be
reset to a “not ready condition”. Before taking the I/M test, check the vehicle’s inspection/
maintenance test readiness condition. Place the
ignition switch in the ON position without
starting the engine. If the Malfunction Indicator
Light (MIL) comes on steady for 20 seconds and
then blinks for 10 seconds, the I/M test
condition is “not ready”. If the MIL does not
blink after 20 seconds, the I/M test condition is
“ready”.
Contact a NISSAN dealer to set “ready condi-
tion” or to prepare the vehicle for testing.
GUID-D562961D-9AFE-4754-8C59-8C01CE2FEDDBThis vehicle is equipped with an Event Data
Recorder (EDR) . The main purpose of an EDR is
to record, in certain crash or near crash-like
situations, such as an air bag deployment or
hitting a road obstacle, data that will assist in
understanding how a vehicle’s systems per-
formed. The EDR is designed to record data
related to vehicle dynamics and safety systems
for a short period of time, typically 30 seconds
or less. The EDR in this vehicle is designed to
record such data as:
.
How various systems in your vehicle were
operating;
. Whether or not the driver and passenger
safety belts were buckled/fastened;
. How far (if at all) the driver was depressing
the accelerator and/or brake pedal; and,
. How fast the vehicle was traveling.
. Sounds are not recorded.
These data can help provide a better under-
standing of the circumstances in which crashes
and injuries occur.
NOTE: EDR data are recorded by your vehicle
only if a nontrivial crash situation occurs; no data
are recorded by the EDR under normal driving
conditions and no personal data (e.g. name,
gender, age and crash location) are recorded.
However, other parties, such as law enforce-
ment, could combine the EDR data with the type
