Select only engine oils that meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) certification and International Lubrica-
tion Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) ce rtification and SAE viscosity standard. These oils
have the API certification mark on the front of the container. Oils which do not have the specified quality label
should not be used as they could cause engine damage.
Anti-freeze Coolant Mixture RatioINFOID:0000000005394800
The engine cooling system is filled at the factory wit h a high-quality, long life, year-round, anti-freeze coolant
solution. The anti-freeze solution contains rust and corrosion inhibitors. Therefore, additional cooling system
additives are not necessary.
CAUTION:
• When adding or replacing coolant, be sure to use only a Genuine NISSAN Long Life Anti-Freeze
coolant or equivalent with the proper mixture ratio.
• The use of other types of coolant soluti ons may damage the engine cooling system.

6. Perform a self-diagnosis check of a ll control units using CONSULT-III.
Precaution for Procedure without Cowl Top CoverINFOID:0000000005716035
When performing the procedure after removing cowl top cover, cover
the lower end of windshield with urethane, etc.

•Use recommended brake fluid when adding flui d to the clutch reservoir tank. Refer to MA-14.
• Never reuse fluid drained from clutch system.
• Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas.
• Use new brake fluid to clean or wash all part s of master cylinder and operating cylinder.
• Never use mineral oils such as gasoline or kerosene. It will ruin the rubber parts of the hydraulic sys-
tem.
• If transaxle assembly is removed from the vehicle , always replace CSC (Concentric slave cylinder).
Return CSC to original position to remove transaxle assembly. Dust on clutch disc sliding parts may
damage CSC seal and may cause clutch fluid leakage.
• Do not disassemble clutch master cylinder and CSC.
WARNING:
After cleaning clutch disc, clean it with a dust collector. Do not use compressed air.

• When removing or installing various parts, place a cloth or padding onto the vehicle body to prevent
scratches.
• Handle trim, molding instruments, grille, etc. carefully during removing or installing. Be careful not to oil or
damage them.
• Apply sealing compound where necessary when installing parts.
• When applying sealing compound, be careful that the sealing compound does not protrude from parts.
• When replacing any metal parts (for example body outer panel, member, etc.), be sure to take rust preven-
tion measures.

• When removing or disassembling any part, be careful not to damage or deform it. Protect parts which may
get in the way with cloth.
• When removing parts with a screwdriver or other tool , protect parts by wrapping tools with vinyl or tape.
• Keep removed parts protected with cloth.
• If a clip is deformed or damaged, replace it.
• If an unreusable part is removed, replace it with a new one.
• Tighten bolts and nuts firmly to the specified torque.
• After re-assembly has been completed, make sure each part functions correctly.
• Remove stains in the following way.
Water-soluble stains:
Dip a soft cloth in warm water, and then squeeze it tight ly. After wiping the stain, wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Oil stain:
Dissolve a synthetic detergent in warm water (density of 2 to 3% or less), dip the cloth, then clean off the stain
with the cloth. Next, dip the cloth in fresh water and squeeze it tightly. Then clean off the detergent completely.
Then wipe the area with a soft dry cloth.
• Do not use any organic solvent, such as thinner or benzine.
