3. Assemble the two pieces of the jack rod.Find the oval-shaped opening above the
middle of the license plate. Pass the
T-shaped end of the jack rod through the

designed to be inserted at an angle as
shown. 4. Fit the square end of the jack rod into the
square hole of the wheel nut wrench to form
a handle.
5. Seat the T-shaped end of the jack rod into the T-shaped opening of the tire winch. Ap-

the spare tire winch and turn the jack rod
counterclockwise to lower the spare tire.
6. Once the spare tire is completely lowered, reach under the vehicle, remove the retainer

Adjust tire pressure to the COLD pressure.
COLD pressure: After vehicle has been
parked for three hours or more or driven
less than 1 mi. (1.6 km) .
COLD tire pressures are shown on the Tire
and Loading Information label affixed to
the driver side center pillar.
After adjusting tire pressure to the COLD
tire pressure, the display (if so equipped) of
the tire pressure information may show
higher pressure than the COLD tire pres-
sure after the vehicle has been driven more
than 1 mi. (1.6 km) . This is because the tire
pressure increases as the tire temperature
rises. This does not indicate a system mal-
function.5. Securely store the flat tire and jacking equip- ment in the vehicle.WARNING
●Always make sure that the spare tire
and jacking equipment are properly se-
cured after use. Such items can become
dangerous projectiles in an accident or
sudden stop.
● The spare tire is designed for emer-
gency use. See specific instructions un-
der the heading “Wheels and tires” in
the “Maintenance and do-it-yourself”
section of this manual. To start your engine with a booster battery, the
instructions and precautions below must be fol-
lowed.
WARNING
●
If done incorrectly, jump starting can
lead to a battery explosion, resulting in
severe injury or death. It could also
damage your vehicle.
● Explosive hydrogen gas is always pres-
ent in the vicinity of the battery. Keep all
sparks and flames away from the
battery.
● Do not allow battery fluid to come into
contact with eyes, skin, clothing or
painted surfaces. Battery fluid is a cor-
rosive sulfuric acid solution which can
cause severe burns. If the fluid should
come into contact with anything, imme-
diately flush the contacted area with
water.
● Keep battery out of the reach of
children.
● The booster battery must be rated at 12
volts. Use of an improperly rated battery
can damage your vehicle.
