Driver Assistance
The driver assistance menu allows the user to change the various driving and parking aids.
Some menu items shown below may not be equipped on your vehicle.
Menu itemExplanation
Lane Displays available lane options.
Warning (LDW) Allows user to turn the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system on or off. For additional information, see “Lane Departure
Warning (LDW)” (P. 5-27).
Blind Spot Displays available blind spot options.
Warning (BSW) Allows user to turn the Blind Spot Warning (BSW) system on or off. For additional information, see “Blind Spot Warning (BSW)”
(P. 5-32).
Emergency Brake Displays available emergency brake options.
Front Allows user to turn the front emergency braking system on or off. For additional information, see “Automatic Emergency
Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection” (P. 5-80) and “Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (I-FCW)” (P. 5-90).
Rear Allows user to turn the rear emergency braking system on or off. For additional information, see “Rear Automatic Braking
(RAB)” (P. 5-75).
Traffic Sign Allows use to turn the Speed Limit Sign recognition on or off. For additional information, see “Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)”
(P. 5-24).
Driver Attention Allows user to turn the Intelligent Driver Alertness system on or off. For additional information, see “Intelligent Driver Alertne ss
(I-DA)” (P. 5-102).
Parking Aids Displays available parking aids.
Moving Object Allows user to turn the Moving Object Detection (MOD) on or off. For additional information, see “Moving Object Detection
(MOD)” (P. 4-23).
CTA Allows user to turn the Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) system on or off. For additional information, see “Rear Cross Traffic Alert
(RCTA)” (P. 5-42).
Sensor Allows the user to enable and disable the front and rear sensors.
Display Allows user to turn the display on or off in the vehicle information display.
Volume Allows user to adjust the volume of warning chimes.
Range Allows user to set a specific range for the sensors to engage.

SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Observe the following items to ensure
proper operation of the system:
• Always keep the parking sensors
O1
clean.
• If the parking sensors are dirty, wipe them off with a sof t cloth while being careful to
not damage them. • Do not subject the area around the park-
ing sensors
O1to strong impact. Also, do
not remove or disassemble the parking
sensors. If the parking sensors and pe-
ripheral areas are deformed in an acci-
dent, etc., have the sensors checked. It is
recommended that you visit a NISSAN
dealer for this service.
• Do not install any stickers (including transparent stickers) or accessories on
the parking sensors
O1and their sur-
rounding areas. This may cause a mal-
function or improper operation.
WARNING
Failure to follow the warnings and in-
structions for proper use of the AEB
with Pedestrian Detection system
could result in serious injury or death.
• The AEB with Pedestrian Detection
system is a supplemental aid to the
driver. It is not a replacement for the
driver’s attention to traffic condi-
tions or responsibility to drive safely.
It cannot prevent accidents due to
carelessness or dangerous driving
techniques.
• The AEB with Pedestrian Detection
system does not function in all driv-
ing, traffic, weather and road
conditions.
The AEB with Pedestrian Detection system
can assist the driver when there is a risk of
a forward collision with the vehicle ahead in
the traveling lane or with a pedestrian
ahead in the traveling lane.

• While going downhill, the weight of thetrailer pushing on the tow vehicle may
decrease overall stability. Therefore, to
maintain adequate control, reduce your
speed and shif t to a lower gear. Avoid
long or repeated use of the brakes when
descending a hill, as this reduces their
effectiveness and could cause overheat-
ing. Shif ting to a lower gear instead pro-
vides “engine braking” and reduces the
need to brake as frequently.
• If the engine coolant temperature rises to a high temperature, see “If your vehicle
overheats” (P. 6-12).
• Trailer towing requires more fuel than normal circumstances.
• Avoid towing a trailer for your vehicle's first 500 miles (805 km).
• For the first 500 miles (805 km) that you do tow, do not drive over 50 mph (80
km/h).
• Have your vehicle serviced more of ten than at intervals specified. For additional
information, see the “Maintenance and
schedules” section of this manual.
• When making a turn, your trailer wheels will be closer to the inside of the turn than
your vehicle wheels. To compensate for
this, make a larger than normal turning
radius during the turn. • Crosswinds and rough roads will ad-
versely affect vehicle/trailer handling,
possibly causing vehicle sway. When be-
ing passed by larger vehicles, be pre-
pared for possible changes in crosswinds
that could affect vehicle handling.
Trailer Sway Assist :
To minimize trailer sway, your vehicle may
apply braking to individual wheels based
on input from your vehicle sensors and ve-
hicle speed. Trailer sway control is a func-
tion of the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
system and is active when the VDC func-
tion is enabled.
CAUTION
If the VDC-OFF switch is on (meaning
VDC system OFF), the Trailer Sway As-
sist is also disabled
When Trailer Sway Assist is in operation, the
VDC warning light blinks. When vehicle con-
trol is regained, VDC warning light will turn
OFF.
For additional information about the VDC
system, see “Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
OFF switch” (P. 2-58) and “Vehicle Dynamic
Control (VDC) system” (P. 5-120). If Trailer Sway Assist activates, do the
following:
1. Take your foot off the accelerator pedal
to allow the vehicle to coast and steer as
straight ahead as the road conditions
allow. This combination will help stabilize
the vehicle
CAUTION
Do not try to correct trailer sway by
steering or applying the brakes.
2. When the trailer sway stops, gently apply the brakes and pull to the side of the
road in a safe area.
3. Try to rearrange the trailer load so it is balanced. For additional information,
see “Pre-towing tips” (P. 10-50).
NOTE:
Trailer Sway Assist cannot reduce trailer
sway in all situations.
• Be careful when passing other vehicles.Passing while towing a trailer requires
considerably more distance than normal
passing. Remember, the length of the
trailer must also pass the other vehicle
before you can safely change lanes.
