ordinarily willnotinflate inthe event ofa
front impact, rearimpact, rollover, orlower
severity sidecollision. Alwaysweartheseat
belts tohelp reduce therisk orseverity of
injury inaccidents.
. The seat belts andthesupplemental side-
impact airbags andsupplemental curtain
side-impact airbags aremost effective when
you aresitting wellback andupright inthe
seat. Thesupplemental side-impactairbags
and supplemental curtainside-impact air
bags inflate withgreat force. Ifyou and your
passengers areunrestrained, leaningfor-
ward, sitting sideways, orout ofposition in
any way, youand your passengers areat
greater riskofinjury ordeath inan accident.
. Donot allow anyone toplace theirhands,
legs, orface near thesupplemental side-
impact airbags andsupplemental curtain
side-impact airbags onthe sides ofthe
seatback ofthe front seats ornear theside
roof rails. Donot allow anyone sittinginthe
front seats orrear outboard seatstoextend
their hands outofthe windows orlean
against thedoors. Someexamples ofdan-
gerous ridingpositions areshown inthe
illustrations.
. When sitting inthe rear seats, donot hold
onto theseatback ofthe front seats. Ifthe
supplemental side-impactairbags andsup-
plemental curtainside-impact airbags in-
flate, youmay beseriously injured.Be
especially carefulwithchildren, whoshould always
beproperly restrained.
. Donot use seat covers onthe front seat-
backs. Theymayinterfere withthesupple-
mental side-impact airbag inflations.
Pre-tensioner seatbeltsystem

The pre-tensioner seatbeltsystem activates in
conjunction withthesupplemental front-impactair
bag. Working withtheseat beltretractor andanchor, it
helps tighten theseat belttheinstant thevehicle
becomes involvedincertain typesofcollisions, helping
to restrain frontseatoccupants. (SeeªPre-tensioner

SRS airbag warning light

The SRS airbag warning light, displaying
in the
meter, monitors thecircuits forthe airbag systems,
pre-tensioner seatbeltsystems andallrelated wiring.
When theignition switchisin the ªONº position, the
SRS airbag warning lightilluminates forabout 7
seconds andthen turns off.This indicates thattheSRS
air bag systems areoperational.
If any ofthe following conditions occur,theairbag
and/or pre-tensioner seatbeltsystems needservicing:
. The SRS airbag warning lightremains onafter
approximately 7seconds. .
The SRS airbag warning lightflashes intermit-
tently .
. TheSRS airbag warning lightdoes notilluminate
at all.
Under theseconditions, theairbag and/or pre-
tensioner seatbeltsystems maynotoperate properly.
They must bechecked andrepaired. Contacta
NISSAN dealerimmediately .

When thedefogger switchispushed, theindicator

operates forapproximately 15minutes. Afterthepreset
time haspassed, thedefogger willturn offautomati-
cally .
T o turn offmanually ,push thedefogger switchagain.
CAUTION:
. When operating thedefogger continuously,
be sure tostart theengine. Otherwise, itmay
cause thebattery todischarge.
. When cleaning theinner sideofthe window,
be careful nottoscratch ordamage the
electrical conductors onthe surface ofthe
window.
NO TE:
When therear defogger isturned on,the Stop/
Start System orIdling StopSystem (ifequipped)
will notbeactivated.

The horn switch operates regardless ofthe ignition

inside thevehicle beforeclosing thesunroof and
sunshade.
The auto-reverse functionenablesthesunroof and
sunshade toautomatically reversewhensomething is
caught inthe sunroof andsunshade asitis closing.
When thecontrol unitdetects anobstacle, thesunroof
and sunshade willopen immediately .
Depending onthe environment ordriving conditions,
the auto-reverse functionmayactivate ifan impact or
load similar tosomething beingcaught inthe sunroof
and sunshade occurs.
If the auto-reverse functionactivates consecutively or
the battery isdischarged, thesunroof andsunshade
may notclose properly .In this case, pushandhold the
switch tothe CLOSE position

Mechanical key

the back ofthe Intelligent Key .
T o install themechanical key,firmly insert itinto the
Intelligent Key until thelock knob returns tothe lock

System activation isalways safelyconducted.
. When thevehicle isoccupied, neverlockthe
doors withtheremote controller orthe
Intelligent Key(ifequipped) .Doing sowill
trap theoccupants, sincetheSuper Lock
System prevents thedoors frombeing
opened fromtheinside ofthe vehicle.
. Only operate theremote controller orthe
Intelligent Key(ifequipped) lockbutton
when thereisaclear viewofthe vehicle.
This isto prevent anybody frombeing
trapped insidethevehicle through the
Supper LockSystem activation.
Locking thedoors withtheremote controller, the
Intelligent Key (ifequipped) orthe key willlock all
doors including theback doorandactivate theSuper
Lock System.
This means thatnone ofthe doors canbeopened from
the inside inorder toprevent theft. The
system willbereleased whenthedoor isunlocked
with theremote controller, IntelligentKey (ifequipped)
or key .
The Super LockSystem willnot activate whenthe
doors arelocked withthepower doorlockswitch.
Emergency situations

If the Super LockSystem isactivated duetoatraffic
accident orother unexpected circumstances whileyou
are inthe vehicle:
. Place theignition switchinthe ªONº position, the
Super LockSystem willbereleased andallthe
doors canbeunlocked withthepower doorlock
switch. You can then open thedoors.
. Remove thekey from theignition switchand
unlock thedoor using theremote controller orthe
Intelligent Key (ifequipped) .The Super Lock
System willbereleased andyoucan open the
door.

from being opened accidentally ,especially whensmall
children areinthe vehicle.
When thelevers areinthe lock position

The remote keyless entrysystem canoperate alldoor
locks (including theback door) using theremote
controller. Theremote controller canoperate ata
distance ofapproximately 1m (3.3 ft)away fromthe
vehicle. Theoperating distancedepends uponthe
conditions aroundthevehicle.
As many as4remote controllers canbeused withone
vehicle. Forinformation aboutthepurchase anduseof
additional remotecontrollers, contactaNISSAN deal-
er.
The remote controller willnotfunction underthe
following conditions:
. When thedistance between theremote controller
and vehicle ismore thanapproximately 1m (3.3
ft) .
. When theremote controller batteryisdischarged.
. When thekey isin the ignition switch.
CAUTION:
. When locking thedoors usingtheremote
controller, besure nottoleave thekey inthe
vehicle.
. Donot allow theremote controller, which
contains electrical components, tocome
into contact withwater orsalt water. This
could affect thesystem function.
. Donot drop theremote controller.
. Donot strike theremote controller sharply
against another object.
. Donot place theremote controller foran
extended periodinan area where tempera-
tures exceed 608C(1408F) .
If aremote controller islost orstolen, NISSAN
recommends erasingtheIDcode ofthat remote
