The Voice Recognition systemallowshands-free
operation ofthe systems equipped onthis vehicle,
such asthe phone andnavigation systems.
T o operate theVoice Recognition system,pushthe
button located onthe steering wheel.When
prompted, speakthecommand forthe system you
wish toactivate. Thecommand givenispicked upby
the microphone andperformed whenitis properly
recognized. TheVoice Recognition willprovide avoice
response aswell asamessage inthe center display to
inform youofthe command results.

The system shouldrespond correctly toall voice
commands withoutdifficulty.If problems areencoun-
tered, follow thesolutions giveninthis guide forthe
appropriate error.Where thesolutions arelisted by
number, tryeach solution inturn, starting withnumber
one, untiltheproblem isresolved.
Symptom/error message Solution
The system failstorecognize the

Ensure thatthecommand formatisvalid. UsetheªList Commandsº or

2. Speak clearlywithout pausing between wordsandatalevel
appropriate tothe ambient noiselevel.
3. Ensure thattheambient noiselevelisnot excessive (forexample, with
the windows openorthe defogger turnedon).
NO TE:
If itis too noisy touse thephone, itis likely thatvoice
commands willnotberecognized.
4. Ifoptional wordsofthe command havebeen omitted, thenthe
