the back ofthe Intelligent Key .
T o install themechanical key,firmly insert itinto the
Intelligent Key until thelock knob returns tothe lock

trap theoccupants, sincetheSuper Lock
System prevents thedoors frombeing
opened fromtheinside ofthe vehicle.
. Only operate theremote controller orthe
Intelligent Key(ifequipped) lockbutton
when thereisaclear viewofthe vehicle.
This isto prevent anybody frombeing
trapped insidethevehicle through the
Supper LockSystem activation.
Locking thedoors withtheremote controller, the
Intelligent Key (ifequipped) orthe key willlock all
doors including theback doorandactivate theSuper
Lock System.
This means thatnone ofthe doors canbeopened from
the inside inorder toprevent theft. The
system willbereleased whenthedoor isunlocked
with theremote controller, IntelligentKey (ifequipped)
or key .
The Super LockSystem willnot activate whenthe
doors arelocked withthepower doorlockswitch.
Emergency situations

If the Super LockSystem isactivated duetoatraffic
accident orother unexpected circumstances whileyou
are inthe vehicle:
. Place theignition switchinthe ªONº position, the
Super LockSystem willbereleased andallthe
doors canbeunlocked withthepower doorlock
switch. You can then open thedoors.
. Remove thekey from theignition switchand
unlock thedoor using theremote controller orthe
Intelligent Key (ifequipped) .The Super Lock
System willbereleased andyoucan open the
door.

. Thescreen displayed onthe Around ViewMonitor
will automatically returntothe previous screen
when nooperation takesplace for3minutes after
the CAMERA button(models withnavigation
system)/DISP button(models withoutnavigation
system) hasbeen pushed whiletheshift lever isin
a position otherthantheªRº (Reverse) position.
. The display ofimages onthe screen maybe
delayed afterscreens areswitched. Objectsinthe
Around ViewMonitor maybedistorted momenta-
rily until theAround ViewMonitor screenis
displayed completely .
. When thetemperature isextremely highorlow ,
the screen maynotdisplay objects clearly.This is
not amalfunction.
. When strong lightdirectly shinesonthe camera,
objects maynotbedisplayed clearly.This isnot a
malfunction.
. Thescreen mayflicker underfluorescent light.This
is not amalfunction. .
Thecolors ofobjects onthe Around ViewMonitor
may differ somewhat fromthose ofthe actual
object.
. Objects onthe monitor maynotbeclear andthe
color ofthe object maydiffer inadark location or
at night. Thisisnot amalfunction.
. There maybedifferences inclearness between
each camera viewofthe bird's eyeview .
. Ifdirt, rainorsnow attaches tothe camera, the
Around ViewMonitor maynotdisplay objects
clearly .Clean thecamera.
. Donot use wax onthe camera window.Wipe off
any wax with aclean cloththathasbeen
dampened withamild detergent dilutedwith
water.

. When parking, setthe heater andaircondi-
tioner controls toturn offairrecirculation to
allow freshairinto thepassenger compart-
ment. Thisshould helpreduce odorsinside
the vehicle.

Whenever possible,parkyourvehicle insideagarage
or inacovered areatominimize thechances of
damaging thepaint surface ofyour vehicle.
When itis necessary topark outside, parkinashady
area orprotect thevehicle withabody cover. Be
careful nottoscratch thepaint surface when
putting onorremoving thebody cover.

In the following instances, washyourvehicle assoon
as possible toprotect thepaint surface:
. After arainfall, whichmaycause thepaint surface
damage fromacidrain.
. After driving oncoastal roads,whichmaycause
rusting fromthesea breeze.
. When contaminants suchassoot, birddroppings,
tree sap, metal particles orbugs getonthe paint
surface.
. When dustormud builds uponthe paint surface.
1. Wash thevehicle surface withawet sponge and
plenty ofwater.
2. Clean thevehicle surface gentlyandthoroughly
using amild soap, aspecial vehiclesoapora
general purpose dishwashing liquidmixed with
clean, lukewarm (neverhot)water.
CAUTION:
. Donot wash thevehicle withstrong house-
hold soap, strong chemical detergents, ga-
soline orsolvents.
. Donot wash thevehicle indirect sunlight or
while thevehicle bodyishot, asthe paint
surface maybecome water-spotted. .
Avoid usingtight-napped orrough cloths,
such aswashing mitts.Caremust betaken
when removing caked-ondirtorother for-
eign substances sothe paint surface isnot
scratched ordamaged.
3. Rinse thevehicle thoroughly withplenty ofclean
water.
4. Use adampened chamoistodry the paint surface
and avoid leaving waterspots.
When washing thevehicle, takecare ofthe following:
. Inside flanges, jointsandfolds onthe doors,
hatches andhood areparticularly vulnerabletothe
effects ofroad salt.Therefore, theseareasmust
be cleaned regularly.
. Besure thatthedrain holes inthe lower edgeof
the doors arenot clogged.
. Spray watertothe underbody andinthe wheel
wells toloosen thedirt and/or washawayroad
salt.
REMOVING SPOTS

Donot use acleaner thatuses strong acidor
alkali contents toclean thewheels.
. Donot apply wheel cleaners tothe wheels
when theyarehot. Thewheel temperature
should bethe same asambient temperature.

cleaner within15minutes afterthecleaner is
applied.

Use asoft cloth dampened onlywith water toclean the

. Small dirtparticles canbeabrasive and

removed promptly. Donot use saddle soap,

vehicle interior. Ifyou use anairfreshener, takethe
following precautions:
. Hanging-type airfresheners cancause permanent
discoloration whentheycontact vehicleinterior
surfaces. Placetheairfreshener inalocation that
allows itto hang freeandnotcontact aninterior
surface.
. Liquid-type airfresheners typicallycliponthe
vents. These products cancause immediate
damage anddiscoloration whenspilled oninterior
surfaces.
Carefully readandfollow themanufacturer's instruc-
tions before usingairfresheners.
