up using the ME NU 4 button, up to a
max imum of s ix s epa ra te pag es of
favourites.
To change the number of favourites pa ges ,
proceed a s follows;

The FAV 1, FAV 2, FAV 3, FAV 4, FAV 5
and FAV 6 labe ls appea r on the
display .

The Infotainm ent system c an play discs
containing both uncompressed CD audio
file s (w ith “. CDA” file exte nsion) and
compres s ed a udio file s (MP3 files ).
By d efault, the s ys tem reads and play s only
the uncompres s ed a udio file s and ignore s
the MP3 files .
To switch be twee n uncompres s ed a nd
compres s ed file s, procee d as follow s;
Press the CAT 9 cate gory button.
The Infotainment s yste m will only read
and p lay the previous ly ignored file s.MP3-CD m usic navig ator

CD m essage s
The me ss age ‘C HEC K DISC ’ a ppears on the
dis play if a problem occurs and the
CD playe r does not operate correctly .
If this mes s age appe ars or if the CD is
e je cted automatically, it could be for one of
the following rea sons:
– The CD is d irty , scratched, wet, or
up side down.
– The air is very humid.
If so, wait app rox . one hour and try
again.
– There ma y have been a prob lem while
burning the CD.
– The label may be caught in the
CD play er.
–It is very hot.
Whe n the te mperature returns to
normal, the CD should play.
– You are driving on a v ery rough road.
When the road surfa ce becomes
smoother, the C D should play .
If the CD is not playing corre ctly, for any
other reason, try a known good C D.
If any e rror occ urs repe ated ly or if an e rror
cannot be corre cted , we recom mend that
you consult a n Opel Service Partner.
If the radio displays an e rror m essag e,
write it down and provide it to your retaile r
when re porting the proble m.Usi ng the auxi liary input ja ck
Your Infotainment sy stem has an auxiliary
input jack b locate d on the lowe r right
side of the E ntertainment He ad Unit (E HU).
This is not an audio outp ut;

auxiliary input jack b.
You can howev er, connect an external
audio de vice such as a laptop compute r 3,
MP3 p layer 3, CD changer 3, or c assette
playe r 3, to the aux iliary input jack b for
us e as anothe r audio s ource .
To us e a portable audio playe r, connect a
3.5 m m phone p lug to the auxiliary inp ut
ja c k b.When a devic e is connected, to begin
play ing audio from the dev ice throug h the
vehicle’s spea kers, proceed as follows;

Press the CD / AUX a button.
Audio from the external audio device

FM reception
Des pite a high de gree of technical
pe rfe ction, re cep tion in v ehicle radio se ts is
different from that in home radio sets
a n d s o m e i nt e r f er en ce m a y o ccu r , e ven
with F M-RDS stations.
Tall buildings or hills can interfere w ith FM
s igna ls, causing s ound to fade in and out.
FM stereo w ill give the best sound,
but F M s ignals w ill re ach only a pprox.
16 to 65 km (10 to 40 miles).AM reception
The range for most AM stations is g re ater
than for F M, e spe cially at nig ht. The longer
ra ng e can cause sta tion freq uencies to
inte rfe re with each other. For be tter rad io
re ce ption, most AM radio s tations will
boos t the powe r le vels during the day, and
the n reduce these le ve ls d uring the night.
Static can a ls o occur whe n eve nts s uch as
storms interfe re with radio re cep tion. W he n
this happe ns, try red ucing the treble on
your Infotainment sy stem.Hand ling C Ds
Handle CDs ca re fully . Avoid le aving
fingerprints on the CDs whe n changing
t h em . R e p l a ce CD s i n t h ei r ca s es
imm ediate ly afte r removing the m, to stop
them from ge tting d amage d, dus ty and
dirty.
Dirt and liquids on CDs m ay ma ke the

s unlight.
The C D playe r s cans the bottom s urface of
the dis c. If the surface of a CD is da mage d,
e.g. cra cked, broken or scratched, the CD
will not play properly or not at all.
If the surface of a CD is s oiled, take a s oft,
lint-free cloth or dampen a clean, soft cloth
in a mild, ne utra l dete rgent solution mixe d
with wate r, and clean it. Make sure the
wiping p roce s s s tarts from the ce ntre ,
going out towards the e dge of the disc.
Do not touch the b ottom side of a CD while
handling it; this could dama ge the surface.
Pick up CDs b y grasping the outer edge s or
t h e edg e o f t h e ho l e a n d t h e ou t e r edg e.

Ca r radio rece ption diffe rs from domes tic
radio re ception:
As the ve hicle a nte nna is re lative ly near
the g round, the broadcasting companies
cannot guarantee the s ame quality of
rece ption as obtained w ith a dome stic
radio us ing an overhe ad antenna.
zChanges in dis tance from the
transmitter,

The O pel ins tallation ins tructions and
the ope ra ting guid elines provide d by the

when fitting and ope ra ting a mobile
telep hone. F ailure to do so could invalidate
the v ehicle’ s operating permit (EU Dire ctive
95/54/EG).
Pre requisites for fault-free ope ration:

to obtain the maximum rang e possib le,
zMax imum transm ission power 10 W atts,
zIns tallation of the tele phone in a suitable

Obtain advice on p redetermined

of using dev ices w ith transmis s ion power of
more than 10 Wa tts.Operation of a handsfree attachment with
no outside antenna, using the m obile
telephone standards GSM 900/1800/1900
and U MTS, m ay tak e plac e only if the
ma ximum trans miss ion power of the
mobile tele phone doe s not e xce ed 2 W, in
the case of GSM 900, and otherwise 1 W.
T h e op er a t i n g i n st r u ct i o n s o f t h e
