To unlock:
Turn ke y in drive r’ s door lock towards front
of vehicle as far as it will go. Turn ke y back
to a v ertical pos ition and remov e.
Both doors w ill be unlocke d.To l o c k :

of ve hicle as far as it will go. Turn key back
to a ve rtic al position and re move .

Re leas e the locking le ver locate d in the
ce ntre of the he ade r rail by pulling it down
and rotating it anti-clockwise. The
retaining hook will unhook . To avoid dam aging the s oft top or the
roof m echanism , the le ve r must re main in
the ope n position during the lowe ring
p r oc edu r e.F r o m t h e s i de o f t h e ve h i cl e, p u l l t he
s oft top away from the winds cree n frame
and fold it down into the luggage
compa rtm ent.

attem pting to engag e the locking lev er.Engage the lock ing leve r by rotating it
cloc kwise and pus hing it up. The retaining

Folding seat b ackrests
Lift release lev er on outboard side of
back rest and fold seat b ackrest forwards.
To move upright, lift rele as e le ver, move
s eat b ackres t bac kwards and audibly
e nga ge.
Three-stage restraint system

The thre e stag es are a ctivated in se quence
depending on the seriousness of the
accident:
zThe automa tic se at be lt locking de vices
pre vent the belt s trap from be ing pulle d
out and thus ensure that the v ehicle
occupants are re tained in the ir se ats .
zThe se at be lts are pulled down at the
be lt buckles . This mak es the b elts fit
snugly, the oc cup ants are decelerated
toge the r with the v ehicle, and the body
i s su b j e c t ed t o l es s st r e ss .
zThe airbag sy ste ms a re als o trigge red in
t h e ev en t o f s er i o u s a cci de n t s a n d f o r m a
s afety cushion for the occupants.
De pending on the se verity of the
accide nt, the airbags inflate
in two stages.9 Wa r nin g
The airbag sy ste ms are s upple mentary
to the three -point se at be lts and belt
tensioners, and the sea t belts must
the refore always be worn. Dis re garding
the se ins tructions may le ad to injuries or
endanger life. Vehicle passengers should
be informe d accordingly.

be lts are alway s a s nug fit.

Sea t be lts are only de s ig ne d for us e by one
pers on at a time . They are not s uitable for
pers ons y ounge r tha n 12 ye ars of age or
sma ller than 150 cm.Be lt forc e li mite rs
Belt force limiters on the seats reduce the
s tres s on the body due to controlle d re leas e
of the belt during a collis ion. This m eans
that the oc cup ants m ov e forward unde r
control.

After an accid ent, hav e belts and dep loy ed
be lt tens ione rs re place d by a works hop.
Do not pe rform any alte ra tions on the
be lts, the ir anchorages, the automatic
re trac tors or the belt buck le s.
Mak e s ure that b elts are not da mage d or
trappe d by s harp-e dge d objec ts.

IEngine oil pressure
Control indicator illum inate s in red.
Illuminates whe n the ignition is switched on
and goe s out s hortly after the engine has
started.
If it illuminates whe n the e ng ine is running:
Engine lubrication may b e interrupte d.
This m ay re sult in da mage to the e ng ine
and/ or lock ing of the drive whe els :
1. Move out of the flow of tra ffic as quickly
as pos s ible w ithout impe ding other
veh icles .
2 . De pres s clutch.
3. Shift into ne utral.
4 . Switch off ignition.Check engine oil level before consulting a
work shop.

Functions and settings can be a ccessed via
the d riv er information centre.
This is done using buttons S and T
located on the le ft side of the stee ring
w h ee l . T h e r e le va n t m e nu o p t i o n s a r e t he n
shown on the disp lay one after the other.
If che ck control warning me ss ages are
dis playe d, the disp la y is blocke d for othe r
func tions. Acknowled ge the message by
pre ssing button S or T. If there a re
s eve ral warning me ss age s, acknowled ge
them one at a time.
