Pull the wiper stalk towards you. The
windscreen wash, then the wind-
screen wipers, operate for a speci-
fi e d t i m e .

washers, this is indicated by an audi-
ble signal or a message on the multi-
function display.
This information is given each time
the front or rear wash-wipe control is
o p e r a t e d , u n t i l t h e r e s e r v o i r i s fi l l e d .
W h e n y o u s t o p , fi l l t h e w a s h - w i p e /
headlamp wash reservoir or have it
fi l l e d . Do not cover the rain sen-
sor located on the wind-
screen behind the interior
mirror.
When using an automatic car wash,
switch off the ignition.
In winter, it is advisable to wait for the
windscreen to completely clear of ice
before operating the automatic wipe.

When reverse gear is engaged, if the
windscreen wipers are in operation,

In
AUTO mode, the windscreen wip-
ers operate automatically and adapt
their speed to the intensity of the
rainfall .
Activation
Activation of the function is accom-
panied by a message on the multi-
function display.
T h e a u t o m a t i c w i n d s c r e e n w i p e r s
function must be reactivated if the
i g n i t i o n h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f f o r
m o r e t h a n o n e m i n u t e , b y p r e s s -
i n g t h e s t a l k d o w n w a r d s .
Deactivation
Deactivation of the function is ac-
companied by a message on the
multifunction display.
The function is deactivated when the
windscreen wipers stalk is moved to
position I , 1 or 2 .
In the event of malfunction of the
automatic windscreen wipers, the
windscreen wipers will operate in in-
termittent mode.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.

I f t h e r e i s a s i g n i fi c a n t a c -
cumulation of snow or ice
and when using a bicycle
carrier on the tailgate, deactivate the
automatic rear wiping by going to the
m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y c o n fi g u r a t i o n
menu.
Special position of the front
w i n d s c r e e n w i p e r
In the minute following switching off
of the ignition, any action on the stalk
positions the wipers in the centre of
the windscreen.
This action enables you to position
the wiper blades for winter parking,
cleaning or replacement (See corre-
sponding section).
To park the wipers after this has
been done, switch on the ignition and
operate the stalk.

CHECKING THE LEVELS
There are two marks on
the dipstick:
A = maximum
N e v e r fi l l p a s t t h i s m a r k .
B = minimum

Oil change
According to the information given in
the servicing booklet. Changing the brake fluid

wash level
For best quality cleaning and
for your safety, we would ad-
vise that you use products
recommended by PEUGEOT .
When the level is low, this is indicated
by an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction display.
Viscosity selection
In all cases, the oil selected must
meet the manufacturer’s require-
ments.
Cooling system
U s e t h e fl u i d r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
manufacturer.
When the engine is warm, the tem-
perature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can ope-
rate with the ignition key removed
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying out any work.
Slacken the cap by two turns to re-
lease the pressure to prevent any
risk of scalding. When the pressure
has dropped, remove the cap and
top up the level. Diesel additive level (Diesel
with particle emission filter)
Lighting of the service warning light,
accompanied by a message and an
audible signal, indicates that the die-
sel additive level is low.
This additive must be topped up.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.
To maintain the reliability of
engines and emission control
systems, the use of additives
in engine oil is prohibited. Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
with the skin.

Note: the coolant does not need to
be changed.
The level must always be
above the MIN mark and
close to the MAX mark. Do not dispose of used oil,
b r a k e fl u i d o r c o o l a n t i n t o
drains or into the ground.
Oil level
Check the level regularly and
top up between changes. The
maximum consumption is 0.5 l
per 600 miles (1 000 km).
Check the level with the ve-
hicle level, engine cold, using the oil
level gauge on the instrument panel
or the dipstick.

CHANGING A BULB 2 - Dipped beam headlamps/Main beam headlamps
(H4 - 60/55 W)
- Remove the plastic cover B .
- Disconnect the connector.
- Push the spring D towards the
right, as indicated on the head-
lamp.
- Remove and replace the bulb. 3 - Direction indicators
(PY 21 W amber)
- Turn the bulb holder C a quarter
of a turn and remove it.
- Turn the bulb a quarter of a turn.
- Remove the bulb and change it.
In certain weather conditions
(low temperatures, humid-
ity), the presence of con-
densation on the inside
of the headlamp glass is normal ;
it disappears a few minutes after the
lights have been switched on.
Front lights
1 - Side lights (W 5 W)
- Remove the plastic cover

- Remove the bulb holder.
- Remove the bulb and change it.

Only use H4 bulbs manufac-
tured by:
- GE/TUNGSRAM.
- PHILIPS,
- OSRAM,
to avoid damaging the headlamps.
Direction indicator side repeaters
(WY 5 W amber)
- Push the repeater cover for-wards and release it.
- Remove the repeater and change it.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to ob-
tain a new bulb. 4 - Front fog lamps (H1 - 55 W)
- O p e n t h e fl a p , l o c a t e d u n d e r t h e
mud guard, to gain access to the
screw.
- Remove the screw.
- Push the assembly outwards to extract it.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Turn the protective cover A a
quarter of a turn.
- Disconnect the connector B .
- Move aside the springs C .
- Remove the bulb and change it.
Amber coloured bulbs (di-
rection indicators and side
repeaters) must be replaced
b y b u l b s o f i d e n t i c a l s p e c i fi -
cation and colour.
These meet the anti-UV (ultra-violet)
s p e c i fi c a t i o n s n e c e s s a r y f o r t h e c o r -
rect operation and reliability of the
headlamps.
T h e h e a d l a m p s a r e fi t t e d w i t h a p o l y -
carbonate lens coated with a protec-
tive varnish. You are strongly advised
to avoid cleaning them using a dry or
abrasive cloth and using detergent
products or solvents.
Use a soft, damp cloth with soapy
water.

CHANGING A WINDSCREEN WIPER BLADE
Changing a front wiper blade
Lift the wiper arm.
Unclip the blade and remove it.
Fit the new blade.
Push back the wiper arm.
Note: t h e s h o r t e s t b l a d e i s fi t t e d o n
the right-hand wiper arm.
Changing the rear wiper blade
Lift the wiper arm.
Unclip the blade and remove it.
Fit the new blade.
Push back the wiper arm.
ECONOMY MODE FUNCTION
After the engine has stopped, certain
functions (doors, windscreen wipers,
electric windows, courtesy light, audio
equipment, dipped headlamps, etc.)
can only be used for a cumulative
duration of thirty minutes, to prevent
discharging of the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, a
message informing you of the switch
to economy mode appears on the
multifunction display and the active
functions are put on standby.
These functions are reactivated auto-
matically next time the vehicle is driven.
To resume the use of these functions
immediately, start the engine and let
it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then be
double the duration for which the en-
gine is left running. However, this pe-
r i o d w i l l a l w a y s b e b e t w e e n fi v e a n d
thirty minutes.
Note: if the telephone is being used
when economy mode starts, it will
s t i l l b e p o s s i b l e t o fi n i s h t h e c a l l .
A fl a t b a t t e r y w i l l p r e v e n t t h e
engine from starting.
FITTING/REMOVING THE MAT
When removing the mat on the driv-
er’s side, push the seat as far back
a s p o s s i b l e a n d r e m o v e t h e fi x i n g s .
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , p o s i t i o n t h e m a t c o r -
r e c t l y o n t h e p i n s a n d c l i p t h e fi x i n g s .
Check that the mat is secured cor-
rectly.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- o n l y u s e m a t s s u i t e d t o t h e fi x -ings already present in the ve-
hicle. It is imperative that these
fi x i n g s a r e u s e d .
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n - other.
Placing the wiper blades in the
special position
Less than a minute after switch-
ing off the ignition, operate the
wipers stalk to position the wiper
blades in the centre of the wind-
screen.
To return the windscreen wipers
to their normal position, switch on
the ignition and operate the wip-
ers stalk.
