In order to be programmed or
activated, the vehicle speed must
be above 25 mph (40 km/h), with
at least fourth gear engaged on the
manual gearbox (second gear for the

If "OIL" fl a s h e s a n d t h e s e r v i c e
warning light comes on, accompanied
by an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction display, this
indicates a lack of oil which could
damage the engine.
I f t h e l a c k o f o i l i s c o n fi r m e d b y a
check using the dipstick, it is essential
that the level is topped up.
E n g i n e o i l l e v e l i n d i c a t o r
When the ignition is switched on,
the engine oil level is indicated for
approximately 5 seconds after the
service indicator display.
O i l l e v e l g a u g e f a u l t
Check the oil level using the dip-
stick.
If " O I L - - " fl a s h e s , t h i s i n d i c a t e s a
malfunction of the engine oil level
gauge.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY
After switching on the ignition, three
functions are shown in succession:
- service indicator,
- engine oil level indicator
- total distance recorder (total and trip distances).
The level read on the dipstick
will only be correct if the ve-
hicle is on level ground and
the engine has been off for
more than 15 minutes.
O i l l e v e l c o r r e c t
N o t e : the trip distance is displayed
for thirty seconds, when the ignition
is switched off, on opening and
closing the driver’s door as well as
on locking the vehicle.
It also displays the "2 Tronic" gear-
box positions and operating modes
selected, as well as the information
relating to the cruise control or speed
limiter when one of these functions is
active.

CRUISE CONTROL
This cruise control, of the new gene-
ration, is linked with the speed limiter. It
has a display on the instrument panel
to indicate the memorised reference
speed.
It enables the vehicle to maintain a
steady speed programmed by the
driver.
The cruise control is switched on
manually: it requires a minimum
v e h i c l e s p e e d o f 2 5 m p h ( 4 0 k m / h )
and fourth gear must be engaged on
the manual gearbox.
The cruise control is switched off
by means of a manual action or by
pressing the brake or clutch pedal or
in the event of activation of the ESP.
By pressing the accelerator pedal, it is
possible to exceed the programmed
speed temporarily.
To return to the programmed speed,
simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition or turning
the dial cancels any programmed
speed value. Instrument panel display
The programmed information is grou-
ped together on the instrument panel
display.

Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding
of the programmed speed results in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d o n
the display.
Returning to the programmed speed,
by means of intentional or uninten-
tional deceleration of the vehicle,
c a n c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g a u t o m a t i c a l l y .
Using the accelerator:
exceed the memorised speed
until the required speed is
reached,
press button 2 or 3 .
Programming
Place switch 1 in the CRUISE
position. The cruise control is
not yet active and no speed has
been memorised. The display
indicates: Cancelling the cruise control
Switch the cruise control off by
pressing button 4 : the display
c o n fi r m s t h a t i t i s o f f ( O F F ) .
When changing the memo-
rised reference speed by
means of a maintained
press, pay attention as the
speed can increase or de-
crease rapidly.
Do not use the cruise control on slip-
p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .
In the event of a steep slope, the
cruise control cannot prevent the
vehicle from exceeding the pro-
grammed speed.
In any event, the cruise control
cannot replace the need to comply
with speed limits, nor can it replace
the need for vigilance and responsi-
bility on the part of the driver.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly.
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another.
It is advisable to keep your feet near
the pedals.
Set the programmed speed by
accelerating to the required
speed, then press button 2 or 3
( e . g . : 7 0 m p h ( 1 1 0 k m / h ) ) .
Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to position "0" : the
cruise control mode is dese-
lected. The display returns to the
distance recorder. Operating fault
If a cruise control malfunction occurs,
t h e s p e e d i s r e p l a c e d b y fl a s h i n g
dashes.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have
the system checked.
You can then change the programmed
speed using buttons 2 and 3 :
- b y + o r - 1 m p h ( 1 k m / h ) = s h o r t press,
- b y + o r - 5 m p h ( 5 k m / h ) = l o n g press,
- i n s t e p s o f + o r - 5 m p h ( 5 k m / h ) = maintained press. Reactivating the cruise control
Switch the cruise control back on
by pressing button 4 again.
