position
Push the backrest towards the rear
and engage it on mounting B .
T a k e c a r e n o t t o t r a p t h e s e a t b e l t s ,
i n p a r t i c u l a r b e t w e e n t h e s e a t b a c k
and the mounting B.
Check that the backrest has engaged
correctly. Rear head restraints *
The rear head restraints can be re-
moved and have two positions:
- high, position for use.
- low, storage position.
To raise the head restraint, pull it up-
wards.
To lower it, press lug
A then the head
restraint.
To remove it:
- tilt the seat back slightly,
- move the head restraint to the high position,
- press lug A pulling the head
restraint upwards at the same time.
T o r e fi t i t :
- tilt the seat back slightly,
- engage the rods of the head restraint in the openings.
To reach the low position, press lug A .
F o l d i n g t h e b a c k r e s t o f
the bench seat
The seat backrest is folded from
the rear of the vehicle, with the boot
open:
- check that the seat belt is
positioned correctly on the
side of the seat back to avoid
damaging it,
- place the head restraints in the low position (see "rear head
restraints"),
- while folding the seat backrest, pull the strap(s) A , located
behind the seat back.

KEYS/REMOTE CONTROL
Remote control
This carries out the vehicle locking -
unlocking and locating functions at a
distance.
Keys
The keys allow you to switch on the
ignition and operate the locks on the
front doors, the boot, the fuel tank
cap, the steering lock and the pas-
senger's airbag deactivation switch. Locking
Press button
A to lock the vehicle
f r o m a d i s t a n c e . T h i s i s c o n fi r m e d b y
brief lighting of the direction indica-
tors.
Central locking and unlocking
From the driver's door, the keys allow
you to lock and unlock the doors and
boot simultaneously. Unlocking
Press button
B to unlock the vehicle.

fl a s h e s o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s . Locating the vehicle
To locate your vehicle in a car park, if
you have locked it:
press button A , the direction indi-
c a t o r s c o m e o n b r i e fl y .
After locking, if you notice
that a door is not closed
properly, close it then lock
the vehicle again.
The set of keys or remote
controls, supplied with your
vehicle, enable you to ob-
tain a maximum of three new
keys.
If all of the keys in your possession
are lost, a major operation will have
to be carried out on your vehicle.

Locking/Unlocking the boot
using the remote control *
REAR WINDOWS (5-DOOR)
To partially open the rear windows,
pull the lever then push the window.
To close the window, pull then press
the lever to lock the window. * According to version.
The boot is locked/unlocked using
the buttons on the remote control.
Then, to open, press button
C and
raise the tailgate.
The boot can be locked/un-
locked using control A on the
driver's door.

2. Spare wheel/Additional storage compartments
Located under the carpet and a plas-
tic cover, this contains the tools for
wheel changing and towing.
There are two shelf storage options:
- either behind the rear seats,
- o r fl a t i n t h e b o o t .
1. Rear parcel shelf
To remove the shelf:
- u n h o o k t h e s h e l f f r o m i t s fi x i n g
A ,
- pull upwards on each side to de- t a c h i t f r o m i t s fi x i n g s ,
- raise then tilt the shelf slightly to remove it. In order to obtain additional
space, the spare wheel can
be removed temporarily
(boot tray available as an ac-
cessory).

Parking the vehicle
As far as possible, immobilise the
vehicle on level, stable, non-slip-
pery ground.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r
or reverse for the manual gear-
box, position N for the "2 Tronic"
gearbox. Tools
The following tools are installed in a
carrier, located in the centre of the
spare wheel:
1. Wheelbrace
2. Jack with handle
3. Removable towing eye
Access to the spare wheel and
the jack in the boot
Remove the carpet then the plastic
cover using the handle. Tyre pressures
These are indicated on the label po-
sitioned on the inner pillar of the left
d o o r , s e e " I d e n t i fi c a t i o n " .
CHANGING A WHEEL
If necessary, chock the wheel di-
agonally opposite the wheel to be
changed.
It is imperative that you ensure that
the occupants get out of the vehi-
cle and wait in a safe location.

CHANGING A BULB
1. Sidelamps (W5 W)
Turn the bulb holder A one quarter
of a turn and remove it.
Remove the bulb and change it.
2. Direction indicators (PY 21 W amber)
Turn the bulb holder B one quarter
of a turn and remove it.
Turn the bulb one quarter of a
turn.
Remove the bulb and change it.
I f y o u e n c o u n t e r a n y d i f fi c u l t i e s ,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a
q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
In certain climatic conditions
(low temperatures, humidity),
the presence of condensa-
tion on the internal face of
the headlamps is normal ; it disap-
pears a few minutes after the lights
are switched on.
Never go underneath a vehi-
cle supported only by a jack
(use an axle stand).
4. Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
5. Tighten the wheel bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .
6. R e fi t t h e t r i m .
7. Store the tools and the wheel in
the boot.
T h e j a c k a n d t h e t o o l k i t a r e s p e c i fi c
to your vehicle. Do not use them for
other purposes.
After changing a wheel:
- have the tighteness of the bolts and the pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible,
- have the punctured wheel re- p a i r e d a n d r e fi t i t o n t h e v e h i c l e
as soon as possible.

CHANGING A BULB
1. Sidelamps (W5 W)

Disconnect the connector.
Remove the rubber cap C .
Push the side of the tongue D .
Remove the bulb holder and
change the bulb.
R e fi t t h e b u l b h o l d e r , t h e t o n g u e
then the rubber cap.
I f y o u e n c o u n t e r a n y d i f fi c u l t i e s ,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a
q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .

right side These 3 bulbs are changed by re-
moving the lamp unit:
open the boot,

unclip the harness,
