BOOT
Locking/Unlocking the boot
using the remote control *
REAR WINDOWS (5-DOOR)
To partially open the rear windows,
pull the lever then push the window.
To close the window, pull then press
the lever to lock the window. * According to version.
The boot is locked/unlocked using
the buttons on the remote control.
Then, to open, press button
C and
raise the tailgate.
The boot can be locked/un-
locked using control A on the
driver's door.

FUEL TANK
O p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p .
Insert the key, turn it slightly to
the left then return to the right.
The key returns to its initial posi-
tion and the cap is unlocked.
Low fuel level
When the low fuel level is
r e a c h e d , t h e l a s t b a r fl a s h e s ,
accompanied by an audible
signal.
You have approximately
5 litres remaining.
In certain driving conditions and depend-
ing on the engine, the distance which
can be travelled with the fuel remaining
may be less than 30 miles (50 km).
W h e n t h e f r e q u e n c y o f t h e fl a s h i n g
increases, you have approximately
3 litres remaining .
Unscrew the cap and hook it onto
the clip located on the inside of
t h e fl a p .

fl a p r e m i n d s y o u w h i c h t y p e o f f u e l
to use.
W h e n y o u fi l l t h e f u e l t a n k , d o n o t
continue after the 3rd cut-off of the
pump. This could cause malfunc-
tions.
Remove the key.
If you run out of fuel, the
emission control system
warning lamp may come on
in the instrument panel. It will
go off automatically after the engine
has been started a few times.
T h e f u e l t a n k m u s t b e fi l l e d
with the engine switched
off .
The capacity of the fuel tank is ap-
proximately 35 litres.
A f t e r fi l l i n g t h e f u e l t a n k , s c r e w
the cap back on fully to the right
u n t i l i t c l i c k s a n d c l o s e t h e fl a p .

Deactivating the passenger
airbag
To ensure the safety of your child,
it is essential to deactivate the
passenger airbag when you install a "rear-facing" child seat on the
front passenger seat. Otherwise,
the child would risk being seri-
ously injured or killed if the airbag
w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
With the ignition switched off ,
insert the key into the passenger
airbag deactivation switch 1 ,
turn it to the "OFF" position,
then remove the key keeping the
switch in this position.
In the "OFF" position, the passen-
ger airbag will not be deployed in the
event of an impact.
As soon as the child seat is removed,
turn the airbag switch to the "ON"
position to re-activate the airbag and
thus ensure the safety of your pas-
senger in the event of an impact. If the passenger airbag is de-
activated, the warning lamp
in the instrument panel re-
mains on until the passenger
airbag is reactivated.
Flashing indicates a fault
with at least one of these
airbags.
Contact a PEUGEOT deal-

to have the system checked. The air-
bags may no longer be deployed in
the event of a serious impact.

LATERAL AIRBAGS * AND CURTAIN AIRBAGS *
The lateral airbags are built into the
front seat backs on the door side.
The deployment of these airbags re-
quires a serious side impact applied
in the side impact zone B , perpen-
dicular to the longitudinal centreline
of the vehicle, on a horizontal plane
and from the outside of the vehicle
towards the inside. The lateral airbag
i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n t h e f r o n t o c c u p a n t
of the vehicle and the door trim panel.
It therefore limits the risk of injury to
the chest.
The rear lateral airbags afford the
rear passengers the same protection
which the front lateral airbags offer
the front passengers.
The curtain airbags are built into the
headlining. T h e c u r t a i n a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n
the front or rear occupant and the
windows. It therefore limits the risk of
head injuries. In the event of a minor
impact or bump on the side of the ve-
hicle or if the vehicle rolls over, the
airbag may not be deployed. The air-
bag is not deployed in the event of a
front or rear collision.

CHECKS
CHECKING THE LEVELS
There are two marks
on the dipstick:
A = maximum

B = minimum
Never allow the level
to fall below this mark.
Dipstick
Oil change
According to the information given in
the servicing booklet. Changing the brake fluid
T h e b r a k e fl u i d m u s t b e c h a n g e d a t
the intervals stated, according to the
manufacturer's servicing schedule.

m a n u f a c t u r e r , w h i c h f u l fi l D O T 4 s t a n -

Windscreen wash level
For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we would advise that you
use products recommended by your
manufacturer.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a
q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p .
Oil viscosity grade
In all cases, the oil selected must meet
the manufacturer's requirements. Cooling system
Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
with the skin.
B r a k e fl u i d i s h a r m f u l t o h e a l t h a n d
very corrosive.
To maintain the reliability of
engines and emission control
systems, the use of additives
in engine oil is prohibited. S l a c k e n t h e c a p b y 1 / 4 o f a
turn to release the pressure
to prevent any risk of scald-
ing. When the pressure has
dropped, remove the cap and top up
the level. O n l y u s e t h e fl u i d r e c o m -
mended by the manufacturer.
Otherwise, you risk seriously
damaging your engine.
Do not dispose of used oil,
b r a k e fl u i d o r c o o l a n t i n t o
drains or into the ground.
Empty the used oil into the
containers provided for this
purpose in the PEUGEOT dealer
n e t w o r k o r a t a q u a l i fi e d w o r k s h o p
(France) or at an authorised waste
disposal site.
Oil level
Check the level regularly and top up
between changes. The maximum oil
consumption is 0.5 litre per 600 miles
(1 000 km).
Check the level with the vehicle level,
engine cold, using the dipstick.
When the engine is warm, the tem-
perature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can op-
erate with the ignition key removed
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying out any work.

rearwards and detach it by pull-
ing towards you.
Disconnect the bulb holder and
change it.

The fuseboxes are located under the
instrument panel trim and next to the
battery in the engine compartment.

Before changing a fuse, the cause of
the incident must be found and recti-
fi e d .
Use the tweezer A located in the
fusebox under the bonnet.

These are located on each side of
the instrument panel under the trim.
Turn the steering wheel to the
left, remove bolt B .
Turn the steering wheel to the
right (do not forget to release the
steering wheel using the key), re-
move bolt C .
Always replace a faulty fuse
with a fuse of the same rat-
ing (same colour).
