Practical information
System which manages the duration of use of certain functions to retain a sufficient level of charge in the battery.
After the engine has stopped, you can still use functions such as the audio and telematics
s
ystem, windscreen wipers, dipped beam headlamps, cour tesy lamps, etc. for a maximum combined duration of about thir ty minutes.








Electrical energy economy mode
Switching to economy mode
Once this time has elapsed, a message appears in the screen indicating that the vehiclehas switched to economy mode and the active
functions are put on standby.
If a telephone call is being made at this time, it
will be maintained for around 10 minutes with
the Bluetooth hands-free system of your audio
system.


Exiting economy mode

These functions are reactivated automatically
next time the vehicle is driven.) To restore these functions immediately,start the engine and let it run for at least five minutes.

A flat battery prevents the engine from starting (refer to the correspondingsection).









Load reduction mode

System which manages the use of cer tain
functions according to the level of charge
remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is bein
g driven, the load
reduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning,
the heated rear screen...
The deactivated functions are reactivated
automatically as soon as conditions permit.

Checks











Bonnet
)Open the left hand front door.


Before doing anything under the bonnet,switch off the Stop & Start system toavoid any risk of injury resulting from anautomatic change to STA R T m o d e .


Closing
)
Take the stay out of its suppor t slot. )
Clip the stay back into its housing. )
Lower the bonnet and release it at the endof its travel. )
Pull on the bonnet to check that it has
latched correctly.
)
Unclip the stay from its housing and place itin the suppor t slot to hold the bonnet open.

Do not open the bonnet under very windy conditions.When the engine is hot, handle the exterior safety catch and the stay with care (risk of burns).To avoid damaging electrical units,it is strictly forbiddento use a high pressure jet wash under the bonnet.

Checks
12 V battery


The battery does not require any maintenance.
However, check that the terminals are clean
and correctly tightened, particularly in summer and winter.
The presence of this label, in particular with
the Stop & Star t system, indicates the use of
a specific 12 V lead-acid battery with special
technology and specification. The involvement
of a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop is essential when replacing or disconnecting
the battery.
Particle emissions filter (Diesel)

The start of saturation of thepar ticle filter is indicated bythe fixed illumination of this warning lamp
accompanied by a warning message in the screen (if a display screen is fitted).
As soon as the traffic conditions permit,
regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of at
least 40 mph (60 km/h) until the warning lampgoes off.
If the warning lamp stays on, this indicates a
low additive level.

On a new vehicle, the first par ticlefilter regeneration operations may be accompanied by a "burnt" smell, whichis perfectly normal.
Following prolonged operation of the vehicle at very low speed or at idle, you may, in exceptional circumstances,notice the emission of water vapour at the exhaust on acceleration. This does not affect the behaviour of the vehicle or the environment. Unless other wise indicated, check these components in accordance with the ser vicin
g and warranty booklet and according to your engine. Other wise, have them checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Air filter and passenger compartment filter
Refer to the servicing and warranty
booklet for details of the replacement
inter vals for these components.
Oil filter
Replace the oil filter each time theengine oil is changed.
Refer to the ser vicing and warranty
booklet for details of the replacement
interval for this component. When carr
ying out work on the battery, refer
to the "12 V battery" section for details of theprecautions to be taken before disconnecting
the battery and following its reconnection. Dependin
g on the environment (e.g. dusty
atmosphere) and the use of the vehicle(e.g. city driving), replace them twice as oftenif necessary.y A clogged passenger compartment filter may
have an adverse effect on the performance
of the air conditioning system and generateundesirable odours.

Select "Navigation GPS

Select "Save
" to save the address entered as a contact entry.

USING THE TELEPHONE

to display the calls list.

sound cuts momentarily. Some telephones prioritise connection of the "hands-free" profi le. Delete the "hands-free" connection profi le to
improve streaming.

With the en
gine off, the
audio system switches off after a few minutes of use. When the en
gine is switched off, the audio system operating time

gine to increase the batterycharge.

ge "the audio system is overheated"
appears on the display. In order to protect the installation i
f the surrounding temperature is too
high, the audio system switches to an automatic thermal protection mode leading to a reduction of the volume or stopping of the playing of the CD.
Switch the audio system off for a few minutes to
allow the system to cool.
