Front and side air bags warning light The warning light comes on
for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. Switching on of this warning light, with the engine running, is accompanied byan audible signal and a message onthe multifunction display indicating afault in the air bags.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Seat belt not fastened warning light* When the ignition is switched
on, the warning light comes on when the driver has not fastened his seat belt. Engine autodiagnostics warning light This comes on each time the
ignition is switched on. If it comes on when the engine is run-ning, it indicates a malfunction in theinjection, ignition or emission control
system. There is a risk of damage to
your catalytic converter.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer rapidly.
Low fuel level warning light When the warning light first
comes on, you have enough fuel to drive at least 35 miles (50 km) (the tank capac-
ity is approximately 47 litres (10.3 gal-lons)).
Coolant temperature indicator light
Ð When the needle is in zone (A), the
temperature is correct.
Ð When the needle is in zone ( B), the
temperature is too high. The central
STOP warning light flashes.
You must stop immediately.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Dynamic stability control (ESP/ASR) warning light This comes on for a few seconds each time the igni-
tion is switched on. If the warning light remains on or comes on with the engine running, it isaccompanied by an audible signal andthe message "ESP/ASR not opera-
tional" on the multifunction display;
contact a PEUGEOT dealer. With the engine running and the vehi- cle moving, it flashes when the systemcomes into operation (if there is a dif-ference between the trajectory fol-lowed by the vehicle and that desiredby the driver). It comes on permanently when the system is disarmed.

Passenger air bag disarming indicatorlight*
Switching on of this indicator light is accompanied by an audible signal andthe message "Passenger air bag
disarmed" on the multifunction dis-
play. If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the indicator light switches on andremains on. In all cases, if the warning light flashes,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery charge warning light This can indicate any of the
following situations:
Ð faulty operation of the charging circuit,
Ð loose battery or starter terminals, Ð a cut or slack alternator belt,Ð an alternator fault.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

To access the fuse box located in the engine compartment (next to the bat-
tery), unclip the cover. After changing the fuse, close the
cover very carefully.
Your vehicle's electrical circuit is designed to ope-rate with standard oroptional equipment.
Before installing additional electri-cal equipment or accessories, con-
sult a PEUGEOT dealer. Some electrical accessories, or the way in which they are fitted,may adversely affect the operationof your vehicle (the electronic con-trol circuits, the radio circuit andthe electrical charging circuit).
PEUGEOT does not accept anyresponsibility for expenses incurredby repairs or for any faults resultingfrom the installation of additionalaccessories which are not suppliedor recommended by PEUGEOT andwhich were not installed in accor-dance with the manufacturer'sinstructions, in particular equipmentwith a consumption greater than
10 milliamps.
* The maxi fuses provide additional protection for the electrical systems. Any work must be carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer.

BATTERY
To charge the battery using a battery charger:
Ð Disconnect the battery,
Ð Follow the instructions for use given by the battery charger manufacturer,
Ð Reconnect starting with the negative (Ð) terminal,
Ð Check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are covered with sul-
phate (white or greenish deposit), disconnect them and clean them.
To start the vehicle from another battery:
Ð Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminals of the two batteries,
Ð Connect one end of the green or black cable to the negative (Ð) terminal of the slave battery,
Ð Connect the other end of the green or black cable to an earth point on the bro- ken down vehicle as far as possible from the battery,
Operate the starter, let the engine run.
Wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables. ECONOMY MODE FUNCTION After the engine has stopped, with the key in the accessories position, cer-
tain functions (windscreen wiper, elec-tric windows, courtesy lights, audioequipment etc.) can only be used forthirty minutes, to prevent discharging
the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, the message
"Economy mode active"
appears on the multifunction displayand the active functions are put on
standby.
A flat battery will prevent the engine from starting.
Ð Never disconnect a terminal when the engine is running.
Ð Never charge a battery without first disconnecting the terminals.
Ð After every reconnection of the battery, switch on the ignition and wait
1 minute before starting to allow the electronic systems to be ini- tialised. If slight difficulties are experienced after this, please contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.
It is advisable to disconnect the battery if the vehicle is not
to be used for a period of more than one month.
