KEYS
Central locking and unlocking
From the front doors, the keys allow you
to lock and unlock the doors and boot.
If one of the doors is open, the central
locking does not work.
If the boot is open, the central locking
works.
Remote control
This carries out the same functions as
the key, from a distance. Locking

Make a careful note of the number of each key. This number is coded on the
label attached to the key.
Remote control
The high frequency remote control is a sensitive system; do not o perate
it while it is in your pocket as there is a possibility that i t may unlock the
vehicle, without you being aware of it.
Do not repeatedly press the buttons of your remote control out of range and
out of sight of your vehicle. You run the risk of stopping it from working and
the remote control would have to be reprogrammed.
The remote control does not operate when the key is in the ignition, even
w h e n t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o f f , e x c e p t f o r r e i n i t i a l i s a t i o n . Do not throw the remote control bat-
teries away, they contain metals which
are harmful to the environment.
Take them to an approved collection
point.
Locking the vehicle
Driving with the doors locked may make access to t he passenger compartment
b y t h e e m e r g e n c y s e r v i c e s m o r e d i f fi c u l t i n a n e m e r g e n c y .
As a safety precaution (with children on board), remove the key fro m the
ignition when you leave the vehicle, even for a short time.
Anti-theft protection
D o n o t m a k e a n y m o d i fi c a t i o n s t o t h e e l e c t r o n i c e n g i n e i m m o b i l i s e r s y s t e m ,
this could cause malfunctions.
When purchasing a second-hand vehicle
Have the key codes memorised by a PEUGEOT dealer, to ensure that the
keys in your possession are the only ones which can start the vehicle .

Programming
Turn dial 1 to the "CRUISE" po-
sition: the cruise control mode is
selected but is not switched on
(OFF).
Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding of the programmed
s p e e d r e s u l t s i n fl a s h i n g o f t h i s s p e e d o n t h e d i s p l a y .
Return to the programmed speed, by means of intentional or
unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automatically ca n-
c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e s p e e d .
Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to the "0" position: the cruise control mode is
deselected. The display returns to the distance rec order.
Set the programmed speed by
accelerating to the required
speed, then press button 2 or 3
(e.g.: 70 mph (110 km/h)).
Switch off the cruise control by pressing button 4 : the
d i s p l a y c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( O F F ) .
Switch the cruise control back on by pressing button 4
again.
You can then change the programmed speed using but
tons 2
and 3 :
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = short press,
- by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press,
- in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press. Operating fault
In the event of a cruise control malfunc-
tion, the speed is cleared resulting in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e d a s h e s .
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
When the cruise control is switched
on, be careful if you maintain the
pressure on one of the programmed
speed changing buttons: this may
result in a very rapid change in the
speed of your vehicle.
Do not use the cruise control on
s l i p p e r y r o a d s o r i n h e a v y t r a f fi c .
On a steep descent, the cruise
control will not be able to prevent
the vehicle from exceeding the pro-
grammed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the
pedals:
- ensure that the mat is posi-tioned correctly,
- n e v e r fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n o - ther.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS
On/off
With the ignition key in
the accessories position
or with the ignition on,
press button A to switch

Anti-theft system
T h e a u d i o e q u i p m e n t i s c o d e d i n s u c h
a way that it can only operate in your
v e h i c l e . I t w o u l d n o t w o r k i f fi t t e d i n a n -
other vehicle.
The anti-theft system is automatic
and requires no action on your part.
Press button C to increase the audio
e q u i p m e n t v o l u m e o r b u t t o n B to de-
crease it.
A continuous press of buttons B and C
adjusts the volume gradually.
AUDIO SETTINGS
Press button G several
times in succession to
access the bass (BASS) ,
treble (TREB) , loudness
(LOUD) , fader (FAD) ,
balance (BAL) and auto-
matic volume correction
settings.
Exit from audio mode is automatic after
a few seconds without any action or by
pressing button G f o l l o w i n g c o n fi g u r a -
tion of the automatic volume correction. Adjusting the bass
When "BASS" is dis-
played, press button H or
I to change the setting.
- "BASS -9" for a min-
imum bass setting,
- "BASS 0" for a stan-
dard setting,
- "BASS +9" for a maximum bass
setting.
Adjusting the treble
When "TREB" is displayed, press but-
ton H or I to change the setting.
- "TREB -9" for a minimum treble set-
ting,
- "TREB 0" for a standard setting,
- "TREB +9" for a maximum treble
setting.
Adjusting the loudness (LOUD)
This function automatically emphasises
bass and treble tones.
Press button H or I to switch the func-
tion on or off.
Note: bass, treble and loudness settings
a r e s p e c i fi c t o e a c h s o u r c e . T h e y c a n b e
set differently for the radio or CD.
The audio equipment can operate for
30 minutes without the ignition being
switched on.

Automatic station search
Press button J or L b r i e fl y t o l i s t e n t o
the station immediately above or below.
By continuing to press the button in the
direction selected, you will obtain con-
t i n u o u s s c r o l l i n g o f t h e f r e q u e n c i e s .
T h e s c r o l l i n g s t o p s a t t h e fi r s t s t a t i o n
found when the button is released.
If the TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o g r a m m e
is selected, only stations broadcasting
this type of programme are selected.
S e a r c h i n g f o r a s t a t i o n t a k e s p l a c e fi r s t
in "LO" sensitivity (selection of the most
powerful transmitters) during scanning
of the waveband, then in "DX" sensitiv-
ity (selection of the weakest and most
distant transmitters).
To carry out a "DX" sensitivity search
directly, press button J or L twice. Manual station search
Press the
"MAN" button.
Press button J or L b r i e fl y t o i n c r e a s e o r
d e c r e a s e t h e f r e q u e n c y d i s p l a y e d .
By continuing to press the button in the
direction selected, you will obtain con-
t i n u o u s s c r o l l i n g o f t h e f r e q u e n c y .
The scrolling stops as soon as the but-
ton is released.
Pressing the "MAN" button again re-
turns you to the automatic station
search.
Manual storing of stations
S e l e c t t h e s t a t i o n r e q u i r e d .
Press one of the buttons "1" to "6" for
more than two seconds.
The sound stops then becomes audible
a g a i n , c o n fi r m i n g t h a t t h e s t a t i o n h a s
been stored. Automatic storing of FM stations
(autostore)
Press button O for more
than two seconds.
Recalling stored stations
On each waveband, press one of the
buttons "1" to "6" b r i e fl y t o r e c a l l t h e
corresponding stored station.
Your radio automatically stores the 6 sta-
tions with the strongest signal on
FM .
These stations are stored on the FMast
waveband.
I f i t i s n o t p o s s i b l e t o fi n d s i x s t a t i o n s , t h e
unused memories remain unchanged.

RDS *
Using the RDS on FM
The RDS (Radio Data System) allows
you to continue listening to the same
s t a t i o n , w h a t e v e r f r e q u e n c y i t i s u s i n g
in the region you are travelling through. Press the "RDS" button
b r i e fl y t o s w i t c h t h e f u n c -
tion on or off.
The multifunction screen will indicate:
- "RDS" if the function is selected,
- "(RDS)" if the function is selected
but not available.
RDS station following
The display indicates the name of the sta-
tion selected. When the RDS is selected,
the radio searches continuously for the
transmitter which is broadcasting the se-
lected station with the best reception.
T r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o g r a m m e ( T A ) Regional following mode (REG)
When they are part of a network, cer-
tain stations broadcast regional pro-
grammes in the various areas they
serve. The regional following mode
allows you to continue listening to the
same programme.
To do this, press the
"RDS" button for
more than two seconds to switch the
function on or off.
A n y t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n a n n o u n c e m e n t
will be given priority, whatever source
you are listening to (radio, CD).
If you wish to interrupt a message,
press the
"TA" button; this switches the
function off.
N o t e : t h e v o l u m e o f t h e t r a f fi c i n f o r -
mation is independent of the volume
of normal radio listening. You can
adjust it using the volume button.
The setting will be stored and will be
used for subsequent messages.
Search by type of programme (PTY)
This allows you to listen to stations broad-
c a s t i n g a s p e c i fi c t y p e o f p r o g r a m m e
(News, Culture, Sport, Rock...). When FM is selected,
press the "TA" button for
more than two seconds
to switch the function on
or off. To search for a
PTY programme:
- select the PTY function,
- press button J or L b r i e fl y t o s c r o l l
down the list of the different types of
programme offered,
- when the programme of your choice is displayed, press button J or L for
more than two seconds to carry out
an automatic search (following an
automatic search, the PTY function
is switched off).
In PTY mode, the types of programme
can be stored. To do this, press the pre-
selection buttons "1" to "6" for more
than two seconds. Press the corre-
s p o n d i n g b u t t o n b r i e fl y t o r e c a l l t h e t y p e
of programme stored.
EON system
This system connects stations which
are part of the same network. It permits
the broadcasting of TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a -
tion or of a PTY programme broadcast
by a station which is part of the same
network as the station to which you are
listening.
This service is available when you have
selected the TA t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n p r o -
gramme or the PTY search by type of
programme.
Press the
"TA" button to
switch the function on or
off.
The multifunction screen will indicate:
- "TA" if the function is selected,
- "(TA)" if the function is selected but
not available.
