FAMILIARISATION6 -
KEYS
The keys allow you to independently
operate the locks on the front doors,
the boot, the passenger air bag dis-
a r m i n g s w i t c h , t h e f u e l fi l l e r c a p , a n d
the steering lock and to switch on the
ignition.
STARTING
The 4 positions of the key in the
ignition:
1. STOP position:
the ignition is off.
2.
1st notch, Accessories position:
the ignition is off but the acces-
sories can be used.
3. 2nd notch, Running position:
the ignition is on.
4. Starting position:
operates the starter.
Remote control
Pressing button
A remotely locks the
vehicle.
T h i s i s c o n fi r m e d b y fi x e d l i g h t i n g o f
the direction indicators for approxi-
mately two seconds.
Pressing button B remotely unlocks
the vehicle.

Central locking and unlocking
From the driver's door, you can lock
and unlock the doors and the boot. If
one of the doors or the boot is open,
the central locking does not work. Leaving the ignition key in
If you leave the key in the ignition,
a buzzer reminds you of this when
opening the driver's door.
Locating the vehicle
To locate your vehicle, when you
have left it locked in a car park:
press button A , the courtesy
lights will come on and the
i n d i c a t o r l i g h t s fl a s h f o r a f e w
seconds. Steering lock
Before starting, unlock the steering
if necessary, by gently turning the
steering wheel at the same time as
you turn the key.
It is advisable to press the clutch
pedal while operating the starter, to
make starting easier.

- slack battery or starter terminals,

This comes on for a few seconds
each time the ignition is switched

this indicates incorrect operation of
the injection, ignition or emission
c o n t r o l s y s t e m .
I f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t fl a s h e s , t h e r e
is a risk of damage to the catalytic
c o n v e r t e r o n p e t r o l e n g i n e s .

Seat belt not fastened

When the ignition is switched
on, this indicator light comes on if the
d r i v e r h a s n o t f a s t e n e d h i s s e a t b e l t .
Above 12 mph (20 km/h), the warning
l i g h t fl a s h e s f o r a b o u t t w o m i n u t e s
accompanied by an increasingly
a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e o n t h e
m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y . T h i s w a r n i n g
l i g h t r e m a i n s l i t u n t i l t h e d r i v e r " s s e a t
b e l t i s f a s t e n e d .

Passenger air bag

Ejection of a disc Selecting a track

When the CD player is selected,
press and hold button Q for two sec-
onds. The tracks will be played in
random sequence. Pressing the but-
ton again for two seconds returns
you to normal play.
S h u f fl e m o d e i s d e - a c t i v a t e d e a c h
time the set is switched off.
After insertion of a
disc, printed face
upwards, the player
starts automatically.
If a disc is already inserted, press
button Q .
COMPACT DISC
Press button L to select the next
track.
Press button N to return to the start
of the current track or to select the
previous track.
The use of copied com-
pact discs may cause
faults.
Insert circular compact
discs only.
Press button
S to
eject the disc from the
player. Accelerated play
Press and hold button
L or N for
forwards or backwards accelerated
play.
Accelerated play stops as soon as

to select the corresponding disc. Accelerated play
