DEADLOCKING
Deadlocking the doors is an addition-
al security device. When it is used it
means that the interior and exterior
door locking controls cannot open
the doors.
There are two methods of
operation:
- w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n k e y , u s i n g t h e
d r i v e r ’ s d o o r l o c k ;
- w i t h t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l , w h i c h h a s t w o b u t t o n s :
A. Deadlocking/locking of the
doors and tailgate.
B. Unlocking. Using the key
To deadlock,
t u r n t h e k e y t o w a r d s
the rear of the vehicle.
To lock, w i t h i n 5 s e c o n d s o f d e a d -
l o c k i n g , t u r n t h e k e y o n c e m o r e
t o w a r d s t h e r e a r o f t h e v e h i c l e .
To unlock, t u r n t h e k e y t o w a r d s t h e
front of the vehicle.
Using the remote control
To deadlock
Press once on button A to deadlock
the vehicle.
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y i x e d l i g h t i n g o f
the direction indicators for approxi-
m a t e l y t w o s e c o n d s .
A second press on button A w i t h i n
i v e s e c o n d s o f d e a d l o c k i n g c h a n g e s
this to normal locking.

the direction indicates for approxi-
m a t e l y t w o s e c o n d s .
To unlock
Press once on button B to unlock the
vehicle.
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y r a p i d l a s h i n g o f
the direction indicators.
After deadlocking the ve-
h i c l e , t h e d o o r s c a n b e
unlocked only from the out-
side of the vehicle: if any-
o n e i s i n s i d e t h e v e h i c l e ,
unlocking is impossible from inside.
If the battery has been discon-
nected:
- The deadlocking remains ac- tive.
- It is possible to open one of t h e f r o n t d o o r s w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n
k e y , b u t t h e k e y o n l y o p e n s
the corresponding door.
It is dangerous to operate the
deadlocking if there is someone
inside the vehicle.
Keep your key number in a safe
p l a c e . I n t h e c a s e o f l o s s o r t h e f t ,
t h i s w i l l e n a b l e y o u t o o b t a i n a
n e w k e y .
Check that the batteries are still
charged.

ALARM
Setting and deactivating the
alarm system
Switching off the siren.
The alarm completes the security
equipment for your vehicle. It offers
t w o t y p e s o f p r o t e c t i o n .
- external p r o t e c t i o n : w h e n i t i s
s e t , t h e a l a r m s o u n d s if one of
the doors, the boot or the bon-
net is opened;
- internal p r o t e c t i o n : w h e n i t i s s e t ,
the alarm sounds if the sensors
detect air movement in the pas-
senger compartment (a broken
window), or movement within
the car.
The alarm also has an anti-tamper
function.
I f t h e r e i s a n a t t e m p t t o t a m p e r w i t h
t h e w i r e s t o t h e s i r e n , c o n t r o l u n i t o r
t h e b a t t e r y , t h e s i r e n s o u n d s a n d t h e
direction indicators light. Setting the alarm (external and
internal protection)
Switch the ignition off and get out
of the vehicle.
Deadlock the vehicle.
The doors lock.
The direction indicators light for
t w o s e c o n d s .

once a second.
5 s e c o n d s l a t e r , i n t e r n a l p r o t e c t i o n i s
set.
4 5 s e c o n d s l a t e r , e x t e r n a l p r o t e c t i o n
is set.
Note:
w h e n t h e a l a r m i s t r i g g e r e d ,
the siren sounds for thirty seconds.
A f t e r t h e t h i r t y s e c o n d s i t s t o p s , b u t
the alarm remains set.
When the alarm is trig-
g e r e d , i f a d o o r , t h e t a i l -
gate or bonnet is not
c l o s e d c o r r e c t l y , t h e s i r e n
sounds for a moment. If
the vehicle is closed correctly in the
f o l l o w i n g 4 5 s e c o n d s , t h e a l a r m i s
activated and the direction indica-
t o r s r e m a i n o n f o r t w o s e c o n d s . I n
a l l c a s e s , t h e a l a r m i s a c t i v a t e d a f -
ter 45 seconds.
Disarming the alarm
(external and internal protection)
Press the unlocking button of the
remote control key.
The doors unlock.
T h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a t o r s l a s h f o r
t w o s e c o n d s .
T h e r e d l i g h t o n t h e s w i t c h g o e s o u t .
Note: i f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t c o n t i n u e s t o
l a s h a f t e r d e - a c t i v a t i o n o f t h e a l a r m ,
it is a sign that the alarm has been
t r i g g e r e d . T h e l a s h i n g w i l l s t o p w h e n
t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n .

OPENING THE BONNET
Inside the vehicle: pull the handle on
t h e l e f t - h a n d s i d e , u n d e r t h e f a s c i a .
Outside the vehicle: lift the catch
and raise the bonnet.
BONNET STRUTSecure the strut to hold the bonnet
open.
B e f o r e c l o s i n g t h e b o n n e t , r e p l a c e
the strut in its housing.
FILLING THE FUEL TANK
T h e t a n k m u s t b e i l l e d w i t h f u e l w i t h
the engine switched off .
Insert the key then turn it to the left.
Remove the cap.
A l a b e l i n d i c a t e s w h i c h t y p e o f f u e l t o
use.
I f y o u i l l y o u r t a n k , d o n o t c o n t i n u e
after the third cut-off of the pump
nozzle. This could result in vehicle
malfunctions.
The capacity of the tank is approxi-
mately 50 litres.
To close
L o w e r t h e b o n n e t a n d r e l e a s e i t a t
the end of its travel.
Check that the bonnet is locked.

b o l t , l o c a t e d inside the boot
under the carpet .
- Lift the carrier to release the h o o k r e a r w a r d s , t h e n l o w e r i t .
- Remove the jack storage box 2
l o c a t e d i n t h e s p a r e w h e e l .
CHANGING A WHEEL
Removing a wheel
- C h o c k t h e r e a r o f t h e w h e e l d i a g o n a l l y o p p o s i t e t h e w h e e l
t o b e c h a n g e d , u s i n g t h e j a c k
storage box.
- R e m o v e t h e w h e e l t r i m u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e , b y p u l l i n g a t t h e
valve passage hole.
- S l a c k e n t h e w h e e l b o l t s .
- Place the jack under the locating point on the sub-frame E that
i s c l o s e s t t o t h e w h e e l t o b e
changed. Ensure that the entire
surface of the jack base plate is
i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d .
- E x t e n d t h e j a c k , c o m p l e t e l y u n s c r e w t h e b o l t s a n d r e m o v e
t h e w h e e l .
Parking the vehicle
- I f p o s s i b l e , p a r k t h e v e h i c l e o n
l e v e l , s t a b l e a n d n o n - s l i p p e r y
ground.
- A p p l y t h e h a n d b r a k e , e n g a g e i r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r ( p o s i t i o n P
for the automatic gearbox).

F Disconnect the connector(s) C.
F Press the end of the securing

Fitting/removing the mat
When removing the mat on the driver’s
s i d e , p u s h t h e s e a t a s f a r b a c k a s p o s -
s i b l e a n d r e m o v e t h e i x i n g s .
W h e n r e i t t i n g , p o s i t i o n t h e m a t c o r r e c t -
l y o n t h e p i n a n d c l i p t h e i x i n g s . C h e c k
that the mat is secured correctly.
To prevent the mat from becoming
caught under the pedals:
- only use mats suited to the i x i n g s a l r e a d y p r e s e n t i n t h e
vehicle. It is imperative that
t h e s e i x i n g s a r e u s e d .
- n e v e r i t o n e m a t o n t o p o f another. - Clean off bird drop-
p i n g s , r e s i n o u s d e p o s -
i t s , t a r s t a i n s a n d g r e a s e
marks as soon as pos-

vehicle (painted bumpers or head-

direct the high pressure jet onto
them. Wash these areas by hand.

the locks.
