TYRE UNDER-INFLATION
DETECTION
System which automatically checks the
pressure of the tyres while driving. All repairs and changing of tyres on
a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h t h i s s y s t e m m u s t
be carried out by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
If, when changing a tyre, you in-
stall a wheel which is not detected
b y y o u r v e h i c l e ( e x a m p l e : fi t t i n g
of snow tyres), you must have the
system reinitialised by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
This system does not eliminate
the need to have the tyre pres-
sure checked regularly (refer to
the "Technical information - Identi-
fi c a t i o n m a r k i n g s " p a g e ) t o e n s u r e
that the optimum dynamic perfor-
mance of the vehicle is maintained
and prevent premature wear of the
tyres, particularly in arduous driv-
ing conditions (heavy load, high
speed).
The tyre pressures must be checked
cold, at least once a month. Re-
member to check the pressure of
the spare wheel.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system may experience temporary
interference due to electro-magnetic
signals on a frequency close to that
used by the system.
S e n s o r s fi t t e d i n e a c h v a l v e t r i g g e r a w a r n -
ing in the event of malfunction. The speed
has to be above 12 mph (20 km/h).
A message appears on the multifunc-
tion screen, accompanied by an audible
signal, to locate the wheel concerned.
Check the tyre pressures as soon
as possible.
This check must be carried out when
the tyres are cold.
Flat tyre This warning lamp and the
STOP
warning lamp come on on the in-
strument panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message
on the multifunction screen locat-
ing the wheel concerned.
Stop immediately, avoiding any sud-
den movement of the steering wheel
and the brakes.
Change the damaged wheel (punc-
t u r e d o r v e r y d e fl a t e d t y r e ) , a n d
have the tyre pressure checked as
soon as possible.
Puncture
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system is an aid to driving which
does not replace the need for the
driver to be vigilant or to drive re-
sponsibly. Sensor(s) not detected or faulty
A message appears on the multifunc-
tion screen, accompanied by an audible
signal, to locate the wheel or wheels
which are not detected or to indicate a
fault in the system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to replace
the faulty sensor(s).
This message is also displayed
when one of the wheels is away
from the vehicle (being repaired) or
when one or more wheels without a
s e n s o r a r e fi t t e d .

CHANGING A WHEEL *
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
Access to the tools
T h e t o o l s a r e i n s t a l l e d i n a b o x a t t h e
bottom of the boot under the spare
wheel.
For access to them, refer to the para-
graph "Access to the spare wheel" on
the following page. List of tools
1. Wheelbrace.
For removal of the wheel trim and r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g b o l t s .
2. Jack with integral handle.
For raising the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
For removal of the bolt protectors ( c o v e r s ) o n a l l o y w h e e l s .
4. Socket for the security bolts
( l o c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
For adaptation of the wheelbrace to the special "security" bolts.
5. Removable towing eye.
Refer to the paragraph "Towing the vehicle".
A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.
Other accessories
Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel ,
d e t a c h t h e t r i m fi r s t u s i n g t h e
wheelbrace 1 pulling at the valve
passage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , re-
fi t t h e t r i m s t a r t i n g b y p l a c i n g i t s
notch facing the valve and press
around its edge with the palm of
your hand.

Access to the spare wheel
The "space-saver" spare wheel is in-
s t a l l e d i n t h e b o o t u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
place the vehicle in the "coupé"
c o n fi g u r a t i o n ,
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r .
Fixing the "space-saver" spare
wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t
the washers do not come into con-
tact with the "space-saver" spare
wheel. The wheel is secured by the
conical contact of each bolt.
Taking out the wheel
Slacken and remove the retaining
strap.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the spare wheel back in its housing.
Put the retaining strap back in place
and tighten it.

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : i f p o s s i b l e ,
park the vehicle on level, stable
and non-slippery ground.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r *
to lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
It is imperative that you ensure that
the occupants get out of the vehicle
and wait in a safe location.
Never go underneath a vehicle
r a i s e d u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e
stand.
Removing a wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
If your vehicle is equipped with
t h i s , fi t t h e s e c u r i t y s o c k e t 4 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
bolt.
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underframe, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
p u n c t u r e d ) w h e e l e a s i l y .
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.

After changing a wheel
U s i n g t h e " s p a c e - s a v e r " s p a r e w h e e l :

d o n o t e x c e e d a s p e e d o f
5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts and
the pressure of the spare wheel
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer
without delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as
soon as possible.
Fitting a wheel
List of operations
Put the wheel in place on the hub.
Screw in the bolts by hand.
Pre-tighten the security bolt us-
ing the wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e
security socket 4 (if your vehicle is
e q u i p p e d w i t h t h i s ) .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
Tighten the security bolt using the
wheelbrace 1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e s e c u r i t y
socket 4 (if your vehicle is equipped
w i t h t h i s ) .
Tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
R e fi t t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r s o n
each of the bolts.
S t o r e t h e t o o l s i n t h e b o x a t t h e b o t -
tom of the boot.
Store the punctured wheel in a cor-
ner of the boot.
