Dynamic stability control (ESP).
The ESP system is activated
a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n t h e v e h i c l e
is started.
U n l e s s t h e s y s t e m h a s b e e n d e a c t i v a t -
e d , c o n t i n u o u s l i g h t i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g
l i g h t a n d l a s h i n g o f t h e i n d i c a t o r l i g h t
on the button indicate the occurrence of
a fault in this system.
Engine autodiagnostics
system.
T h e l i g h t i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
indicates the occurrence of a
fault in the engine management system.
F l a s h i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t i n d i c a t e s
the occurrence of a fault in the emission
control system.
Engine oil pressure.
T h e l i g h t i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
indicates the occurrence of a
fault in the engine lubrication
c i r c u i t . I t i s i m p e r a t i v e t h a t t h e v e h i c l e i s
s t o p p e d a s s o o n a s i t i s s a f e t o d o s o . Battery charge.
T h e l i g h t i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
indicates the occurrence of a
f a u l t i n t h e b a t t e r y c h a r g i n g c i r -
cuit (dirty or loose terminals, slack or
cut alternator belt, ...).
Braking.
T h e l i g h t i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
indicates the occurrence of a fault
i n o n e o f t h e b r a k i n g s y s t e m s :
- s i g n i i c a n t d r o p i n t h e l e v e l i n t h e c i r - cuit,
- e l e c t r o n i c b r a k e f o r c e d i s t r i b u t i o n (EBFD) faulty (if lit at the same time
a s t h e A B S w a r n i n g l i g h t ) .

30 miles (50 km).
T h e c a p a c i t y o f t h e f u e l t a n k i s a p p r o x i -

temperature.
T h e l i g h t i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t
indicates an excessively high
t e m p e r a t u r e i n t h e c o o l i n g s y s t e m . I t i s

as soon as it is safe to do so. Door open.

CHECKING LEVELS
Check all of these levels regularly and
t o p t h e m u p i f n e c e s s a r y , u n l e s s o t h e r -
w i s e i n d i c a t e d .
I f a l e v e l d r o p s s i g n i i c a n t l y , h a v e t h e
c o r r e s p o n d i n g c i r c u i t c h e c k e d b y a
PEUGEOT dealer. Brake fluid level
T o a v o i d a n y r i s k o f s c a l d i n g , u n s c r e w
t h e c a p b y t w o t u r n s t o a l l o w t h e p r e s -
s u r e t o d r o p . W h e n t h e p r e s s u r e h a s
d r o p p e d , r e m o v e t h e c a p a n d t o p u p
the level.
Oil level T h e r e a d i n g w i l l o n l y b e c o r r e c t
if the vehicle is on level ground
and the engine has been off for
more than 15 minutes.

Coolant level The coolant level should be
c l o s e t o t h e " M A X " m a r k b u t
should never exceed it.
W h e n t h e e n g i n e i s w a r m , t h e
t e m p e r a t u r e o f t h e c o o l a n t i s r e g u l a t e d
b y t h e f a n . T h i s c a n o p e r a t e w i t h t h e i g -
nition off.
O n v e h i c l e s w h i c h a r e i t t e d w i t h a
p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n i l t e r , t h e f a n m a y
operate after the vehicle has been
switched off, even if the engine is
cold.
In addition, as the cooling system is
p r e s s u r i s e d , w a i t a t l e a s t o n e h o u r a f t e r
s w i t c h i n g o f f t h e e n g i n e b e f o r e c a r r y i n g
o u t a n y w o r k . Wash-wipe and headlamp wash *
