If the vehicle is locked or dead-
locked from the outside, the red

is inactive.
In this case, use the remote
control or the key to unlock the
vehicle.
If one of the doors or the boot or
rear screen is open, the automatic
central locking does not take place.
Manual centralised control
System which provides full manual
locking or unlocking of the doors from
the inside.
Locking
Press button A to lock the vehicle.
The red indicator light on the button
comes on. Automatic centralised control
System which provides full automatic
locking or unlocking of the doors, boot
and rear screen while driving.
You can activate or deactivate this function.
Activation
Press button A for more than
two seconds.

Unlocking
Above 6 mph (10 km/h), press but-
ton A to unlock the doors, the boot
and the rear screen temporarily.
If one of the doors is open, the central
locking from the inside does not take
place.

Press button A again to unlock the
vehicle.
The red indicator light on the button
switches off. Locking
When the speed exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h),
the doors, the boot and the rear screen lock
automatically. Deactivation
Press button A again for more than
two seconds.

ACCESS
Emergency control
System which locks or unlocks the doors
mechanically in the event of a malfunc-
tion of the central locking.
Insert the key in the lock, located on
the edge of the door, then turn it one
eighth of a turn.
Locking the driver's door
Insert the key in the lock, then turn it
to the right.
Unlocking the driver's door
Insert the key in the lock, then turn it
to the left.

Lower the tailgate using the interior
grab handle.
If the tailgate is not closed correctly:
REAR SCREEN (SW)
Opening
After unlocking the vehicle using the
remote control or the key, with the
boot closed, press the control B and
raise the rear screen using the base
C of the wiper arm.
The boot and the rear screen can-
not both be open at the same time.
If the rear wiper is in a wiping posi-
tion, the rear screen will not open
until the end of the cycle. Closing
Close the rear screen by pressing at
the centre of the glass.
If the rear screen is not closed correctly:
- when the engine is running ,
this warning light comes on,
accompanied by a message
on the multifunction display
for a few seconds,

when the vehicle is moving (speed
above 6 mph (10 km/h)), this warning
light comes on, accompanied by an au-
dible signal and a message on the multi-
function display for a few seconds.
BOOT (SW)
If the rear screen is open, the central
locking does not take place.

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to them:
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking the cord(s) on
the hook(s) on the rear shelf sup-
port,
remove the box containing the
tools.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim and removal of the wheel
fi x i n g b o l t s .
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy
wheels.
4. Socket for the anti-theft bolts
(located in the glove box).
Permits adaptation of the wheelbrace to the special
"anti-theft" bolts.

Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel , detach
t h e t r i m fi r s t u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1
pulling at the valve passage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e
trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
edge with the palm of your hand.
A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.

Fixing the steel or "space-
saving" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t
the washers do not come into con-
tact with the steel or "space-sav-
ing" type spare wheel. The wheel
is secured by the conical contact of
each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
(Saloon)
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to model, the spare wheel may
be steel or of the "space saving" type.
To gain access to it, refer to the para-
graph "Access to the tools" on the pre-
vious page.
Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
Put the box back in place in the cen-
tre of the wheel.

Fixing the steel or

wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t

few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
Put the box back in place in the cen-
tre of the wheel.

r e m o v e t h e l i g h t fi x i n g b o l t ,
take out the light from the outside,
disconnect the light connector,
remove the light seal,
press the four tabs and remove the
bulb holder,
turn the bulb one quarter of a turn
and change it.

audio system, on the right-hand
s i d e , o p e n t h e fl a p fi r s t t o g a i n a c -
c e s s t o t h e fi x i n g b o l t .
Amber coloured bulbs, such as the
direction indicators, must be re-
placed with bulbs of identical speci-
fi c a t i o n a n d c o l o u r . T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.

Take care to engage the light in its
guides keeping it in the centreline of the
vehicle.
T i g h t e n t h e fi x i n g b o l t s u f fi c i e n t l y b y
hand to guarantee the sealing of the
light.
Amber coloured bulbs, such as the
direction indicators, must be re-
placed with bulbs of identical speci-
fi c a t i o n a n d c o l o u r .

TOWING THE VEHICLE
Procedure for having your vehicle towed
or for towing another vehicle using a re-
movable towing eye.
Access to the tools Towing your vehicle
On the front bumper, unclip the cov-
er by pressing at the bottom.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towbar.
Switch on the hazard warning lights
on the towed vehicle.
On the rear bumper, unclip the cov-
er by pressing at the bottom.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towbar.
Switch on the hazard warning lights
on the towed vehicle.
Towing another vehicle
The towing eye is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to it:
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its cord on the
hook on the shelf support,
remove the towing eye from the
holder. When towing with all four wheels
on the ground, always use a tow-
bar.
When towing with only two wheels
on the ground, always use profes-
sional lifting equipment.
When towing with the engine off,
there is no longer any braking or
steering assistance.
Place the gear lever in neutral
(position N on the "2 Tronic" or
automatic gearbox).
Failure to comply with this special
requirement may result in damage
to certain braking components and
the absence of braking assistance
the next time the engine is started.
