8. Air intake/Air recirculation Deactivation of the system
Press the "small fan" button until
the fan symbol disappears.
This action deactivates all of the func-
tions of the air conditioning system.
The temperature is no longer main-
tained at a comfortable level. However,
a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e t o t h e m o v e m e n t
of the vehicle, can still be felt.
Press the "large fan" button again
or the "AUTO" button to reactivate
the system with the values which
were set before it was deactivated.
Press this button to recircu-
late the interior air. The air
recirculation symbol is dis-
played.
5. Air conditioning On/Off
Avoid driving for too long with the
air conditioning deactivated.
Avoid prolonged operation in inte-
rior air recirculation mode (risk of
condensation and of deterioration
of the air quality).
- the windscreen, the side windows
and the footwells,
- the windscreen and side windows (demisting or de-icing),
- the central and side vents,
- the central vents, the side vents and the footwells,
- the footwells.
Press the "large fan" but-

progressively in relation to the value re-
quired. Air recirculation prevents exterior odours
and smoke from entering the passenger
compartment.
As soon as possible, press this but-
ton again to permit the intake of ex-
terior air and prevent condensation.
For maximum cooling or heating of
the passenger compartment, you
can exceed the minimum value of
14 or the maximum value of 28 .
Turn dial 2 or 3 to the left until
"LO" is displayed or to the right
until "HI" is displayed.
Resuming manual control
Depending on your requirements, you
can make a different selection from that
offered by the system by changing a
setting. The other functions will still be
controlled automatically.
Press the "AUTO" button to return
to fully automatic operation.
Switching the system off may result in
discomfort (humidity, condensation).
Press the button again to return to auto-
matic operation of the air conditioning.
The symbol " A/C " is displayed.

Interior mirror
Adjustable mirror permitting central
rearward vision.
Adjustment
Adjust the mirror to direct it correctly
in the "day" position.
As a safety precaution, the mirrors
must be adjusted to reduce the
"blind spot". Automatic day/night model
System which automatically and gradu-
ally changes between the day and night
uses.
To avoid glare, the interior mirror dark-
ens automatically in relation to the in-
tensity of the light from the rear.
It clears as soon as the light (light beam
of vehicles behind, sun...) decreases,
so providing optimum visibility.
Switching on
Switch on the ignition and press
switch 1 .
The indicator light 2 comes on and the
mirror operates in automatic mode.
Manual model
T h e m i r r o r i s fi t t e d w i t h a n i g h t a n t i - d a z -
zle device.
Day/night position
Pull the lever to change to the "night"
anti-dazzle position.
Push the lever to change to the nor-
mal "day" position. Switching off
Press switch 1 .
The indicator light 2 switches off and
the mirror remains at its clearest.
In order to provide optimum vis-
ibility during your manoeuvres, the
mirror clears automatically when
reverse gear is engaged.

STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT
The height and depth of the steering
wheel can be adjusted to adapt the driv-
ing position to the size of the driver.
Adjustment
When stationary , pull the control to
unlock the steering wheel.
Adjust the height and depth.
Push the control to lock the steering
wheel.
As a safety precaution, it is imperative
that these operations are carried out
while the vehicle is stationary.
SUN VISOR
Component which protects against sunlight
from the front or the side, also equipped
with an illuminated courtesy mirror.
With the ignition on, raise the con-
c e a l i n g fl a p ; t h e m i r r o r i s l i t a u t o m a t -
ically.
This sun visor is also equipped with a
ticket holder.
TOLL CARD/CAR PARK TICKET
WINDOWS
F a c i l i t y f o r a f fi x i n g t o l l c a r d s a n d / o r c a r
park tickets.
These windows are located on each
side of the base of the interior mirror.
T h e y a r e t w o n o n - r e fl e c t i v e a r e a s o f t h e
athermic windscreen.
The athermic windscreen limits
heating of the passenger compart-
ment by reducing the effects of the
sun's rays (ultra-violet). It consists
o f a r e fl e c t i v e l a y e r , w h i c h a l s o
blocks certain radio-electric signals
(toll card payments, ...).

Glove box with light
This has an upper open storage com-
partment, a recess and locations for
storing a bottle of water, the vehicle's
handbook, ...
Its lid has locations for storing a pen,
a pair of spectacles, tokens, cards, a
can, ...
To open the glove box, raise the
handle.
It is lit when the lid is opened.
Raise the lid to gain access to the
ashtray and the lighter.
To empty the ashtray, after opening,
remove its receptacle.
To use the lighter, press it and wait
a few seconds until it pops out auto-
matically.
To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 Watts), remove the
lighter and connect the appropriate
adaptor.
It houses the front passenger air bag
disarming switch

I f t h e v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a i r c o n d i -
tioning, it provides access to the ven-
tilation nozzle B , which can be opened
or closed, distributing the same condi-
tioned air as the vents in the passenger

Hooks Hooked onto the stowing rings, this en-
ables you to secure your luggage, either
to the bottom of the boot or to the back
of the rear seats.
Rear shelf (Saloon)
To remove the shelf:
unhook the two cords,
raise the shelf slightly, then remove
it. The hooks permit the securing of shop-
ping bags. Luggage retaining net
When changing a wheel
The hooks permit easy access to
the spare wheel by retaining the
boot carpet by means of its cord.
You have two storage options:
- either upright behind the front
seats,
- or upright behind the rear seats.

The vehicle will relock automati-
cally after thirty seconds unless a
door is opened. This system pre-
vents unintentional unlocking.
The folding and unfolding of the ex-
terior mirrors can be deactivated by
a PEUGEOT dealer.
Folding the key
First press button A to fold the key.
Lost keys
Visit a PEUGEOT dealer with the vehi-
c l e ' s V 5 r e g i s t r a t i o n c e r t i fi c a t e a n d y o u r
p e r s o n a l i d e n t i fi c a t i o n d o c u m e n t s .
Your PEUGEOT dealer will be able to
retrieve the key code and the transpon-
der code to order a replacement key.
Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code must
be recognised in order for starting to be
possible.
This electronic engine immobiliser locks
the engine management system a few
minutes after the ignition is switched off
and prevents starting of the engine by
anyone who does not have the key.
Anti-theft protection
In the event of a malfunction,
you are informed by lighting of
this warning light, an audible
signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
In this case, your vehicle does not start;
contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as
possible.
Unlocking and partial opening
of the rear screen (SW)
Press this button for more
than two seconds to par-
tially open the rear screen.
This action will unlock the
v e h i c l e fi r s t .
The boot and the rear screen can-
not both be open at the same time.

ACCESS
Starting the vehicle
Insert the key in the ignition switch.
The system recognises the starting code.
Turn the key fully towards the fascia
to position 3 (Starting) .
When the engine starts, release the
key.
Switching the vehicle off
Immobilise the vehicle.
Turn the key fully towards you to po-
sition 1 (Stop) .
Remove the key from the ignition switch.
Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the vehicle
battery, replacement of the remote con-
trol battery or in the event of a remote
control malfunction, you can no longer
unlock, lock or locate your vehicle.
First of all, use the key in the lock to
unlock or lock your vehicle.
Then, reinitialise the remote con-
trol.
If the problem persists, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer as soon as possible. Changing the battery
Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.
Reinitialisation
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the key to position 2 (Igni-
tion) .
Press the closed padlock immedi-
ately for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove
the key from the ignition switch.
The remote control is fully operational
again.
Unclip the casing using a coin at the
notch.

tion.
Slide the new battery into its loca-
tion observing the original direction.
Clip the casing.
Reinitialise the remote control. This replacement battery is avail-
able from PEUGEOT dealers.

Locating your vehicle
To locate your vehicle, if you have
