5. Air conditioning On/Off
The air conditioning is de-signed to operate effectively in all seasons, with the windows closed.
The control button is located on the heating or air conditioning system control panel.
REAR SCREEN DE-ICING
If the engine is switched off before
the de-icing is switched off auto-
matically, de-icing will resume next
time the engine is switched on.
Switching on
The rear screen de-icing can only oper-ate when the engine is running.
Press this button to de-ice the rear screen and the exterior mirrors. The indicator light associated with the button comes on.
Switching off
The de-icing switches off automatically
to prevent an excessive consumption of
current.
It is possible to stop the de-icing
operation before it is switched off
automatically by pressing the button
again. The indicator light associated
with the button switches off.
It enables you to:
- lower the temperature, in summer,
- increase the effectiveness of the demisting, in winter above 0 °C.
Switching on
Press the "A/C" button, the associated
indicator light comes on.
The air conditioning does not operate w h e n t h e a i r fl o w a d j u s t m e n t d i a l 2 i s in position "0".
Switching off
Press the "A/C" button again, the associated indicator light switches off.

To exit this programme, press the "visibility" button again or the "AUTO"button, the indicator light on the button switches off and "AUTO" is displayed.
Press this button to switch the air conditioning off.

Press the "small fan" button t o r e d u c e t h e a i r fl o w.
8. Air intake/Air recirculation Deactivation of the system
Press the "small fan" button until
the fan symbol disappears.
This action deactivates all of the func-
tions of the air conditioning system.
The temperature is no longer main-
tained at a comfortable level. However,
a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e t o t h e m o v e m e n t
of the vehicle, can still be felt.
Press the "large fan" button again
or the "AUTO" button to reactivate
the system with the values which
were set before it was deactivated.
Press this button to recircu-late the interior air. The air recirculation symbol is dis-played.
5. Air conditioning On/Off
- the windscreen, the side windows and the footwells,
- the windscreen and side windows (demisting or de-icing),
- the central and side vents,
- the central vents, the side vents and the footwells,
- the footwells.
Press the "large fan" button t o i n c r e a s e t h e a i r fl o w .
T h e a i r fl o w s y m b o l , t h e f a n , i s fi l l e d i n progressively in relation to the value required.
Air recirculation prevents exterior odours and smoke from entering the passenger
compartment.
As soon as possible, press this button
again to permit the intake of exterior
air and prevent condensation.
For maximum cooling or heating of
the passenger compartment, you
can exceed the minimum value of
14 or the maximum value of 28 .
Resuming manual control
Depending on your requirements, you
can make a different selection from that
offered by the system by changing a
setting. The other functions will still be
controlled automatically.
Press the "AUTO" button to return
to fully automatic operation.
Switching the system off may result in
discomfort (humidity, condensation).
Press the button again to return to auto-matic operation of the air conditioning. The symbol "A/C" is displayed.

Interior mirror
Adjustable mirror providing a central
rearward view.
A d j u s t m e n t
Adjust the mirror so that the glass is di-
r e c t e d c o r r e c t l y i n t h e " d a y " p o s i t i o n .
As a safety precaution, the mirrors
must be adjusted to reduce the
" b l i n d s p o t " . Automatic day/night model
System which automatically and pro-
gressively changes between the day
and night uses.
In order to prevent dazzle, the interior
mirror glass darkens automatically in
relation to the intensity of the light from
the rear.
It lightens when the light (light beam of
following vehicles, sun...) decreases, so
guaranteeing optimum visibility.
Manual model
T h e m i r r o r i s fi t t e d w i t h a n i g h t - t i m e a n t i -
dazzle device.
Day/night position
P u l l t h e l e v e r t o c h a n g e t o t h e " n i g h t "
anti-dazzle position.
Push the lever to change to the normal
" d a y " p o s i t i o n . In order to guarantee optimum visi-
bility during your manoeuvres, the
mirror lightens automatically when
reverse gear is engaged.

STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT
The height and reach of the steering
wheel can be adjusted to adapt the driv-
ing position to the size of the driver.
A d j u s t m e n t
When stationary,stationarystationary pull the control to unlock the steering wheel.
Adjust the height and depth.
Push the control to lock the steering wheel.
SUN VISOR
Component which protects against sunlight
from the front or the side, also equipped
with an illuminated courtesy mirror.
With the ignition on, raise the con-
c e a l i n g fl a p ; t h e m i r r o r i s l i t a u t o m a -
tically.
This sun visor is also equipped with a
ticket holder.
TOLL CARD/CAR PARK TICKET
WINDOWS
F a c i l i t y f o r a f fi x i n g t o l l c a r d s a n d / o r c a r
park tickets.
These windows are located on each
side of the base of the interior mirror.
T h e y a r e t w o n o n - r e fl e c t i v e a r e a s o f t h e
athermic windscreen.

Glove box with light *
This has an upper open storage com-
partment, a recess and locations for
storing a bottle of water, the vehicle's
handbook, ...
Its lid has locations for storing a pen,
a pair of spectacles, tokens, cards, a
can, ...
To open the glove box, raise the
handle.
It is lit when the lid is opened.
It houses the front passenger air bag
disarming switch A .
To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 Watts), lift the cover and
connect a suitable adaptor.
12 V accessories socket
I f t h e v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a u t o m a t i c
air conditioning, it provides access to
the ventilation nozzle B , which can be
opened or closed, distributing the same
conditioned air as the vents in the pas-
senger compartment.

Hooks
Rear shelf (Saloon)
To remove the shelf:
unhook the two cords,
raise the shelf slightly, then remove it. The hooks permit the securing of shop-
ping bags.
When changing a wheel
The hooks permit easy access to
the spare wheel by retaining the
boot carpet by means of its cord.
You have two storage options:
either upright behind the front seats,
- or upright behind the rear seats.

Deadlocking renders the exterior
and interior door controls inoperative.
It also deactivates the manual cen-
tralised control button.
Therefore, do not leave anyone
inside the vehicle when it is dead-
locked.
Deadlocking using the remote
control
Press the closed padlock to lock the
vehicle.
Press the closed padlock again

Deadlocking using the key
Turn the key to the right in the driv-
er's door lock to lock the vehicle.
Turn the key to the right again within

ing of the direction indicators for approxi-
mately two seconds.
According to version, the exterior mir-
rors fold at the same time.
The vehicle will relock automati-
cally after thirty seconds unless a
door is opened. This system pre-
vents unintentional unlocking.
The folding and unfolding of the
exterior mirrors can be deactivated
by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Folding the key
First press button A to fold the key.
Electronic engine immobiliser
The key contains an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, this code must
be recognised in order for starting to be
possible.
This electronic engine immobiliser locks
the engine management system a few
minutes after the ignition is switched off
and prevents starting of the engine by
anyone who does not have the key.
Anti-theft protection
In the event of a malfunction,
you are informed by lighting of
this warning lamp, an audible
signal and a message on the
multifunction screen.
In this case, your vehicle does not start;
contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as
possible.
Unlocking and partial opening
of the rear screen (SW)
Press this button for more
than two seconds to par-
tially open the rear screen.
This action will unlock the
v e h i c l e fi r s t .
The boot and the rear screen can-
not both be open at the same time.

Starting the vehicle
Insert the key in the ignition switch.
The system recognises the starting code.
Turn the key fully towards the fascia
to position 3 (Starting) .
When the engine starts, release the
key.
Switching the vehicle off
Immobilise the vehicle.
Turn the key fully towards you to po-
sition 1 (Stop) .
Remove the key from the ignition
switch. Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the vehicle
battery, replacement of the remote con-
trol battery or in the event of a remote
control malfunction, you can no longer
unlock, lock or locate your vehicle.
First of all, use the key in the lock to
unlock or lock your vehicle.
Then, reinitialise the remote control.
If the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. Changing the battery
Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.
Reinitialisation
Switch off the ignition.
Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition) .
Press the closed padlock immedi-
ately for a few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remove
the key from the ignition switch.
The remote control is fully operational
again.
Unclip the casing using a coin at the
notch.
S l i d e t h e fl a t b a t t e r y o u t o f i t s l o c a -
tion.
Slide the new battery into its loca-
tion observing the original direction.
Clip the casing.
Reinitialise the remote control. This replacement battery is avail-
able from PEUGEOT dealers.
I f t h e b a t t e r y i s fl a t , y o u a r e
informed by lighting of this warn-
ing lamp, an audible signal and
a message on the multifunction
screen.
Locating your vehicle
To locate your vehicle, if you have
locked it, in a car park:
press the closed padlock, the cour-
tesy lights come on and the direction
i n d i c a t o r s fl a s h f o r a f e w s e c o n d s .
Key in ignition
If the key has been left in the igni-
tion, an audible signal is heard on
opening the driver's door.
