Deactivation warning lamps

Passenger's
air bag
system fi x e d . The control, located in the
glove box, is set to the
OFF
position.
The passenger's front
airbag is deactivated. Set the control to the
ON position to activate the
p a s s e n g e r ' s f r o n t a i r b a g . I n t h i s c a s e , d o n o t fi t a
child seat in the rear-facing position.
The passenger's airbag system is put into service
automatically when the vehicle is started.
ESP/ASR fi x e d . The button, located
in the centre of
the dashboard,
is pressed. Its
indicator lamp is on.
The ESP/ASR is
deactivated.
ESP: electronic stability
programme.
ASR: anti-skid regulation. Press the button to activate the ESP/ASR. Its
indicator lamp switches off.
From approximately 30 mph (50 km/h), the
system is reactivated automatically.
The ESP/ASR system is activated automatically
when the vehicle is started.

has been selected, you gain access to
the following parameters:
- selection of the palette of colours available for the display,
- setting of the brightness and bril- liance of the display,
- setting of the date and time (12 or 24 hour mode, adjustment of the
minutes on GPS),
- selection of the units (temperature in °Celsius or °Fahrenheit; consump-
tion in l/100 km or mpg or km/l).

"Video" menu
Sounds
Once the "Sounds" menu has been se-
lected, you gain access to the following
parameters:
- setting of the voice commands,
- setting of the voice synthesiser
(volume, male or female),
- activation of the auxiliary input AUX. Language selection
Once the "Language selection" menu
has been selected, you gain access to
the following parameters:
- selection of the display language
(Français, English, Italiano, Portugues,
Espanol, Deutsch, Nederlands,
Türkçe * ),
- selection of the information and voice commands language (Français,
English, Italiano, Portugues, Espanol,
Deutsch, Nederlands, Türkçe * ).
You can connect video equipment
(camcorder, digital camera, DVD play-
er, ...) to the three audio/video sockets,
located in the glove box.
Videos can only be displayed when
stationary.
Once this menu has been selected, you
can select:
- "Activate video mode" to activate/ deactivate the video,
- "Video parameters" to set the display format, the brightness, the contrast
and the colours.
Press the "MODE" or "DARK" but-
ton to disconnect the displaying of
the video.
Press the "SOURCE" button sev-
eral times in succession to select an
audio source other than that of the
video.
The PC Com must reinitialise and
re-start in order to change the
voice used by the voice synthe-
siser (male or female) or the lan-
guage used by the system.
For safety reasons, it is imperative
t h a t c o n fi g u r a t i o n o f t h e m u l t i f u n c -
tion displays by the driver takes
place when stationary.

Glove box with light *
This has an upper open storage com-
partment, a recess and locations for
storing a bottle of water, the vehicle's
handbook, ...
Its lid has locations for storing a pen,
a pair of spectacles, tokens, cards, a
can, ...
To open the glove box, raise the
handle.
It is lit when the lid is opened.
It houses the front passenger air bag
disarming switch A .
To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 Watts), lift the cover and
connect a suitable adaptor.

I f t h e v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a u t o m a t i c
air conditioning, it provides access to
the ventilation nozzle B , which can be
opened or closed, distributing the same
conditioned air as the vents in the pas-
senger compartment.

AIR BAGS Front air bags
System which protects the head and
chest of the driver and front passenger
in the event of a front impact.
The driver's air bag is incorporated in the
centre of the steering wheel; the front
passenger's air bag is incorporated in
the fascia above the glove box.
Activation
The air bags are triggered simultane-
ously, unless the passenger's front air
bag is disarmed, in the event of a seri-
ous front impact applied to all or part of
the front impact zone A , in the longitu-
dinal centreline of the vehicle on a hori-
zontal plane and directed from the front
to the rear of the vehicle.
T h e f r o n t a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n t h e
front occupant of the vehicle and the fas-
cia to cushion his forward movement. Impact detection zones
A. Front impact zone.
B. Side impact zone.
System designed to maximise the safety of the occupants (with the exception of the rear centre passenger) in the event of violent collisions. It supplements the action of the force-limiting seat belts.
If a collision occurs, the electronic de-tectors record and analyse the front and side impacts sustained in the impact detection zones:
- in the case of a serious impact, the air bags are triggered instantly and protect the occupants of the vehicle (with the exception of the rear centre passenger); immediately after the i m p a c t , t h e a i r b a g s d e fl a t e r a p i d l y so that they do not hinder visibility or the exit of the occupants,
- in the case of a minor or rear impact or in certain roll-over conditions, the air bags will not be triggered; the s e a t b e l t a l o n e i s s u f fi c i e n t t o p r o -vide optimum protection in these situations.

Connect the portable equipment (MP3 p l a y e r … ) t o t h e J A C K s o c k e t o r t o t h e a u d i o s o c k e t s ( w h i t e a n d r e d , R C A t y p e ) located in the glove box using a suitable cable.
Press the SOURCE button several times in succession and select AUX.
The displaying and management of the commands takes place via the portable equipment.
