Emergency control
System which locks or unlocks the
doors mechanically in the event of a
m a l f u n c t i o n o f t h e b a t t e r y o r o f t h e c e n -
tral locking.
Insert the key in the lock, located on
the edge of the door, then turn it one
eighth of a turn .
Locking the driver's door
Insert the key in the lock, then turn it
to the right.
Unlocking the driver's door
Insert the key in the lock, then turn it
to the left.
Locking the front and rear
passenger doors
Unlocking the front and rear
passenger doors
Pull the interior door opening control.
Opening
After unlocking the vehicle using the
remote control or the key, press the
handle A and raise the tailgate.
BOOT
Closing
Close the lower tailgate.
Pull the handle B downwards to
guide the tailgate.

Windscreen and headlamp wash

Reverse gear
When reverse gear is engaged, the
rear wiper will come into operation if the
windscreen wipers are operating.
Programming
Pull the windscreen wiper stalk to-
wards you. The windscreen wash
then the windscreen wipers operate
f o r a fi x e d p e r i o d .
The headlamp washers only operate
when the dipped
beam
headlamps
are on .
Rear wiper
I f a s i g n i fi c a n t a c c u m u l a t i o n
of snow or ice is present, or
when using a bicycle carrier
on the boot, deactivate the auto-
matic rear wiper via the multifunction
s c r e e n c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u . The function is activated or
deactivated via the multi-
f u n c t i o n s c r e e n c o n fi g u r a -
tion menu.
This function is activated
by default.
Screenwash/headlamp wash low
I n t h e c a s e o f v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h
headlamp washers, when the
minimum level of the reservoir
is reached, this warning lamp is
displayed on the instrument panel, ac-
companied by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction screen.
N e x t t i m e y o u s t o p , fi l l t h e s c r e e n w a s h /
headlamp wash reservoir.
The warning lamp is displayed when
the ignition is switched on, or every time
the stalk is operated, until the reservoir
i s fi l l e d .

Operation

comes on automatically when the boot
is opened and switches off automati-
cally when the boot is closed.
It operates with NiMH type recharge-
able batteries.
It has a battery life of approximately
45 minutes and recharges while you are
driving.
O b s e r v e t h e p o l a r i t i e s w h e n fi t -
ting the rechargeable batteries.
Never replace the rechargeable batte-
ries with normal single-use batteries. For the torch function, refer to
the "Fittings - § Torch" section.
The soft lighting provided by the foot-
well lamps improves visibility in the ve-
hicle when the light is poor.
Activation
Its operation is identical to that of the
courtesy lamps. The lighting comes on
when one of the doors is opened.
- when the ignition is off, approxi-mately ten minutes,
- in energy economy mode, approxi- mately thirty seconds,
- when the engine is running, no limit.

Torch
This is a removable lamp, incorporated
in the boot wall, which can be used to
light the boot or as a torch.
Operation
This torch operates with NiMH type re-
chargeable batteries.
It has a battery life of approximately
45 minutes and charges while you are
driving. Use
Extract the torch from its location
pulling the side of the torch A .
Press the switch, located on the
back, to switch the torch on or off.
Unfold the support, located on the
back, to set down and raise the
t o r c h ; f o r e x a m p l e , w h e n c h a n g i n g
a wheel.
Storing
Put the torch back in place in its loca-
tion starting with the narrow part B .
If you have forgotten to switch off the torch, this switches it off auto-
matically. Rear side blinds
Fitted on the rear windows, these protect
your young children from the sun.
Pull the blind by the central tab.
Position the blind attachment on the
hook.
Observe the polarities when
fi t t i n g t h e b a t t e r i e s .
Never replace the rechargeable batteries
with normal single-use batteries.
It the torch is not engaged cor-
rectly, it may not charge and
may not come on when the
boot is opened.
For the boot lighting function,
refer to the "Visibility - § Boot
lighting" section.

Rear parcel shelf To fold it:
unhook the two cords,
fold it concertina-style to the rear
seats.
To remove it:
fold the rear parcel shelf as de-
scribed above,
u n c l i p t h e fi x i n g s o n t h e l e f t a n d o n
the right by pushing gently,
place your hands as shown on the
illustration then pull the assembly
towards you, To store it at the bottom of the boot:
remove the rear parcel shelf as de-
scribed above,
p l a c e t h e fl o o r a t a n a n g l e ,
place the rear parcel shelf in its lo-
cation (recess marked A ), at bottom
of the boot,
the rear parcel shelf will be protect-
e d i f y o u p l a c e t h e fl o o r i n t h e i n t e r -
mediate position.
This consists of three sections which
can be folded back on each other.
To put it back in place:
take hold of the rear parcel shelf
with both hands then place it on its
support,
unfold it to the boot pillars,
hook the two cords,
if necessary, press on the top of the
rear parcel shelf, on the left and on
t h e r i g h t , t o e n g a g e t h e fi x i n g s .
