Vehicle parameters
This menu allows you to activate or
deactivate certain driving and comfort
equipment (according to country):
- wiper linked with reverse gear (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- selective unlocking (refer to the "Ac- cess" section),
- guide-me-home and welcome light- ing (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- interior mood lighting (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- daytime running lamps (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- directional headlamps (refer to the "Visibility" section),
- automatic or manual parking brake (refer to the "Driving" section).
Choice of units
This menu allows you to select the
units: temperature (°Celsius or °Fahr-
enheit) and fuel consumption (l/100 km,
mpg or km/l).
Choice of language
This menu allows you to select the
display language: Deutsch, English,
Espanol, Français, Italiano, Nederlands,
Portugues, Türkçe * .
The main menu and its asso-
ciated functions can only be
accessed when stationary, via
buttons
1 to 4 .
A message appears on the screen,
above a certain speed threshold, in-
dicating that the main menu cannot
be displayed.
The trip computer displays can only
be accessed while driving, via but-
tons 2 and 3 (refer to the "Trip com-
puter" paragraph).
Main menu
Press button 1 for access to the
main menu and select one of the
following functions:
- "Vehicle parameters",
- "Choice of language",
- "Choice of units".
Press button 2 or 3 to move in the
screen.

Visual indicators informing the driver
that a system is in operation (operation
or deactivation indicator lamps) or of the
occurrence of a fault (warning lamp).
When the ignition is switched on
Certain warning lamps come on for a
few seconds when the vehicle's ignition
is switched on.
When the engine is started, these same
warning lamps should switch off.
If they remain on, before moving off,
refer to the information on the warning
lamp concerned.
Associated warnings
The switching on of certain warning
lamps may be accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction screen. The warning lamps may come
o n c o n t i n u o u s l y ( fi x e d ) o r
fl a s h .
Certain warning lamps may come on in
two different modes. Only by relating the
type of lighting to the operating status of
the vehicle can it be ascertained wheth-
er the situation is normal or whether a
fault has occurred.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Diesel engine
pre-heating fi x e d . The ignition switch is at the
2nd position (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp has switched off
before starting.
The duration for which the warning lamp is on is
determined by the climatic conditions.
Electric
parking brake fi x e d . The electric parking brake is
applied. Release the electric parking brake to switch off
the warning lamp: with your foot on the brake
pedal, pull the electric brake control.
Observe the safety recommendations.
For further information about the electric parking
brake, refer to the "Driving" section.
Deactivation
of the
automatic
functions of the electric
parking brake fi x e d .
The "automatic application"
(on switching off the engine)
and "automatic release"
functions are deactivated or
faulty. Activate the function (according to country) via
t h e v e h i c l e c o n fi g u r a t i o n m e n u o r c o n t a c t a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Foot on the
brake pedal fi x e d .
The brake pedal must be
pressed. Press the brake pedal to start the engine with
the 6-speed electronic gear control gearbox
(lever in position
N ) or automatic gearbox
(lever in position P ).
If you wish to release the parking brake without
pressing the brake pedal, this warning lamp will
remain on.
fl a s h i n g . In the case of an electronic
gear control gearbox, if you
hold the vehicle on an incline
using the accelerator for too
long, the clutch overheats. Use the brake pedal and/or the electric parking
brake.

Warning lamps
When the engine is running or the vehicle is being driven, the switching on of one of the following warning lamps indicates
a fault which requires action on the part of the driver.
Any fault resulting in the switching on of a warning lamp must be investigated further by reading the associated message on
the multifunction screen.
If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
STOP
fi x e d , a l o n e o r
associated with
another warning lamp, accompanied by an
audible signal and a
message on the screen. Illumination of this warning
lamp is associated with a
serious braking system,
power steering, engine
lubrication or cooling system
fault or a punctured tyre. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so as
there is a risk that the engine will cut out
while driving.
Park, switch off the ignition and call a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Service temporarily.
A minor fault has occurred
f o r w h i c h t h e r e i s n o s p e c i fi c
warning lamp.
Identify the fault by reading the message
shown in the screen, such as, for example:
- the closing of the doors, boot or bonnet,
- the engine oil level,
- the screenwash level,
- the remote control battery,
- the tyre pressures,
- saturation of the particle emission
fi l t e r ( D i e s e l ) .
For any other faults, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
fi x e d . A major fault has occurred
f o r w h i c h t h e r e i s n o s p e c i fi c
warning lamp. Identify the fault by reading the
message shown on the screen and
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
(PEF:
particle
emissions
fi l t e r , D i e s e l )
fi x e d , a s s o c i a t e d
temporarily with a
message on the risk of blockage of the PEF. This indicates the start of sat-
uration of the particle emis-
s i o n s fi l t e r . A s s o o n a s t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s a l l o w ,
r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a
speed of at least 35 mph (60 km/h) until
the service warning lamp goes off.
fi x e d . This indicates the low level in
the Diesel additive reservoir. Have the level topped up by a PEUGEOT
dealer as soon as possible.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Engine
autodiagnosis system fi x e d . The emission control system
has a fault. This lamp should switch off when the
engine is started. If it does not switch off, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer urgently.
fl a s h i n g .
The engine management
system has a fault. Risk of destruction of the catalytic convertor.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low fuel
level fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s o n t h e r e
remains approximately
6 litres of fuel in the tank.
At this point, you begin to
use the fuel reserve. Refuel as soon as possible to avoid
running out of fuel.
This warning lamp will come on every
time the ignition is switched on, until a
s u f fi c i e n t a d d i t i o n o f f u e l i s m a d e .
Fuel tank capacity: approximately
60 litres .
Never continue to drive until you run out
of fuel, as this could damage the emission
control and injection systems.
Maximum
coolant
temperature fi x e d w i t h t h e n e e d l e
in the red zone. The temperature of the
cooling system is too high. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wait until the engine has cooled down
before topping up the level, if necessary.
If the problem persists, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil
pressure fi x e d . There is a fault with the
engine lubrication system. Stop as soon it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.
Dynamic
stability control
(ESP/ASR) fl a s h i n g .
The ESP/ASR regulation is
active. The system optimises traction and
improves the directional stability of
the vehicle.
fi x e d . Unless it has been
deactivated with the indicator
lamp on the button on, the
ESP/ASR system is faulty. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Battery
charge fi x e d . The battery charging circuit
has a fault (dirty or loose
terminals, slack or cut
alternator belt, ...). The warning lamp should go off when
the engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Door(s)
open
fi x e d i f t h e s p e e d i s
below 6 mph (10 km/h).
A door, the boot, the lower
tailgate or the bonnet (with
alarm only) is still open. Close the door or boot. fi x e d a n d a c c o m p a n i e d
by an audible signal if the speed is above 6 mph (10 km/h).
Seat belt not
fastened/
unfastened fi x e d t h e n fl a s h i n g
accompanied by an increasing audible signal. The driver and/or the front
passenger has not fastened
or has unfastened their seat
belt.
Pull the strap then insert the tongue in
the buckle.
Airbags temporarily.
This lamp comes on for a
few seconds when you turn
on the ignition, then switches
off. This lamp should switch off when the
engine is started.
If it does not switch off, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
fi x e d . One of the airbag or seat belt
pretensioner systems has a
fault. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Water in
Diesel fi x e d . T h e d i e s e l fi l t e r c o n t a i n s
water. Risk of damage to the injection system
on Diesel engines.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer without
delay.

Coolant temperature indicator
With the engine running, when the
needle is:
-
in zone A , the temperature is correct,
- in zone B , the temperature is too
high; the max temperature warning
lamp 1 and the central STOP warn-
ing lamp come on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message in
the multifunction screen. After driving for a few minutes, the tem-
perature and pressure in the cooling
system increase.
To top up the level:
wait for the engine to cool,
unscrew the cap by two turns to
allow the pressure to drop,
when the pressure has dropped,
remove the cap,
top up the level to the "MAX" mark.
You
must
stop as soon as it is safe
to do so.
Wait a few minutes before switching off
the engine.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
Directional
headlamps fl a s h i n g . The directional headlamps
system is faulty. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Under-
i n fl a t e d t y r e fi x e d . The pressure in one or more
wheels is too low. Check the pressure of the tyres as soon
as possible.
This check should preferably be carried
out when the tyres are cold.

The level shown will only be
correct if the vehicle is on
level ground and the engine
has been off for more than
30 minutes.
Engine oil level indicator
System which informs the driver whether
the engine oil level is correct or not.
This information is indicated for a few
seconds when the ignition is switched
on, after the service information.

Dipstick
T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y t h e fl a s h i n g o f
"OIL" , linked with the service warning
lamp, accompanied by an audible sig-
nal and a message in the multifunction
screen.
I f t h e l o w o i l l e v e l i s c o n fi r m e d b y a
check using the dipstick, the level must
be topped up to prevent damage to the
engine. T h i s i s i n d i c a t e d b y t h e fl a s h i n g o f
"OIL --"
. Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Refer to the "Checks" section to locate
t h e d i p s t i c k a n d t h e o i l fi l l e r c a p o n y o u r
engine. There are 2 marks on the
dipstick:
- A = max; never exceed
this level (risk of dam-
age to the engine),
-
B = min; top up the level
v i a t h e o i l fi l l e r c a p , u s i n g
the grade of oil suited to
your engine.

from the lock until the cap is
p u t b a c k o n t h e t a n k .
Opening the cap may trigger an in-
rush of air. This vacuum, which is
c o m p l e t e l y n o r m a l , i s c a u s e d b y t h e
sealing of the fuel system.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres. T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
the engine must be switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
When refuelling is complete:
p u t t h e c a p b a c k i n p l a c e ,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fi l l e r fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Operating fault
A malfunction of the fuel gauge is indi-
c a t e d b y t h e r e t u r n t o z e r o o f t h e f u e l
gauge needle.

Refuelling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fi l l e r
fl a p r e m i n d s y o u o f t h e t y p e o f f u e l t o b e
used according to your engine.
M o r e t h a n 5 l i t r e s o f f u e l m u s t b e a d d -
e d i n o r d e r t o b e r e g i s t e r e d b y t h e f u e l
gauge. When the low fuel level is
reached, this warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
p a n e l , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n
a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e
in the multifunction screen. When the
l a m p fi r s t c o m e s o n , t h e r e i s approxi-
mately
6 litres of fuel remaining.
U n t i l s u f fi c i e n t f u e l h a s b e e n a d d e d , t h i s
warning lamp appears every time the
i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , a c c o m p a n i e d b y
a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d a m e s s a g e . W h e n
d r i v i n g , t h i s a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d m e s s a g e
are repeated with increasing frequency,
as the fuel level drops towards "0" .
You must refuel to avoid run-
ning out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer
also to the "Checks" section.
