YOUR 306 IN DETAILAnti-lock braking system (ABS) warninglight* It comes on for 3 seconds
each time the ignition is switched on. If it comes on at over 8 m.p.h. (12 km/h.) it indicates a malfunction
of the ABS.
However, the vehicle retains conventional servo-assistedbraking.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Oil level and temperature gauge* When the ignition is switched on, this indicates the oil level (see Oil Gaugesection). After approximately 15 seconds, the graduated section and the oil level
symbol go out. The oil temperature isthen shown.

E, the temperature
is correct.
- needle in zone F, the temperature
is too high. To lower the oil temper- ature, reduce your speed.
Diesel pre-heat light If the light comes on, wait until it goes out before trying
the starter.
If the engine is warm enough, the lightwill not come on, and you can startthe engine without waiting. Front air bags*, sideair bags** anddisarming thepassenger air bag* For operation, see section on AIR BAGS.
Side air bags** For operation, see
section on AIR BAGS.
Oil gauge* When the ignition is switched on, this indicates the oil level: The reading is only valid if the vehicle is on level ground and the engine has
been switched off for 10 minutes.

- needle in zone D, check the oil level
using the dipstick and top up if nec-
essary.
Never exceed the maximum level onthe dipstick.
The oil level indicator switches off approximately 15 seconds after start-ing the engine.
Water in diesel filterwarning light(according to country) Risk of damage to the injection pump.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soonas possible. Front brake pad wearwarning light*
For your safety, change the brake pads when thewarning light comes on.
