T h e r e a r s p e a k e r s t r a n s m i t a n a u d i -
b l e s i g n a l :
- on the right if an obstacle is d e t e c t e d o n t h e r i g h t ,
- on the left if an obstacle is d e t e c t e d o n t h e l e f t ,
- on the right and on the left if an obstacle is detected in the
centre.
W h e n t h e d i s t a n c e b e t w e e n t h e r e a r
of the vehicle and the obstacle is less
t h a n a p p r o x i m a t e l y t w e n t y - i v e c e n t i -
m e t r e s , t h e a u d i b l e s i g n a l b e c o m e s
continuous and the "Danger" symbol
a p p e a r s o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .
C h a n g e t o n e u t r a l , t h e s y s t e m i s
again inactive.
Switching the system off
T h i s s y s t e m c o n s i s t s o f f o u r p r o x i m i t y
s e n s o r s , l o c a t e d i n t h e r e a r b u m p e r .
T h i s d e t e c t s a n y o b s t a c l e ( p e r s o n ,
v e h i c l e , t r e e , g a t e , e t c . ) b e h i n d t h e
v e h i c l e . N e v e r t h e l e s s , i t c a n n o t d e -
t e c t o b s t a c l e s l o c a t e d j u s t b e l o w t h e
b u m p e r .
A n o b j e c t , s u c h a s a s t a k e , a r o a d -
w o r k s c o n e o r a n y o t h e r s i m i l a r o b j e c t
may be detected at the beginning of
t h e m a n o e u v r e , b u t m a y n o l o n g e r
b e d e t e c t e d w h e n t h e v e h i c l e c o m e s
close to it.
Note: t h i s f u n c t i o n w i l l b e d i s a r m e d
a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s
t o w i n g a t r a i l e r ( v e h i c l e i t t e d w i t h
t o w i n g a t t a c h m e n t r e c o m m e n d e d b y
PEUGEOT).
I n b a d o r w i n t r y w e a t h e r , e n s u r e t h a t
t h e s e n s o r s a r e n o t c o v e r e d w i t h
m u d , f r o s t o r s n o w . W h e n r e v e r s e
g e a r i s e n g a g e d , a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l
( l o n g b l e e p ) i n d i c a t e s t h a t t h e s e n -
sors may be dirty.
Activation
The system is activated as soon as
reverse gear is engaged.
T h i s i s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
s i g n a l a n d d i s p l a y i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e
o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .
Activation/Deactivation
The system can be activat-
ed or deactivated from the
m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y c o n -
i g u r a t i o n m e n u .
The activation and deacti-
vation of the system are memorised
w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s s w i t c h e d o f f .

r e v e r s e g e a r i s e n g a g e d , t h e
s e r v i c e w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n ,

o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .
